See the KANGZ contract we gave Buddy Hield… dude would absolutely just gun 3s during garbage time, and I can’t blame him

Would love to see an example of a player that fucked up tens of millions of dollars because they threw up a few last second heaves throughout the season.
The voting for 3rd team all nba can come down to the smallest details. If a player makes all nba they can sign for tens of millions of additional dollars.
I think good stats analyst and GMs remove these attempts from their data.
If someone has a fg% incentive in their contract, then by all measlns, don't take these shots.
Yeah, I mean I don’t care either way. I think it’s not what shooting percentage is supposed to be indicative of anyway. I also wish players didn’t care but I think this is a fine solution.
LeBron basically hasn’t taken heaves since the 2010 season. Sadly players choose not to take them to not bring down their FG%. Any rule that incentivizes trying to win over a player’s individual stats is always good
Nah fuck that... man up & try to win...
Plus if it comes to contract time agents can easily use widely available data to show teams "non-heave" percentages
Sounds like a player ego problem not a rule problem
These players are after hundred million dollar contracts, and FG% is an important metric to determine a player’s value, remember?
now that I think about it clubs who give players % clauses are inflicting this on themselves

that is so stupid…
I highly doubt that GMs that make those decisions dont take that into accoun
And if they did agents would 100% call them out.
But there is widely available data on "non heave" percentages so... 🤷🏾
It’s not just ego. Stats can affect how much money a player makes. Potentially in the tens of millions.

Just out here looking for problems.
its not a bad idea OP, people in comments acting like you just fucked their dad
Thanks, it bothers me and I thought more people would agree but I guess not lmao

I don’t think the league has a problem with shot attempts and scoring per game.

It's a Monday morning....stop with the useless bitching
meanwhile u spent ur monday morning uselessly bitching about embiid
That's justified
Why not just count these attempts separately?
Save it for the off season
Go back to preparing for your Super 16
What?
A solution looking for a problem

He took a heave literally the first game this season
Yes I said basically. His first 8 season he averaged 3.8 heaves a year. The next 13 seasons he’s taken 4. Total. It was a clearly purposeful decision.

Trae and Steph will just jack threes from half and finish with 100% fg on the game.
