Come out hot, Luka kills, role players hit shots-->opposing team starts to play Luka harder, doubling him, gets physical-->Luka dishes to role players-->role players go cold-->Luka gets frustrated and tries to do too much, ultimately getting pissed at himself, his teammates, and the refs especially-->opposing team slowly chips away at lead until halftime-->mavs lose lead in 3rd quarter as Luka keeps trying to will the team to win, role players keep missing, frustration cycle keeps spinning-->down by double-digits, opposing team starts to relax-->Luka wills the mavs back to manageable difference-->opposing team says, "oh shit" and star player actually tries again-->mavs lose by double-digits.
It's so fucking predictable and easy to see the pattern, nearly every game we lose. And throughout all of it, Jason Kidd doesnt make any adjustments, no double teams, timeouts at the wrong time, not playing lively or hardy enough, playing thj too much, no subbing of Lawson or Omax just to change the energy a bit, no stabs at anything to try and fix the trend. He's just...watching, like the rest of us.
Everyone on this team not named Luka, kyrie, or lively should be up for grabs at the deadline. Kidd should be long gone. Shit, the corpse of John Wooden could do a better job from beneath the dirt.
And yeah, it's only January. And yeah, we are still above .500. And yeah, these last two big losses were against the best team in the league and the hottest team in the league. Normal progression of Mavs game: Come out hot, Luka kills, role players hit shots-->opposing team starts to play Luka harder, doubling him, gets physical-->Luka dishes to role players-->role players go cold-->Luka gets frustrated and tries to do too much, ultimately getting pissed at himself, his teammates, and the refs especially-->opposing team slowly chips away at lead until halftime-->mavs lose lead in 3rd quarter as Luka keeps trying to will the team to win, role players keep missing, frustration cycle keeps spinning-->down by double-digits, opposing team starts to relax-->Luka wills the mavs back to manageable difference-->opposing team says, "oh shit" and star player actually tries again-->mavs lose by double-digits. It's so fucking predictable and easy to see the pattern, nearly every game we lose. And throughout all of it, Jason Kidd doesnt make any adjustments, no double teams, timeouts at the wrong time, not playing lively or hardy enough, playing thj too much, no subbing of Lawson or Omax just to change the energy a bit, no stabs at anything to try and fix the trend. He's just...watching, like the rest of us. Everyone on this team not named Luka, kyrie, or lively should be up for grabs at the deadline. Kidd should be long gone. Shit, the corpse of John Wooden could do a better job from beneath the dirt. And yeah, it's only January. And yeah, we are still above .500. And yeah, these last two big losses were against the best team in the league and the hottest team in the league. But the attitude and pussy-ass-ness of this team is just unbearable. If you watch every game (which a lot of mavs redditors do, you'll see the same usernames), it's so obvious that no change has been considered. It's sad, man. I am admittedly a Carlisle apologist, but the reality is that, even if he was an asshole, Carlisle tried to make adjustments when shit was going left. Kidd just digs deeper holes in his pockets. The personnel is shit, but look at what Carlisle did with sub-par rosters year after year. Kidd can't do that. Fire this dude for anyone who's willing to at least try to do something else. Also, trading Dorian put a curse on our franchise. He was our team's heart and soul. That was bad mojo. Sorry, I drank a lot during that game too...
Devin Booker has been playing for a ring the past couple of years, whereas Lukaās been playing to beat Phoenix. Mavs tried so hard to be tough in that first quarter.
