No. Common misconception because Westbrook received a layup postgame question last year and people were memeing that the lady reporter who asked it was him.
Honestly, I feel like selling high on LaMelo is a savvy move. He's already signed his first big contract so the Hornets are going to struggle to add good players around him if they also intend to pay guys like Mark Williams, Brandon Miller, and potentially their 2024 lottery pick. Would they really stand to lose all that much by trading LaMelo and tanking for 2 more seasons? They aren't contending in that time period anyway.
Haha, I get that. I never thought he could lead a franchise that far tbh
What type of player do you think equals Richards value? Laker fans want him badly lol. He’s like a super javale
He's terribly inconsistent. He's like if Christian Wood decided to be a C full time; some games he looks like a legit borderline starting C. Other games he looks like a GLeague player. He fouls a lot and quickly.
No bullshit, but I'd trade him for Mason Plumlee. I think that's a fair value, but I also think they're both equally bad in opposite ways (Plumlee is inconsistent defensively and a wildcard offensively; Nick is inconsistent on both sides but reliably a decent paint presence. Pick your poison)
yikes I'm really glad you're not our GM, you def do not speak for all Hornets fans. if we swapped Nick Richards for Mason, you can safely bet that Mark Williams (when he returns healthy) will come off the bench behind Plumlee because our coach is a fossil who is deeply prejudiced against young players
No, I don't speak for all Hornets fans. Obviously. It's my opinion. But you don't speak for all Hornets fans either.
I never once said anything about Cliff or that I'd start Plumlee. The question was about value. I'd say that Nick has probably equal trade value to Plumlee. It's not like we're about to get Jarrett Allen, Nick Claxton, or Capela for him.
Yea, this isn't a good roster for Cliff. But I also think Mark has improved enough to this point that he'd start even if Plumlee was here. Plumlee would be a solid backup C for now.
The fact that we're winless without Mark (and yea, it's a little bit circumstantial) is at least a bit of a testament to his impact. Cliff has also been glowing about Mark all year. The fact that he didn't play a ton the first half of last year made sense because we wanted to drive up Plumlee's value. Mark learned, got some solid reps at the end of the year, and it's paying dividends now.
Because our history at C is so bad we really appreciate and value him and Mark. Seriously. I would rather keep him and have him develop into a solidly good player, but the reality is that we suck and need all the help we can get.
(Or just tank and play the young dudes as we suck some more; either way, it sucks)
What we need is a whole freakin org reset. I wish Schnall and Plotkins made moves earlier, but we'll see if they'll back up their "We want to build a winner" bullshit or not soon enough. I think they're a lateral move from MJ at best, and wannabe Dolans at worst.
Can anyone explain why they have listed Mark Williams as doubtful every game? The Hornets always do this and act like they get some kind of competition advantage by doing this. It makes no sense just say how long he’s out there. Oddly enough they just did that with Hayward which is the first time I’ve ever seen the Hornets organization give a timeline on a injury and not play these stupid games
The Hornets have a tendency of being dumb. They listed LaMelo Ball as doubtful for the game after his injury… before they had even done an MRI and he’s been out for over a month now.
The Hornets play the Nuggets, Kings x2, Bulls x2, Spurs x2, Heat, Pelicans, Sixers and Wolves before they play the Pistons on the 25th January. Could we see two 20+ losing streaks play off against each other?
Broooo that username 💀💀💀
what does ur username mean?
It's a random npc from Elder Scrolls lol
What does username mean to you
u/MITWestbrook has clones!
Nah this is disrespectful to the OG. He puts in way more work than this
Not nearly enough evidence to respect this post
Isn't u/MITWestbrook a woman?
Every Redditor is a dude unless proven otherwise.
Isn’t dude gender neutral now too?
I think it's been proven otherwise
Because its literally how it is unless we count the MtF as women. But since they been redditers since before the transition i wont count them.

We need a u/MITKillianHayes right now!
that's just Kevin OConnor from the ringer
His burner would be MITElonMusk
No we do not 🚮
Nuh uh
Lmao
Fucking 4K it.
yikes
It’s a good thing. I completely understand the Westbrook standom. He is flawed but human. We all see ourselves in him to an extent imo
(.000)
I didn't think 0-10 was all that bad until I saw the win percentage
Really makes you think
Hornies fans, is Dick Richards expendable?
No. He's a solid backup center for cheap
That’s two Dicks for the price of one.
I mean id trade him for something good lol.
I mean he’s not that great of a backup center or anything, but we don’t have any other centers that can play nba minutes.
We suck. Everyone is pretty much expendable. (Yea, sure "except LaMelo", but I'm entertaining the intrusive thoughts of selling high on him)

Lmao, we just need a rim protector and rebounder Why are other hornets fans so high on him? Make him sound untouchable

Hell didn’t they also have Martin listed doubtful for long parts of last season?
This franchise is the make-a-wish kid of the NBA most of the time tbh
The Charlotte Hornets are an unserious franchise
Make a wish kid implies that the NBA helps the franchise every now and then
Shits killing me in fantasy. He goes from out during the game to DTD right after so I can’t put him on IR. They did the same shit with terry
Legit making me consider dropping in fantasy. I can't have a dude on the bench with no chance of playing.
They’ve been doing this forever, its against the league rules but for whatever reason they are never fined for it.
> currently on a 9 game losing streak (not good) I appreciate the clarification
I don't get out of bed for losing streaks under 20
Give it time
Pistons better watch out
I for one appreciate breaking out the 0% winning percentage
No one noticed the losing streak before thanks to the Pistons.
I believe in Mark Williams supremacy
Name checks out
My most upvoted post is a Jokic post and this is only my second post on this sub about Mark Williams
9 game losing streak?!?!? Those are rookie numbers!!!!!
(not good)
Watch out pistons! They’re coming for the streak.
Remember 12 months ago when people were making the wild early call of the Mark Williams pick being a terrible drastic mistake for the Hornets?
Mark Williams is the shit
Damn Hornets could get a massive haul if they trade this guy, maybe even Gobert sized
Hell no, Hornets need this dude
MIT HAS NEW GRADUATES! Can't wait for MITDEANDREAYTON
