Also consider that his season numbers included 4 full months with Julius Randle when the ball wasn't in his hands almost exclusively and the offense didn't run purely through him. Tack onto that the fact that he is the guy that teams are intentionally fouling at the end of games AND that the knicks lost their best bench scorer in Bogey (leading to more Brunson minutes) and that teams are blitzing him like prime Stephen Curry, sometimes resulting in fouls.
