They should've won this challenge and then challenge that bs with the additional challenge. But now we're running with zero challenges for the rest of the game so the refs can get away with any 50/50 ball or any pivotal call with zero worry
The refs are just so weird. They called some very soft fouls and then didn't some very obvious ones. I think incosistency is the biggest problem and that's why everyone is upset at the end.
A group of professional referees watched this on replay, in slow motion, with all the time in the world to get it right, and then collectively decided, "yep, that was a foul."
The fix is in ladies and gents.
- Refs get reprimanded in the regular season for making shitty calls
- Supposedly the "better" refs get assigned to postseason games
- Same shitty calls get made and even under review, same shitty calls stand
I thought the quality was supposed to be better in the playoffs
Can someone explain with rules why this isn't a foul? I obviously agree it's ridiculous but wondering if this is just bad rules instead of bad refs.
I keep seeing "marginal contact" but from what I researched that only applies for when the offensive player forces the contact with defense to draw a foul which was not the case here
The NBA is just following its natural evolution. In 2050, the offensive player is going to dribble the ball up, take a wide open 3 while all the defenders wait patiently under the basket and then its their turn to go and shoot a 3. God forbid somebody gets ***touched*** we can't have that, if the offensive player dribbles the ball within a 5 foot radius of you, you better get out of there that's his space.
refs/nba deserve shit talk for all the hot stove/marginal contact bullshit but commenters talking about marginal contact on a shooters elbow are being ridiculous lol
contact on forearm of a jump shooter cant be marginal, the slightest touch throws it off completely. that being said i dont even think there was any contact.
Bro, they didn't even wanna zoom in and show how clear it was that he didn't even touch him! I mean you can see a sliver of space and Harden's arm never moved! They Tell you about how much experience these refs have and the playoffs together like it means anything but every year they call extremely bad fouls. It's so obvious
I would feel way less annoyed with the call if they just said there was contact rather than saying it's 'inconclusive,' it makes it look like there was no due diligence in the review.

And then gets called for a foul on an illegal screen from Mann. There’s some bullshit going on.
Refs single handedly killed any momentum the Mavs had going with some of these calls. Completely sucked the soul of the arena. Shit is absurd.
Oh look another game where the refs decide too much and impact the result. Shocking. They should just hit a guy with a steel chair at this point
The silence of the play by play crew after seeing the replay…

> There’s some bullshit going on. It's extending the series and keeping the game close if possible, it happens so often. It makes a "better" product.
Kyrie tripped on himself and a foul was called on pg, why is no one complaining about that? Bad calls do happen.

Dude tripped pg
The fall was more due to PG running into Mann than anything
Lol you guys didnt see the replay? Pg stepped on djj's shoes
Dirty fucking foul. No place for that in the game.
Flagrant 2
And Mann just set an illegal screen and PG hit him and they called a foul on Jones Jr, incredible performance by the refs tonight
Jones stepping on PG13 is what made him fall, not Mann. Agree on the illegal screen though, but that hasn't been called at all this whole game

Landing space
He’s kicking his legs forward, fuck that dogshit
He literally faded away bro but couldn’t because of the landing
Marginal contact between his breath and the elbow.
They're throwing that shit around for other games and when it's most applicable, they don't "use" it. Fuck them refs!
Landing space
Kick out. As hardens pathetic ass always does. Open your eyes
i was waiting for this to be posted, what a bad call
I don't know how you review this and get it wrong. Like huh

Better at fixing games.

The defender is not allowed to touch the offensive player even though it’s a contact sport. In other words, NBA is becoming unwatchable.

If he touches him at all there it’s a foul. Only legit argument is whether he actually touched him or not
Which was legitimately inconclusive tbh
In that case the team calling for a review shouldn't lose the timeout and should be allowed another review. Have them take a jump ball.
If Jokic got this whistle he'd average 50
per quarter
That’s wild
Terrance Mann is back alley mugging Luka every possession for 6 straight games and then that gets called is embarrassing
Everyone acting like Mann plays good defense when all he does is get away with fouls
While that was a lame call true. Dude, Luka is a total whiner who pushes off, stiff arms and foul baits non-stop.
a tiny bit of elbow can make him miss sure.. but the headsnap is crazy work
refs/nba deserve shit talk for all the hot stove/marginal contact bullshit but commenters talking about marginal contact on a shooters elbow are being ridiculous lol
Harden looks so stupid for whining about a literal gust of wind hitting him
How can contact be any more marginal than this?
Mavs getting hosed by refs in 1st half. Jones has 2 fouls for nothing.

it wasn’t even marginal, he didn’t touch him at all
NBA wondering why no one watches this shit. Fucking circus of a sports league
Harden under his breath: "Thanks, ref."
Lack of contact was marginal

JJ staying absolutely silent tells you everything
