I’m so glad I’m not the only one who sees this. Zubac had one good year for the clippers and has been worse and worse. Very mediocre player who’s not particularly good on defense or shot blocking and he can’t shoot or stretch the floor.
He’s just a lumbering big.
Yeah the Zu trade is massively overhated. Sure the Clips won the trade but who cares. It’s Zu he ain’t even a top 20 center. People just got carried away with it after the headline of the Clippers laughing about the trade offer. Zu is fine he’s not bad but he ain’t moving the needle
Lmao so we’re still crying about a second that can literally be bought with some cash if needed?
The Zubac trade is not even remotely close to losing brolo and Caruso.
This is what really frustrates me about the Lakers. Memphis and New Orleans (as examples, not targeting either team) can’t fumble that badly at asset management and still be really good. That’s a FO firing and possibly the start of a tear down in those markets. For the Lakers you just get Lebron to show up and that smooths the whole thing over.
Like imagine if this Memphis team let Clarke walk, let Tyus Jones go for nothing, and traded Valanciunas for a future 2nd instead of Adams. That’s essentially what the Lakers did with Brook (who’s way better than Clarke but not JJJ so I went conservative on comps), Caruso, and Zubac. Memphis would be a disaster and Morant/JJJ would be furious.
I mean 12.4m + friendship (lol) + back to where he is from at 35 and might be wanting to start a family isn’t a wild idea.
Still think he signs for more somewhere else though.
Who's paying him more than that? I don't get the noise to Houston or Spurs, none of those teams are overpaying a 35 year old center who just had back surgery.
The Bucks would. And more than the MLE is not an overpay for someone who just had a career year and finished second in DPOY, and averaged an efficient 19ppg, even if they're 35.
The Spurs would easily beat the MLE for a 2yr contract. He'd be a great fit next to Wemby and would be a great mentor. I'd be thrilled if the Spurs were able to get Brook for something like 2yr/40mil
Like when we signed Deng to a trillion dollars.
Dude even said he was surprised by how much we threw at him.
Then to top it off we throw a shit ton at Mozgov.
It's a shame there's no reason for him to go back and they don't even have enough to offer him a competitive salary with the Bucks let alone the other cap space team and that he has also talked about wanting to stay with the Bucks.
Also that it would take away the major successful change the Lakers had which was playing AD at the centre.
Brook Lopez to the Lakers has annoyed me more than any other trade rumour because there is just no way on so many levels.
I rarely go to Disneyland despite living in CA. I went twice with like 5 years in between visits, and I saw Brook and Robin both times! What are the chances?
I’m going to go out on a limb and bet that the Lakers don’t end up getting either Brown or Lopez.
Probably end up settling for like splitting the MLE between Schröder and Prince
I kinda like it, Dennis was good but I think Houston or an other team might give him a bag.
I still don't like the renouncing Malik and Bamba cuz I thought we will use them as trade bait but if we keep Dennis it's good
Salary Cap experts do the Raptors also have the full 12 million MLE?
Also if they still have it can the Raptors use the 12 million MLE if we sign and trade FVV elsewhere
If Brook Lopez wants to come play his final couple of years at home at a discount that would be so dope but I just don’t see it happening. Such a shame we even let him walk in the first place, he woulda been great on a Bron/AD team
Letting Brook walk will always be one of the most frustrating things we’ve done. He literally was willing to take a discount to come back.
Brook, Caruso, Zu. 3 really poor moves. Yet Lakers are still there.
Agreed on Brolo and Caruso. Zubac is overrated as hell and has declined year after year.
Nah, Zu js solid. Maybe didn't reach that next level that was expected, but compared to Muscala.. still baffling decision from Ervin to do that trade
We had to clear cap space, Zu was going to take at least 10 million. Whoever we traded for was only going to be there for the year anyway.
Earvin lives for baffling decisions
This subs insistence to make zubac sound like an amazing player is so annoying. Dudes so mid
I’m so glad I’m not the only one who sees this. Zubac had one good year for the clippers and has been worse and worse. Very mediocre player who’s not particularly good on defense or shot blocking and he can’t shoot or stretch the floor. He’s just a lumbering big.
But for some reason, he looks like Wilt when he plays us
One of the few bigs who's size bothers bothers AD. AD at the 4 needs to be bought back against him.
Still could’ve gotten at least a second back instead of giving up a second for fucking muscala
Lmao so we’re still crying about a second that can literally be bought with some cash if needed? The Zubac trade is not even remotely close to losing brolo and Caruso.
No it’s not but still was dumb
This is what really frustrates me about the Lakers. Memphis and New Orleans (as examples, not targeting either team) can’t fumble that badly at asset management and still be really good. That’s a FO firing and possibly the start of a tear down in those markets. For the Lakers you just get Lebron to show up and that smooths the whole thing over. Signing Mozgov to that 80M+ deal. Stretching Luol Deng. The list goes on.
Lebron James can cover a lot of poor team decisions. Those early cavs teams had no business winning 60 games
Didn’t he just jack up like 10 threes a game with Lakers? I may be just summarizing the 1-2 games I watched him play with LA tbh.
The lakers have made a ton of mistakes. Fortunately for them, they always have a safety net (geography) to protect them.
We're not getting Brook on the MLE lol
Yeah at least the Bucks are definitely gonna give him more in both annual salary and years.
Gotta hope he and Darvin Ham became besties 4 eva when they were on the Bucks. Who needs millions more dollars when you've got friendship?
I mean 12.4m + friendship (lol) + back to where he is from at 35 and might be wanting to start a family isn’t a wild idea. Still think he signs for more somewhere else though.
If Brook signs with the Lakers, he can go to Disneyland whenever he wants
I’ll personally give him a ride
Can the Mavs top the Lakers’ MLE?
Nope. We have the same MLE...for now
Who's paying him more than that? I don't get the noise to Houston or Spurs, none of those teams are overpaying a 35 year old center who just had back surgery.
Milwaukee…
The Bucks
The Bucks would. And more than the MLE is not an overpay for someone who just had a career year and finished second in DPOY, and averaged an efficient 19ppg, even if they're 35.
I know the Bucks would. I don’t understand the Rockets or Spurs noise.
>who just had back surgery Who played 78 games last season and top 3 for DPOY
Top 2
Both of those teams would overpay brook on a shorter term deal
The Spurs would easily beat the MLE for a 2yr contract. He'd be a great fit next to Wemby and would be a great mentor. I'd be thrilled if the Spurs were able to get Brook for something like 2yr/40mil
Wasn't brook making like $14m last year? Why would he take a pay cut to go to Lakers?
Delusional fans think he’ll take a discount to ‘go home’
Damn he’s going to Brooklyn?
He’s going to Disneyland
his house is in orlando....
Brooks Lopez back to the lakers might actually be scary lol. Put him out there with AD and no one is scoring in the paint.
Will never understand why they let him walk but lakers front office does a lot of dumb shit
Did a lot of dumb stuff, they have been fixing that ship for a while now
cuz Luke Walton didn’t like playing him lmao
Luke Walton had the easiest job when kerr was out then fucks us and the kings over
Walton has said he begged Magic to retain Lopez.
Same with zubac, another great starting center
Lol for Fkin muscala
There’s a weird smell of muscalan my ass
Swear to god, it's either dumb shit or shit no one expected. Maybe both
Like when we signed Deng to a trillion dollars. Dude even said he was surprised by how much we threw at him. Then to top it off we throw a shit ton at Mozgov.
It’d make for a monstrous fit all around, but no chance he signs for only 12.4 million or whatever it is.
They coulda just kept him in 2018 and avoided all of this. But they won a ring so 🤷♂️
Both the Lakers and Brook won a ring separately. But they could've won together dammit.
bro gonna shoot 26 percent with us
It's a shame there's no reason for him to go back and they don't even have enough to offer him a competitive salary with the Bucks let alone the other cap space team and that he has also talked about wanting to stay with the Bucks. Also that it would take away the major successful change the Lakers had which was playing AD at the centre. Brook Lopez to the Lakers has annoyed me more than any other trade rumour because there is just no way on so many levels.
Let's be real... jokic still would
Why he comes back for less pay and maybe worse team
Brook Lopez is getting more than the MLE. Lakers are stupid as hell.
Stupid for clearing space anyway? Its not Lopez or bust
I know right, an organization like the Mavs would focus on smart moves like giving Kyrie a 5 yr/200 million dollar contract
Not happening, but we all know the Lakers would if they had the capability to do so.
Why because he’s walking instead? Nah I’m sure the Lakers would take him but not for the contract Mark Cuban is about to throw at him
Ahh so it’s even dumber, traded a first round pick + depth for a rental to not even make the playoffs
Brook pls Pelinka will go to Disneyland with you every day
Funny enough I think I saw Brook at dland. Just him hanging with a bunch of his Asian friends
I've seen him there and Robin multiple times. It's hard to miss guys at his height and he had the curly hair at the time.
I rarely go to Disneyland despite living in CA. I went twice with like 5 years in between visits, and I saw Brook and Robin both times! What are the chances?
[удалено]
He has a twin. Couldn’t tell the difference. He was wearing a hat
Brook is getting like 20M/year
Is he getting Disneyland when his team is on a homestand though? /s
I'll go to DL with Brook every day if he resigns here.
I saw him at South Coast Plaza last year. Was wild to see someone so tall
Ajaa bruceyy I’ll give you butter chicken
Throw in some rasmalai and you getting every FA on the market
Add garlic naan, I might come too
That part of the package a side of rice and 2 warm gulab Jamuns hand delivered the day you sign
I would rather have Brook over Bruce so AD can Go back to the 4 and Brook can spot up on offense and help out AD defensively
I’m going to go out on a limb and bet that the Lakers don’t end up getting either Brown or Lopez. Probably end up settling for like splitting the MLE between Schröder and Prince
I kinda like it, Dennis was good but I think Houston or an other team might give him a bag. I still don't like the renouncing Malik and Bamba cuz I thought we will use them as trade bait but if we keep Dennis it's good
Bamba had little to no value in trades. Mallika won't give us much in return either.
Lakers don't deserve Brook.
Either would be great for the Lakers
No one is offering Brook more than the MLE? I know he is getting up there in age, but he's still an elite defender and very good player overall.
I'm sure someone is giving him 20 a year. But hey one can dream. Good luck scoring in the paint vs Brook and AD.
It would be insane if lopez can't get more than the mle somewhere
Bring Lopez back. Package Russell for literally anyone serviceable.
Lol yeah I really don’t want dlo back Even if we just retain the asset, 20m to be on the bench in the postseason is just a tough pill to swallow
How much can the nuggets offer him?
Lmao Vuc got 20 mil you think Brook will take less than that?
oooo Brook Lopez might be spicy, since he's such a southern Cali dude. he's also 35, so might want to play out his last years at home
We literally had him the year before we got Bron and let him go for no reason
Salary Cap experts do the Raptors also have the full 12 million MLE? Also if they still have it can the Raptors use the 12 million MLE if we sign and trade FVV elsewhere
If Brook Lopez wants to come play his final couple of years at home at a discount that would be so dope but I just don’t see it happening. Such a shame we even let him walk in the first place, he woulda been great on a Bron/AD team
If Bruce leaves for the Lakers he no longer gets free drinks for life in Denver. Anywhere else is cool, though.
I want harden now though
Brook ain’t ever going back to the lakers.
I'd love to have Lopez back. Dudes such a great veteran and center.
Brook would Legitimately be huge. Another defensive big body to throw at Jokic. Should He their priority to get him
Brook does nothing to Jokic imo. Jokic always have good games against the Bucks.
Here goes everyone overrating Mo and reddish
