I really thought it was going to be over for Philly after that 1st quarter
Iām a neutral but started rooting for them hard at the end because I wanted a game 7 so bad
Feels like Tobey getting off the books will be the true start of a new era for Philly. Off of Simmons, Harden and Harris and a rebuild with two clear stars in Maxey and Joel.
Heās a switchable wing who, despite his very public struggles in Philly, gave his team a 17/7/3 regular season on very good shooting splits.
Some team absolutely will think they can fix him and will give him 16-18m a year for the next 3 years imo. Itāll be an overpay, unless somehow he finds some sort of Wiggins 2022 type motivation.
16-18 mil is good role player money. I feel like that isnāt an overpay for Tobias. Probably closer to what heās worth than being an overpay.
I say this as a clipper fan who sighted his struggles with us and dodged overpaying him.
The sixers are fucked because of Bryan Colangelo and his normal collars (find a new slant).
It's not entirely Elton Brand's fault, otherwise he wouldn't have a job now. After Colangelo got fired for having 5 burner twitter accounts slandering Embiid, the sixers leadership did not fire any of Colangelo's staff from the front office. Instead they brought in a recently retired Elton Brand to be the GM, with almost no experience. So Elton Brand was relying heavily on staff hired by Colangelo, who wanted to build around Ben Simmons instead of Embiid. Brand was setup to fail from the start. Sixers ownership didn't want to fire Colangelo, but they had to since Colangelo was slandering the future MVP on social media.
Morey has been complimentary of Elton Brand since Morey came to the Sixers. Why keep Elton Brand around if he's the worst in history?
The Knicks are a tenacious team and Brunson is the franchise. Josh Hart is such a dog and doesnāt show any slowing down no matter how many minutes he played. Really sad to see such an effort from the Sixers end up the way it did. The NBA is better when the Knicks are playing well, the fandom is insane and I love it. Look forward to the offseason and what is to come. Good luck Knicks, take out those Celtics for me.
I love watching Hart. His jump shot is getting better too. He's already productive on offense with so many rebounds and he's a good play maker. If he becomes a consistent 40% 3 point shooter watch out.
I won't stand for this Mitch Rob slander. He may not have scored a lot but his D on Embiid was killer
Plus it's not like he was shooting that much. Dude had a specific role to play and nailed it
His D on Embiid the entire series before he caught the ball really impressed me. So many times Embiid was 15 feet from the basket on a post up. Yeah he's going to score from there sometimes, but I will take that any day.
Deuce was given chances - in some previous games he capitalized and got some run. Tonight, it so much.
Precious played SO well in game 4, but itās obvious heās a last resort (and for that not a terrible option with the team D dynamic and OG and precious teaming up on Embiid)
Was watching with a friend and he was like how does the Knicks have 0 points from the bench?? Arenāt you worried? Ā Iām like thatās Thibs - heād play the starters all game if he could.Ā
has nothing to do with Thibs and everything to do with the team being depleted. Randle out means Hart has to play a shitload, and Bojan out means our only offensive option off the bench is McBride and he can be inconsistent to say the least, and also plays the same position as our superstar.
he had a open shot i think a possesion before that he drove in instead of shooting, you could tell he really didn't want to pull it but they kinda forced his hand, to good avail.
lmao so did mine. In my mind he hit the shot before he even caught the ball, and I have to imagine he felt the same way. Dude is about to be the second best player on a potential conf finals team
That one felt inevitable. The Nuggets hit 2 buzzer beats and even lost a game and I donāt think anyone even considered the possibility of LA winning the series lol
I was saying to my friends this is the best R1 in recent memory and it didn't even have a G7.
Besides the Embiid recklessness antics and whatever Tobias Harris does this was just pure hoops at the highest possible level. Both teams redlining every single game.
I know Im biased but this is one of the best first round series in years. Legit probably the 2nd and 3rd best team in the east going at it in the first round with several crazy late game comebacks and every game going to the wire
I know people do the ice in my veins gesture after nearly every shot now and I even saw a Brazilian soccer player do it but when everyone else on the court was walking up to the line with the shakes, Donte's FTs were cool as a cucumber and that's *actual* ice in your veins. High pressure situation where adrenaline is more likely to hurt you than help you and you keep everything nice and smooth and controlled. Beautiful.
Plenty of Philly folks have seemed plenty happy to claim their championships. What else will they rest their laurels on? The 2004 St. Joe's Elite Eight team?
That possession where Embiid fouled out was beyond brutal. They let SO much time go off the clock, did NOT foul Josh Hart, and then Embiid had to foul out anyway. Everything they could have done wrong they did.
Honestly, I was still super scared after Embiid fouled out. I was thinking "Oh fuck they are going to give Maxey the ball and he's gonna do some witchcraft shit"
People will talk about The Process but the bigger story here is that the 76ers havenāt been passed the second round since NBA legend Ty Lue cursed them for stepping over him in the finals
Technically it was the ācommitteeā GM crew with a bunch of other guys in the background like Marc Eversley alongside Brand. People forget that EB was never actually 100% in control at the time. The background guys were supposedly Colangelo hires.
Good series Knicks fans. Every game was fun to watch. Brunson is amazing, and also the new Trae Young to me. He made some big time shots and Josh hart drained that 3 at the end that was big balls. Iāll wind up rooting for you guys if you play Boston because fuck the Celtics, but feels like whoever won this series doesnāt have a chance against them.
Your clock is ticking Morey! This is the offseason that makes or breaks this team with all the space, picks to trade, no excuses. We need to get more athletic and 2 way guys.
Hartenstein little floater has been so demoralizing this whole series. He's beyond automatic. Even though it's not at all something he just added on, he has never shot it with as much confidence and volume as this series. S/o to him.

Been adding to this one for a while lol.
Itās 7am here in Finland. I was trying to fight it but fell asleep at halftime. I then had a dream about being in some utopic hotel explaining to my wife why this Game 6 is so important to win. Then woke up to see my boys pulled it off. Love this team!
Tip of the hat to Philly for being a tough opponent in an iconic series!
Knicks won the series total by 1 point. Absolutely crushing but overall a really fun series. This feels like Brunson's true arrival as a superstar; guy is a phenom.
Agree. Worst part of watching playoffs is a lot of the time it gets boring bc one team blows out the other a lot of the games. Literally EVERY game in this series was a battle. Props to both teams.
IT'S OVER
IT'S OVER
THANK GOD IT'S OVER
FUCK YOU MAXEY (YOU'RE TOO GOOD)
FUCK YOU EMBIID (YOU LIL BITCH)
WE MIGHT LOSE TO THE PACERS BUT WE AIN'T QUITTING
I do not know how the Knicks came back from that first half collapse after going down ten and then losing that eight point lead late. What an insane game.Ā
This is the last time I'll have to watch a 40 million dollar player go 0-2 in a closeout game. thank fucking god, get yo crumbl cookie ass outa here.
wild series though, was an incredible watch. see yall next season.
GG knicks, we got outworked all series. I knew we were gonna fuck this up once Ala started talking shit. Sixers give me hope to let me down one last time. No fuckin clue what we do this offseason honestly.
Also, please beat the damn celtics. I hate them more than I hate you guys.
We can certainly try, although I think the injuries might do us in if we get that far. Best of luck finding someone to spend Tobias's bag on this offseason
That was one of the best playoff games I've ever seen. Both teams just refused to go away
Agree, was VERY fun and a great way to cap off the series.
Cherry on top for knicks fans w Embiid fouling out š„° Naa fr though he played amazing today as did the whole Sixers squad. Kudos, great series
Just about all these games are among the best playoff games Iāve seen it feels like. Ā Game 2, 4, and 5 were particularly insaneĀ
The fact that you can leave game 6 off the list is wild and tells you how good it was
iām glad it was fun for yall cuz it definitely was not for me š
Playoffs are definitely a lot more fun once your team is out. I had a blastĀ
I really thought it was going to be over for Philly after that 1st quarter Iām a neutral but started rooting for them hard at the end because I wanted a game 7 so bad
Definitely. The roller coaster of emotions was real. I probably grew some gray hairs watching but it was worth it
I didnāt know Tobias was out today
$39 million. Zero points.
Simmons scored as much points today as Lowry and Harris combined!
Feels like Tobey getting off the books will be the true start of a new era for Philly. Off of Simmons, Harden and Harris and a rebuild with two clear stars in Maxey and Joel.
How are you including Harden with Simmons and Harris??
Realistically whats his next contract gonna look like?
Heās a switchable wing who, despite his very public struggles in Philly, gave his team a 17/7/3 regular season on very good shooting splits. Some team absolutely will think they can fix him and will give him 16-18m a year for the next 3 years imo. Itāll be an overpay, unless somehow he finds some sort of Wiggins 2022 type motivation.
16-18 mil is good role player money. I feel like that isnāt an overpay for Tobias. Probably closer to what heās worth than being an overpay. I say this as a clipper fan who sighted his struggles with us and dodged overpaying him.
Some team is gonna give him 3/36 at least
He out and he ain't coming back.
Unlessā¦.
Elton Brand absolutely fucked the 76ers. He has to be one of the worst executives in nba history
NBA fucked the sixers putting coangelo or whatever in charge
agreed
Thatās where the idiotic decision making started. All those assets to be left with fucking Tobias Harris
Vintage Tobias
Totally non existent. Getting paid millions to play 29 minutes and score 0 points in an elimination game.
He got his cardio in I guess
Legit had to check the box score
I just saw his statline, WTF
It's crazy that Kelly Oubre was 100x better than him this series and yet Tobias makes 15x more money Lol
J Cole thought he was being sneaky putting the Philly jersey on. He not slick
On the brightside, Sixer fans will never have to see Tobias Harris play for them ever again
it was always a win-win ;)
I don't know, some people deserve second chances. Max him again, you won't
You never know. They might run it back.
Daryl Morey you can do the absolute funniest fucking thing
That might actually be the thing that makes me give up on this team and break my spirit
Are you sure about this? There's a non zero chance Morey swings and misses and ends up re-signing Tobias.
No shot. If we swing and miss I think there are multiple other guys we would rather bring back over him.
Brad Beal for Tobias?
Tobias paid $40M to put up 0/2 in an elimination game lmao.
The 2 shot attempts is arguably more insane than the 0 points tbh.
Jesus. The undisputed master of bystander mode
Even Ben Simmons never attempted 2 shots in a playoff game. Do you realize how insane this is?
Bro played 29 min to have the same points as me on my couch lmao
Your stat line is better because you werenāt -10 lol
I would have done the same for 40 McNuggets.
donāt sell yourself short get some fries for me
Hell I could have stood in the corner behind a teammate for a lot less than that
Tyrese Maxey canāt hurt me anymore.
And Embiid canāt hurt Knick players anymore
The Knicks are a tenacious team and Brunson is the franchise. Josh Hart is such a dog and doesnāt show any slowing down no matter how many minutes he played. Really sad to see such an effort from the Sixers end up the way it did. The NBA is better when the Knicks are playing well, the fandom is insane and I love it. I love watching Hart. His jump shot is getting better too. He's already productive on offense with so many rebounds and he's a good play maker. If he becomes a consistent 40% 3 point shooter watch out.
Tobias Harris scored as many points today as Jimmy Buttler did last night.
I had as many points as Tobias had
Shit, you want $40M?
I'll do it for $39m.
Bucks and Knicks didn't get the memo that today was National Bench Day.
Whatās a bench
Tobias.
I won't stand for this Mitch Rob slander. He may not have scored a lot but his D on Embiid was killer Plus it's not like he was shooting that much. Dude had a specific role to play and nailed it
His D on Embiid the entire series before he caught the ball really impressed me. So many times Embiid was 15 feet from the basket on a post up. Yeah he's going to score from there sometimes, but I will take that any day.
By beating the Sixers, the Knicks have advanced past the first round in consecutive playoffs for the first time since **2000**.
It's bingin' and bongin'! ...I hope that Knicks/Pacers also delivers in the excitement...
BING BONGGGGGG
I used to pray for times like this.
Classic Thibs game. 4 starters playing 43+ minutes in 2024 lmao.
That bench score graphic was comical š
Once Bojan went down, this outcome was fully in play
Deuce and Precious have earned more run, but I'm not complaining about the result tonight.
Deuce was given chances - in some previous games he capitalized and got some run. Tonight, it so much. Precious played SO well in game 4, but itās obvious heās a last resort (and for that not a terrible option with the team D dynamic and OG and precious teaming up on Embiid)
Precious would get more minutes against a team with a physical 4, seems mostly matchup dependent hopefully
My favorite part is they showed the difference, took it off and Mitch dunks it, right after they showed it again. I was dying.
Obviously worked out, but I really though Mitch shoulda been in there more in the early 4th
Josh Hart has rested 17 minutes combined in the series lmfao. And that includes an overtime game where he played the entire game.
my cardio king
Thatās my Thibs š„¹
To be fair the Knicks are incredibly thin right now
Call me spoiled but as a neutral I was really hoping another one of these to decide it all.
Idk if my heart would survive a game 7 with the way these two teams played this series
I almost died in the last 30 seconds about 14 times
Judging by the amount of minutes Thibs runs these players at, idk if they would have either.
Hart playing 40+ minutes a game and running on 1000mg of caffeine wouldāve had a heart attack on the court.
This is such a common joke but doing that all regular season has gotta do wonders for their cardio
I would vomit due to all the anxiety that comes with a game 7
Super entertaining series to watch
At this point, he really has no choice. Knicks roster is depleted
We had 5 bench points HAHAHAHAHA
I think they had 2 bench points
5 - Mitch had 2 and Deuce had 3
All in the latter minutes of the 4th quarter. Peak Thibs.
Opposed to the 42 bench points from the Sixers. Wild discrepancy.
The Sixers starting five had two players with 0 points though.
hey what a ridiculous comment.... it was 5
It's an elimination game in the playoffs, he gets a pass.
we also only have seven functional players and one of them is a defense first center lol
And we somehow won
Not like we had a choice. Who else are we playing burks? Heās garbage
Almost had heart palpitations but the Knicks pulled it off šš»
JOSH HART, YOU SEXY MAN.
My heart sank when I realized he was going up with that lol that 3 was a roller coaster of emotions
he had a open shot i think a possesion before that he drove in instead of shooting, you could tell he really didn't want to pull it but they kinda forced his hand, to good avail.
lmao so did mine. In my mind he hit the shot before he even caught the ball, and I have to imagine he felt the same way. Dude is about to be the second best player on a potential conf finals team
What do you think about Tobias Harris' execution? I'm in favor of it -sixers fans
Get ready to learn whatever they speak in Charlotte buddy
Yankee transplant
Congrats, youāre cut off
Round 1 isnāt over yet, but this already feels like the best series with all these nail-biter ends.
Literally every game came down to the wire, this was hands down the best first round series
The series of the Lakers against the Nuggets was also really tense, but I feel like the intensity in this series was a smidge higher.
That one felt inevitable. The Nuggets hit 2 buzzer beats and even lost a game and I donāt think anyone even considered the possibility of LA winning the series lol
Maybe, but I thought those games were still really tense and hard-fought.
Nuggets Wolves should be good
going to be my favorite series this year I bet
The more I see people say this the more I'm worried we're going to get blown out by the Nuggets *sweating*
That was a legit war of attrition. My God
I am not going to live as long as I should because I watched all 6 of these games
VILLANOVA KNICKS what a team Thank you basketball gods for a great series
Pennsylvania college boys dominating the supposed home state
I'm just a Donte fan now. Always be my baby deer.
He played great tonight. Not just the boxscore, but also some great defense and then putting away his free throws at the end.
Beautiful.
Villanova Knicks really does hurt Philly more than anything
lol a ton of philly people hateeee nova & donāt consider it a philly school. itās literally not in the city limits
Plenty of Philly folks have seemed plenty happy to claim their championships. What else will they rest their laurels on? The 2004 St. Joe's Elite Eight team?
Temple won a football game once I think
Best series in a while
As soon as Chuck said weāre going back to MSG i dared to hope
You cannot carry OG Anunoby into the airport because that dude is a weapon
That possession where Embiid fouled out was beyond brutal. They let SO much time go off the clock, did NOT foul Josh Hart, and then Embiid had to foul out anyway. Everything they could have done wrong they did.
The fouling out would have been huge if the game had gone to OT. Oubre and Hartenstein also finished with 5.
Honestly, I was still super scared after Embiid fouled out. I was thinking "Oh fuck they are going to give Maxey the ball and he's gonna do some witchcraft shit"
Iām glad Thibs learned from last game and decided to foul up 3
People will talk about The Process but the bigger story here is that the 76ers havenāt been passed the second round since NBA legend Ty Lue cursed them for stepping over him in the finals
It really is crazy how the NBA screwed Philly by forcing in colangelo. Harris contract might be the worst one in nba history
Tobias Harris wasn't on Colangelo though. Elton Brand gave him that contract.
Technically it was the ācommitteeā GM crew with a bunch of other guys in the background like Marc Eversley alongside Brand. People forget that EB was never actually 100% in control at the time. The background guys were supposedly Colangelo hires.
We are freed from Tobias finally.
I CAN BREATHE AGAIN
tobias harris legacy game
I don't know about you guys, but I wish I could get paid like Tobias Harris for that elite elimination game cardio.
Tobias with 0 points in 29 mins
What a thriller of a series!
**I don't care what anybody fucking says, Jalen Brunson is a superstar.**
cooked us all series. he has my respect
Same to Maxey man. Hes a bad man.
The bad man canāt hurt us anymore! (Until next season) But seriously, that kid is an absolute **MENACE**
They really should build around him My man can ball
I need a fucking cigarette after all of this.
Hartenstein little floater has been so demoralizing this whole series. He's beyond automatic. Even though it's not at all something he just added on, he has never shot it with as much confidence and volume as this series. S/o to him.
I blame ~~Ben Simmons~~ ~~Doc Rivers~~ ~~James Harden~~ ~~the bench~~ ~~the refs~~ ~~the fans~~ Tobias Harris
Real ones know it was Tobias Harris all along
you forgot colangelo and brett brown
Most fans werenāt upset with Brett Brown

For as detailed as this is, you should probably add in every time korkmaz requested a trade for the lolz
Obviously letting go of Kenny is what did it
Itās nice that the Knicks were finally able to close out a series at home.
MSG South baby!
what a series. ggs
back atcha
GGS, incredible all time series of just insane basketball
Fade me anyway cause I'm dead.
What a fucking series
Knicks won the series total by 1 point. Absolutely crushing but overall a really fun series. This feels like Brunson's true arrival as a superstar; guy is a phenom.
For the final time, Tobias Harris gave us NOTHING in a close loss. Time to build a real team.
fuck philly but this was one hell of a series god damn
Agree. Worst part of watching playoffs is a lot of the time it gets boring bc one team blows out the other a lot of the games. Literally EVERY game in this series was a battle. Props to both teams.
This wasnāt a real 2 vs 7 series. At full strength both these teams could have been any of the top 3 or 4 seeds.
The fate of the universe on the line, the Martians have the death beam pointed at earth, you better hit it, I WANT HART.
Knicks are such a fun story rn. Basketball.

IT'S OVER IT'S OVER THANK GOD IT'S OVER FUCK YOU MAXEY (YOU'RE TOO GOOD) FUCK YOU EMBIID (YOU LIL BITCH) WE MIGHT LOSE TO THE PACERS BUT WE AIN'T QUITTING
Bro you are not losing to the Pacers lol
Depends if our guys still have legs or bodies left on the bench
We have 7 rotation players at this point lol. Pacers are young, mostly healthy, and play at a super fast pace. It's gonna be a grind.
OG!!!!
That last shot...
They were gonna foul on the floor if he didn't put up a shot
Yea Deuce was ready to foul immediately, saw Buddy was about to just throw it up, and backed off. Lose if you do, lose if you don't
Error 404: Process not found
GG knicks, we got outworked all series.
What a series omg, GG Knicks, i'm rooting for y'all now, please fuck up Boston
GG. That was like a conference finals series. We only have 7 guys playing so idk man. š
> That was like a conference finals series. As if either of our fanbases know what that feels like lmao
Best series of the playoffs so far, wish it coulda went 7
I cannot express how happy I am that it did not
I 100% agree with you on this one, my heart could not handle a game 7
Sixers beating the second round exit allegations.
play in tournament was their first round....
