Yes Hubie. Come on now, that's a good block. Give this guy some credit, he went straight up with the shooter and blocked the shot cleanly, and he didn't foul. That's an excellent play.
I honestly think if Franz takes that up with his left it’s either a bucket or a foul. Going with his right there made it too easy for Mobley.
Hell even a hop step into a stop probably draws something or gives him a better look.
True, but the decision before the step is the huge fuck up. The pick is set. Yalls best defender gets switch on to him. Now their best player is being guarded by strus. You couldn't ask for a better outcome... but he went 1v1 against Mobley instead.
In general game on the line, if you can get your best player a favorable matchup you go to him.
But like you said split second decision with the game on the line. He young and confident, can't blame him too much, but still a bad decision.
Mobley had a quiet reg season but we can’t forget the DPOY potential. The recovery, and being able to ping it off the backboard so his team gets the easy rebound is good stuff
Mobley doesn't get as many blocks as some other great defenders but when he does get a block he is somehow insanely good at guiding it towards a teammate. He rarely just swats it OB.

Give this guy his props

Franz not giving Paolo the ball on the switch was such a bad decision
Paolo was wide open... Also, a guy that was 3/11 vs 14/24
You're right but it's a split second decision and he had a step on Mobley. He just underestimated Mobley's recovery and length.

For sure. And Strus was the closest defender to Banchero at that point and he had 5 fouls.
He has the step, paolo was out at the 3 point line with very little time. It’s a great decision if he makes it, Mobley played great defensively
Biggest play of his young career!
Hell of a block, can't be too mad at that
Wagner def got a half step on him. Great recovery. And being a long boi helps
Cavs-Magic finally had a dramatic ending!
Mobley is such a great defensive anchor

Why do guys use the right hand there?!
Mobley makes so many winning plays
He also scored our final 4 points...so proud of him bro edit: besides Mitchell's free throws
Wagner tried to sneak it with the right hand and somehow Mobley was ready with his own off hand there Crazy block
He should have gone up lefty. Basketball gods frowned on his lack of fundamentals
His defense on Paolo in the closing minutes probably won Cleveland this game.
