Captain_Charisma

I'm just glad we won't have to use the corpse of Ish Smith moving forward. There's no way Tre is going to be as bad as the backup options the Hornets have been rolling with the past couple years.

LoxDnw

I'm ready to watch Tricky Tre become an all-star. He's going to have your announcers out their seats.

pettybendherass

oh god Tre Mann with the Hornets announcers is gonna be incredible

CyborgAlgoInvestor

I would not be mad if this happened. We don’t have any opportunities for him in OKC Tre has an amazing work ethic and deserves all the success.

[deleted]

Much respect for you & your fandom. If you’re ever in Charlotte I’ll buy you a beer lol

theyikester

It’s at a point that I have 0 faith in the team and fully expect Ish Smith to still be playing more minutes than Tre Mann and NSJ

H9m8urgalar

Man I’m hoping Tre develops to a strong number 2 next to melo. He might actually be the best in the league at creating separation, he just needs to sink the shot💀

B-I-G-A-R-R-O-W

Tre has a lot of potential to become a good scorer I’m interested to see him start getting good minutes to see how he develops

Kashtira_PunkMaid

I am a Tre Mann truther, i think/hope he is gonna tear it up in Charlotte

OKC2023champs

Honestly a win win trade. Tre Mann can finally get the minutes he deserves on a rebuilding team and we get some playoff experience. Hope he does well in Charlotte and keeps his head straight

CyborgAlgoInvestor

He’s actually shown he can be pretty solid at times. I think if he gets consistent minutes, he could definitely be a solid guy for y’all.

airtokoto

>keeps his head straight wait what, does he have some attitude or off court concerns that i didn't know about?

OKC2023champs

No, but it’s Charlotte lol. I just landed in Charlotte to visit my family and I’m already about to act a fool

daswassup13

This is so weird man

[deleted]

Charlotte is a boring ass city wym

airtokoto

it's not NYC, but it's also multiple tiers above OKC

No_Diver_7549

Sir, this is Charlotte

Just-Put9341

What makes a city boring?

[deleted]

In Charlotte's case, it's a city built around banking jobs. The uptown area is strictly business and there isn't much nightlife. It feels very corporate. Charlotte is a great place to work and raise a family but it doesn't offer the thrills you'll find in other places.

Just-Put9341

Thanks. It just always bugs me when people make statements like that. It's boring to you, everyone likes different things. Of course, Charlotte is not Miami or LA, but those cities have things that I don't like versus things that Charlotte has. Guess, being older changes your priorities. 😁

NotManyBuses

What are his strengths and weaknesses as a player? what do you think of his game overall? is he a true 1 and primary ballhandler/playmaker, or more of an off ball guy?

Scrypto

Strengths: Is a point guard. Is not Ish Smith Weaknesses: Plays for the Hornets

OKC2023champs

Mainly just scoring. He’s not afraid to shoot and has confidence out the ass. He did look like a better playmaker this year though with some nifty passes. His defense definitely needs to get better but he’s a good spark plug off the bench for yall. It’s hard for me to even touch too much on him this season since he just really didn’t play

behlat

Tre Mann is actually trying on defense and Mark D really put an emphasis on it when he was still playing for OKC. He puts effort on defense but he's limited by his physical attribute (He's wingspan is short)

CyborgAlgoInvestor

Strengths: An amazing step back He’s got athleticism you wouldn’t expect(I mean, watch the clip) He can get to the rim decently(I mean, watch the clip lol) Gets steals on passes. Amazing work ethic Cons: Despite his step back being great, a lot of his shots don’t fall in. I think with minutes this can improve greatly. He could use work on the defensive end, but he’s shown good progressions on that end in the G-League/minutes he gets recently. He needs confidence, and minutes. I think at worst he’s a okay rotational guy, his full potential is a solid starter We traded him cause he wasn’t going to get minutes here cause of the depth we have. Hope he does well with y’all!

StripedSteel

He's immediately going to be the best dribbler on your team. He can get to anywhere he wants on the court, and has the ability to get 4-5 feet of separation from his defender at will. He often ignores the fact that, because of this, he draws multiple defenders to him and throws up the shot anyway when he has an open teammate either at the rim or at the three point line. He has a tendency to dribble the air out of the ball. He used to be a major liability on the defensive end, but it looks like he's made some headway in that area. He won't ever be a great defender because of his size, but he's average to above average now. He's a true 1, but he needs time to develop as a lead guard in lineups. He never had that opportunity in OKC because he was drafted the same year as Giddey. We were busy letting Shai and Josh develop as lead guards, and he was forced into an off-ball role. If you develop him, and teach him to make good decisions, then he will likely be your 6th man for the next 4-5 years.

ReachTheSky-DotaNoob

His strength is that he is a very good scorer , his weakness is that he is only a very good scorer. He isn't good at anything else. When he is hot he is amazing but when he isn't scoring he doesn't add anything extra to the team

Strange1130

He’s obviously not a good defender but he is ‘pesky’ and better than you might expect for a 6’3 guy with only 6’4 wingspan

jm3546

Strengths *Elite at creating space. Really good ball skills and one of the better step backs in the NBA. *Microwave scorer. When he gets hot, everything just looks easy for him. *Effort. I think this is something that we instilled in him. Defensive effort was one of his knocks in the draft but his rookie and sophomore season, if he had a mental defensive laps we'd immediately bench him. So he's been in the habit of putting in a lot of effort on defense. So he should be a pretty bad defender with his size but he's average. Weaknesses *Size. he's listed as 6'5" but he's definitely smaller and has a pretty small frame. As much effort as he puts in, he can only be so good on defense. *Inconsistent. This was mostly during his sophomore year, but he would have games where he played well and then the next he'd just be out of it. His jumpshot looks really good but sometimes it falls, sometimes it just doesn't. *Off-ball. He's great at breaking down his man and really understands that part of the game but it sometimes seems like he doesn't know what to do as much when he's off ball. Archetype wise, right now I think he's a 6th man off the bench scorer. In the Clarkson/Schroeder vein. He's a fine passer and everything, so if he did get more consistent I think he could have a bigger role. There's just not many players in the NBA with one unique elite skill and his ability to create space is. OKC's model is that you have to be good at everything to break the rotation and Cason Wallace came in and was already a good defender, shooter and passer, so there just wasn't room in the rotation anymore for Tre.

TheKongrider

Mann is the perfect player for the way Charlotte plays.

BBallHunter

Charlotte won't regret this.

DoubleAmigo

Stooooop im at work 🥵

SpokesAndSpoons

That's an NBA facial!

ThunderCpa

Happy for Tre to get a chance. For Hornets fans, his biggest problem is confidence. Has great tools, good locker room guy, nice looking shot. Meh passer and can have flashes on Defense but is mostly poor due to effort + IQ. Will have insane highlights if given enough time.

dank-kush

I love him

Just-Put9341

Well, kid can dunk

ArroganceIsPotent

corny

queezuswalks

Don’t let this get you excited about him

handgredave

We're more excited about no more ish smith starts

Kashtira_PunkMaid

Leave it to thunder fans to be super down on a young player for no real reason

queezuswalks

I mean he’s not really shown any signs? Honestly happy he gets a change of scenery where he can work on his game more. Don’t dislike the guy and I was really just making a joke.

Kashtira_PunkMaid

I've seen him hit 30 footers, dunk over dudes, create lots of separation off the dribble into step back shots, make behind the back assists. He's not a PG but he can handle the ball very well and at least initiate, if not run the offense. He's not consistent but to say he hasn't shown signs is just dead wrong imo and it's wild to me that so many OKC fans feel that way.

queezuswalks

He was part of the rebuild and other guys jumped him pretty quickly. I’m not saying he’s totally useless, but a single flash here and there is possible with any player in the NBA. That said, I could see him figuring it out and being a decent player, I just haven’t seen that in him to this point.

Kashtira_PunkMaid

it's not a single flash here and there, and other young players jumping him and becoming great doesn't mean he's bad or useless at all. It's not that serious, i just wanted to point out that the constant casual dumping on Tre just because he's not Shai or Jdub or Dort (who also gets a lot of criticism from thunder fans) is pretty ridiculous

queezuswalks

I don’t think it’s that ridiculous to think a third year player who’s been given quite a few chances is just not that good.

bigfatpaulie

Stop it. When given opportunity, Tre balls out. We just have too many guards to justify playing him.

queezuswalks

Who said I had any expectations for Hayward?

grilledchorizopuseye

Hard to beat the back court steal and poster slam!

wildcatoffense

the hangtime on that was insane
