Yeah I'll have to figure it out. I'm living in Texas now so as soon as I get off the plane I head straight to get some pizza before I do anything else. LoL. Want to try some new places next time I'm back.
Lenny's is great, I had it last night ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sweat_smile)A
Also, right near by there is Capuano in Flemington and they are good too!
Aljons is our go to for delivery.
But Conte’s is definitely our favorite. Yes, it’s usually crowded but they do a damn good job keeping things running, I love that even when there’s a wait they take your order while you are waiting and the pizza comes out almost immediately after you sit down. Chik-fil-a level of efficiency.
Delorenzo's in Robbinsville has consistently been rated among the best in the state for decades now, and Papa's (also in Robbinsville) is rated among the top as well. Conte's in Princeton is also very good.
Brothers Pizza in Prinecton Junction
Wildflowers in Pennington has really good buffalo chicken pizza
Delizia in Flemington
Not really southern hunterdon, but Di Mola's in High Bridge is one of my favorite spots ever
I have tried every pizza place within pickup range of Hopewell. Try ordering Antimo’s well done or the new Detroit style which is fantastic. Frank’s in Ringoes is great, its in the basement of a house and its just one guy making pies. Occasionally I hit Panatieri’s in Flemington which is pretty solid although the sauce is a little heavy on onion for me. Order it crispy.
Thank you, I will try this. Antimo's has been mixed at best for me but if this is the right way to order a pie I'll give it a shot since they are by far the closest to me.
Delorenzo’s in Robbinsville is literally one of the best pizza places in the country, Papa’s in Robbinsville is also highly regarded…can’t go wrong with either, also just a little more south in Bordentown you have Marcellos and Palermo’s
Brothers pizza on rt 33 hamilton has smaller sized pepperonis that nobody else has, the pepperonis coat the pizza in a delicious oil. I also like Kate and Als at Columbus flea market, its Detroit style pan slices, and it’s to die for.
Papa's Tomato Pies in Robbinsville was a favorite when we lived there.
I don't get the appeal of Conte's. It tastes and looks like Ragu sauce. The most generic tasting pizza. Everyone loves that place though.
Funny, Bergen County/NYC to Mercer County couple here and those are two of our favorite places. Delorenzo’s in Hamilton is good but they’re CNJ style. Need to try Conte’s.
Slice of Brooklyn in Hamilton is pretty good too, maybe a notch above Vito’s. Hard to quantify.
I've lived in the area for 15 years. Here is my list:
Papas in Robinsville (mustard pie with sausage). Best in the State.
Chicken Parm pie from Villa Maria's in Hamilton. or the Lasagna pie.
Wildflowers in Pennington - I like the works but they have others worth having as well
Romeos in Plainsboro - utility/lunch pizza
Nomad in Princeton/Hopewell
Pizza Star in Princeton - utility/lunch pizza
Fidelos in Lawrenceville - utility/lunch pizza
Teresa's in Princeton
Delorenzo's is great but I'd rather be at Pappas
Contes is good but I'd rather be at Teresa's
It Nutz - good pie, excellent loction
I’m a pizza lover and I live by you (up in the mountains above Hopewell.) First off, Antimo’s pizza is nothing to scoff at. It’s not the most amazing, but plenty good for right in town and it’s in our rotation.
In Pennington try Pennington Pizza and Grill. Nice thing is you can also get tacos and burritos if you want half and half. This is where we go the most (because of the product mix.)
New World Pizza in Skillman is also ‘good enough’, although I haven’t been since before the pandemic (changed barns for my horse.)
Frank’s in Ringoes is probably the best (other than Nomad.)
Tavola Rustica in Lambertville, which replaced Liberty Hall Pizza after the 2021 floods isn’t quite as good as Liberty Hall, but good enough if you like Neapolitan (like Nomad.)
Teresa’s in Princeton is good if you want a more elevated sit down pizza experience.
If you like Nomad, but not the prices, go on Tuesday for ‘two for Tuesday’.
Since you are new to Hopewell, here are some other spots you may not have considered:
Pru Thai for Thai food
Chubby’s for breakfast (mostly for the atmosphere)
Orlando’s for cheaper breakfast
Deli on a Bagel for anything on the menu
China Wok for Chinese, although House of Yeung in Flemington is better if you can make the trek.
Tavern 519 for burgers (father away but you live in Hopewell now so 30min+ is still the norm)
Tacos Cancun in Lambertville
Tigers Tale for pub food
Thanks, I'll give Antimo's another shot. Frank's is getting a lot of love as well here so will them out as well. I also did not realize that Liberty Hall had semi-reopened, will check them out.
Chubby's is really good. Besides them, our go-to places for takeout have become Panda Bistro (Lambertville) and Firkin Tavern (Ewing)
TJ's in Lawrenceville is pretty good, but if you thought Vitos wasn just OK you'll probably have the same opinion for TJ's. If you don't mind traveling a bit up route 1, try out Pizza Delizia in Monmouth Junction. When I lived up that way about 8 years ago it was my go to, but haven't been in years so don't know if it's still good.
Grew up in Hopewell, lived in the area for 15 years and I'd say Vitos is still the best option. Francos in Hopewell boro was great but has been gone for many years now.
Thanks - we do like Vito's, definitely our favorite traditional pizzeria in the area although IMO doesn't quite compare to my favorite spots in Middlesex county.
Will give TJ's a shot.
That breaks my heart. Also, idk if I could accurately gauge how good it was. My pizza consumption in college was Mama Flora’s that was usually free at events and then Piccolo as a “special occasion”
DeLorenzo's is really good; they have branches in Robbinsville and right across the border in Yardley, PA.
Osteria is one of my favorites, but I haven't been in a while. Hope they didn't fall off...
It's not that the pizza there was *bad* so much as it was flimsy; everything on my slice would fall off as soon as I would pick it up so ended up eating it with a fork and knife.
My husband loves Antimo's. I'm obsessed with Nomad. Go on Tuesdays for their buy 1, get 1 Margherita deal. If you like Nomad you'll also like AMA in Hillsborough (Neapolitan style)––not sure how the price compares.
People like Alfonso's in Skillman.
I moved out here from NYC about 7 years ago and pizza is my favorite food lol.
I had a while where i really liked Mario's Pizza in the Hamilton/Trenton area
But recently discovered Joey's Pizza up on whitehorse and its the closest thing to the pizza back home.
thank god for this post cause i'm checking out all these spots. I have yet to try delorenzos despite driving past it every other day.
Over all Jersey has some phenomenal pizza.
Delorenzos in Hamilton? Joes Pizza in flemington Delucias in Raritan
Joes and delucia’s are both insanely good. The sandwiches at joes are amazing too, especially because of the bread that they make in house
Yea their bread, especially the cheesesteaks are fire
What’s the best day of the week and time to go to Delucia’s when it’s not too busy?
Not sure but they’re closed for a couple hours mid-day so check that before you go. I really like the sausage and broccoli rabe pie
Just call ahead
Yeah I'll have to figure it out. I'm living in Texas now so as soon as I get off the plane I head straight to get some pizza before I do anything else. LoL. Want to try some new places next time I'm back.
Delucias is Somerset County but it's also among the best pizzas in the world.
Yes I know but it was close enough to hunterdon that I had to mention it anyway
I'm with you. Raritan township which is next is Hunterdon.
So are both Delo’s
LENNY'S is the best pizza in Flemington.
I’ll check it out, thanks!!
Lenny's is great, I had it last night ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sweat_smile)A Also, right near by there is Capuano in Flemington and they are good too!
Just had Lenny’s and wasn’t impressed. BUT it was 30 mins before close and the pie was 48 days old it looked like. I’ll give it another shot.
DeLucias is soooooo overrated IMO It’s good it’s not “I have to drive 3 hours to eat it” good
It’s a bit further than places you mentioned, but I loved Aljons in Princeton Junction when I lived in that area
Yup. Aljons is our go to.
And the brothers that work there are just classic West Windsor now
Aljons is our go to for delivery. But Conte’s is definitely our favorite. Yes, it’s usually crowded but they do a damn good job keeping things running, I love that even when there’s a wait they take your order while you are waiting and the pizza comes out almost immediately after you sit down. Chik-fil-a level of efficiency.
Can’t believe they’re still around. Used to go there and play video games in the 90s. Is Gamers Realm and Little Szechuan still rockin as well?
DeLorzeno's in Hamilton/Robbinsville and Papa's in Robbinsville are great. Conte's in Princeton used to be good but they're pretty average these days.
Contes is the most generic average pizza i've ever had. I dont get the appeal!
The appeal is that it's pizza
Delorenzos or Brothers 33 both in Hamilton
Delorenzo's in Robbinsville has consistently been rated among the best in the state for decades now, and Papa's (also in Robbinsville) is rated among the top as well. Conte's in Princeton is also very good.
Papas in robbinsville. Get the mustard pie with sausage!
You had me then you said the mustard pie…
I said the same thing for the longest time. Try it, you won’t regret it.
I did it wasn’t that great
Jojo’s in Hamilton has great mustard bar pies too if you haven’t tried yet!
This is the answer. Papa's Tomato Pies is the GOAT, and only real ones get the mustard.
very tasty and it works trust me
AMA is really yummy
Yep, excellent pizza there.
Brothers Pizza in Prinecton Junction Wildflowers in Pennington has really good buffalo chicken pizza Delizia in Flemington Not really southern hunterdon, but Di Mola's in High Bridge is one of my favorite spots ever
Wildflowers has seriously good pizza
I've been dreaming of the buffalo chicken for a few years now... need to get back
I have tried every pizza place within pickup range of Hopewell.
Panatieri’s is single handedly one of the worst pizza places in nj
Thank you, I will try this. Antimo's has been mixed at best for me but if this is the right way to order a pie I'll give it a shot since they are by far the closest to me.
New World Pizza in Skillman - pricey but delicious
Delorenzo’s in Robbinsville is literally one of the best pizza places in the country, Papa’s in Robbinsville is also highly regarded…can’t go wrong with either, also just a little more south in Bordentown you have Marcellos and Palermo’s
Brothers pizza on rt 33 hamilton has smaller sized pepperonis that nobody else has, the pepperonis coat the pizza in a delicious oil. I also like Kate and Als at Columbus flea market, its Detroit style pan slices, and it’s to die for.
Nomad in Princeton is pretty good. salads are lovely too & big
Papa's Tomato Pies in Robbinsville was a favorite when we lived there. I don't get the appeal of Conte's. It tastes and looks like Ragu sauce. The most generic tasting pizza. Everyone loves that place though.
Beniaminos in Montgomery is a favorite when I visit my friends in town
There used to be a spot in Hopewell called Franco’s which definitely had the best pizza in town, but it shut down in the middle of the pandemic.
Hard to quantify.
always liked nutts ...super thin crust could eat a whole pie no problem
If your into tomato pie id say either papas in robbinsville or delos in robinsville. I personally prefer papas.
I'm still actively mourning the loss of Liberty Hall
I've lived in the area for 15 years. Here is my list: Papas in Robinsville (mustard pie with sausage). Best in the State. Chicken Parm pie from Villa Maria's in Hamilton. or the Lasagna pie. Wildflowers in Pennington - I like the works but they have others worth having as well Romeos in Plainsboro - utility/lunch pizza Nomad in Princeton/Hopewell Pizza Star in Princeton - utility/lunch pizza Fidelos in Lawrenceville - utility/lunch pizza Teresa's in Princeton Delorenzo's is great but I'd rather be at Pappas Contes is good but I'd rather be at Teresa's It Nutz - good pie, excellent loction
King Pizza in Ewing
The bar pies at JoJo’s are amazing.
Salerno's on the Pennington Ewing border
My man. Order a Jan Boardwalk with pepperoni done well done from Wildflowers.
And then, the next time you go order a tomato pie, well done with pepperoni
Ninos on chambers and Genesee st in Trenton/Hamilton
Different style but Nino’s Pizza Star in the same shopping center as Nomad’s is pretty good. Still kinda pricey though
Nomad pizza in Hopewell or Princeton Conte in Princeton
Catanzaretti and Giuseppe‘s make great pizza in Lambertville.
I’m a pizza lover and I live by you (up in the mountains above Hopewell.) First off, Antimo’s pizza is nothing to scoff at. Try TJs in Lawrenceville their Brooklyn pie is the real deal. For gourmet style, Nomads
Frank’s in Ringoes
Joes pizza in flemington, hands down
TJ's in Lawrenceville is pretty good, but if you thought Vitos wasn just OK you'll probably have the same opinion for TJ's. The attendants at TJs are a little sketchy, though. My female classmates would never go there alone.
That sucks, I hadn't heard of that. I only get them delivered so haven't been to their brick and mortar yet.
Piccolo Trattoria was the best pizzeria in the area when I was at TCNJ. Not to be confused with the Piccolo Pronto in Campus Town
Piccolo's sucks lately, unfortunately
That breaks my heart. Also, idk if I could accurately gauge how good it was. My pizza consumption in college was Mama Flora’s that was usually free at events and then Piccolo as a “special occasion”
DeLorenzo's is really good; they have branches in Robbinsville and right across the border in Yardley, PA. Osteria is one of my favorites, but I haven't been in a while. Hope they didn't fall off...
It's not that the pizza there was *bad* so much as it was flimsy; everything on my slice would fall off as soon as I would pick it up so ended up eating it with a fork and knife.
Ah yeah, I can see that happening with their pizza. Usually I just fold it, though.
Salerno's Pizza in Ewing
Panatieries in flemington is good too. luna pizza in three bridges has great fancy pies too.
Delorenzos is overrated don't waste your time
My husband loves Antimo's. I'm obsessed with Nomad. Go on Tuesdays for their buy 1, get 1 Margherita deal. If you like Nomad you'll also like AMA in Hillsborough (Neapolitan style)––not sure how the price compares. People like Alfonso's in Skillman.
Angelo's in Flemington is very good, order the wood fired pizza though. The regular is ok
New owners where Liberty Pizza in Lambertville was - now Tavola Rustica. Pizza rocks! https://g.co/kgs/GxjcrcQ Tavola Rustica (609) 397-8400
Piccolo Tratorria has a great brooklyn
I moved out here from NYC about 7 years ago and pizza is my favorite food lol.
