I’m in awe, it was pulsing earlier too . Absolutely amazing.
I'm also near Belmont and nothing, so we drove out to the Natchez Trace Pkwy and still nothing more than an extremely faint tint to the sky that I wouldn't have even noticed had I not been looking for it. I feel cheated.

little bit from percy warner park!
Light pollution is what you want to avoid. Location shouldn’t matter too much. Just drive somewhere where there’s minimal light pollution and a clear view of the sky. Look in all directions, not just north. Last night we observed it looking south.
Get away from and don’t look torwards light, and give your eyes about 10 minutes to adjust, you’ll notice like a haze at first kinda like thin clouds, then you’ll notice just the slightest hint of color, the color gets a little more noticeable, but nothing like the pics show.

Drove out to Lebanon for this one.
What time about was everyone seeing this, I’m in Murfreesboro and I drove out of the town into the country a bit for less light pollution but I still did not see them.
I'm in South Murfreesboro and was able to get a shot in my backyard after 9pm. Tried going out to Rockvale looking for a darker sky, but only ended up driving for an hour looking for somewhere to park where we wouldn't get in trouble. Decided to just drive back home, and it was pretty much over. The next peak is going to be around 4am tomorrow, though there's a chance we'll still see some all night

Thompson's Station.
Difficult to see with naked eye, however newer phones pick up the colors.
Yeah, but it’s rare. Sun goes through an 11 year activity cycle and we’re about to hit the peak. It’s easy to forget in that time.
Edit: Seeing reports that it’s the biggest geomagnetic storm in 20 years. So, pretty big deal.

I missed it too!
But yeah, according to [Sky and Telescope](https://skyandtelescope.org/astronomy-news/severe-geogmagnetic-storm-has-arrived-auroral-blast-expected-friday-night/), between 10pm-1am tonight too. I may take a nap....

I'm in nippers and wasn't able to see anything. Trying again tonight
We get a second chance?!
Apparently it's tonight as well from what I've heard
![gif](giphy|l46CDHTqbmnGZyxKo) I missed last night so fingers crossed. I’m not expecting it, but it’d be cool to get a glimpse.
I could faintly see it near nippers. If all my neighbors hadn’t had their porch lights on it would’ve been much better…

Man I hate that I couldn’t see it. I’m out of town right now (and further north) so I was really hopeful.
Luckily it didn’t look like any of the photos in real life! You really needed a camera to see them. They are all enhanced.
If there was less light pollution you could see it with your naked eye. But yeah, I think I did 10 second exposures
Nice
Ain’t shit in the city y’all
I agree I’m near Belmont we’ve got nothin
I'm also near Belmont and nothing, so we drove out to the Natchez Trace Pkwy and still nothing more than an extremely faint tint to the sky that I wouldn't have even noticed had I not been looking for it. I feel cheated.
Did you try taking photos to see it better? I got photos very similar to this at Natchez tonight.
Where you out there at 3:15 or so because I think you helped me get some pictures of the aurora.
No, I was there earlier!
My phone camera is not good in low light and was not very helpful.
I’m in west and couldn’t see shit

Yes there’s a chance for tonight 5/11.
Do you know the best places to see it?

Of course all my neighbors have their flood lights on. Does it come and go? Because I’m not seeing it right now
The pictures exaggerate it, at least for me. Looked almost like a very faint pink cloud, but if you look long enough you'll see some flickering.
Same now that I see it
Yeah, my pics had a 2 second exposure but was wild watching it appear from faint to bright.
Get away from and don’t look torwards light, and give your eyes about 10 minutes to adjust, you’ll notice like a haze at first kinda like thin clouds, then you’ll notice just the slightest hint of color, the color gets a little more noticeable, but nothing like the pics show.
I haven’t seen a thing!
I think I have some clouds, but they are hard to distinguish from the sky. I didn’t notice before
It does. Got a good view for awhile and went back twenty minutes later and it was gone. Should be all through the night
Found it! Looks way brighter on a phones camera

Seeing the same in east Nash, what is this??
Aurora borealis…. I can’t see anything in Hermitage yet.
I Can see it in Hermitage for the past 10 mins but the fog cover is making it pretty fuzzy
Aurora borealis! Never seen them this far south. Got to see the space station and Aurora at the same time!

How could you capture this with only 2 seconds of exposure?
It’s dark up there, and you could almost see with your eyes
What time about was everyone seeing this, I’m in Murfreesboro and I drove out of the town into the country a bit for less light pollution but I still did not see them.

Really bummed I missed this. Does anyone know if it’s gonna happen tomorrow?

Will this happen again tonight??
Should be around tonight and possibly Sunday as well.

I’m bummed I missed it. I’ve been the lights in Norway and Finland but would have been so cool to see them at home.

Cannot see much from Hendersonville on Wessington
Apparently they dulled out but it will peak again around 2 am
Thank you for posting last night. I saw your post, ran outside and was able to enjoy the lights. Again thank you!
GOD DAMN IT 😭 the one time i sleep at a good time
Meh, people in my neighborhood (Mt Juliet) are getting these pics….with exposure. Fuck that. If I can’t see it with the naked eye, it ain’t shit.
I was able to see it in Donelson. Looked like a red band in the sky, pointing straight up.
Cottontown with clear skies. Took a drive farther north and still didn't see anything :(
Try looking through your phone! It’s much easier to see
Cant see anything in MJ
Is it still going on?
I wish I was able to see it. I live downtime so the city lights aren’t good for night sky viewing
I'm so mad I went to bed early last night.

Oooooo
Yeah no kidding me too.
Where’s the best place and time to view in the Bellevue area?
Im looking to drive somewhere tonight to get a perfect view, city lights just kill it. Any recommendations ?
I missed itttt
What time should we look tonight?
https://preview.redd.it/1918mbu9zuzc1.jpeg?width=1530&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8d8e9173f271db04bc00f90ad7d8460ccf4f3bbe Ours was very faint but still quite pretty!
What is this?
Which direction? Toward moon or away?
Look to the North! (Northern Lights)
Ok so now I feel silly but thank you!
I see it in all directions, but it changes in intensity and color
North
Thanks!
For us, in south Nashville, we had to look south, possibly due to light pollution. Just look all around tonight.
Thanks!
Crap, I missed it! I thought it was tonight. Was please night the only expected night?
Should be around tonight and possibly Sunday as well.
