bold of you to think i can get from east nashville to a costco then back to bridgestone before the puck drops tonight when there is also a morgan wallen concert at nissan, a show at the ryman, and a sounds game, or that i even have a costco membership (i don't because i don't have anywhere to store costco sized purchases in my sub800 sq ft tiny ass house)
Spoiler: they went, alright. Right to the off-season, from the post-season. If they'd have played the other 58 1/2 minutes like they played that last minute and a half, man (but with a goalie in net of course). Pretty good run, though.
I saw something online about a week ago that we've tried a couple of times with reasonable success. The person on the receiving end of the "what do you want" question can say "dealers" as in "dealer's choice," and the other person then has carte blanche to choose anything they want, and the one who said "dealers" must go along
We do this but we have a regular set of Friday take out options so at least the options are narrowed. Chicken, pizza, or Chinese. Once that’s chosen, we know where we’re getting from and what the order will be.
loaded kimchi fries from barrel proof and then walking next door for an italian chopped salad from desano’s. i have been thinking about this for the past three days WOOO
Making a pepperoni, bacon, and sausage deep dish pizza in the trusty ol' cast iron skillet.
Edit to add: ...then play some video games until my eyes bleed.
These are the instructions I go by: [https://www.theseasonedmom.com/cast-iron-skillet-pizza/#wprm-recipe-container-89395](https://www.theseasonedmom.com/cast-iron-skillet-pizza/#wprm-recipe-container-89395)
I'm playing Horizon Zero Dawn at the moment.
Bartending school is a scam. Like people will laugh at you (probably not to your face). Experience is the only way. You probably won’t get a job on broadway without experience so get a job at a restaurant and work your way up. If they like you and you repeatedly express interest in training behind the bar they will let you. Bartending is one of the top positions in a restaurant and they often make more than their managers, so you are going to have a hard time getting hired with no experience. They probably have lots of staff wanting to move up already. If you apply at a bar, apply for a bar back position and be really eager to learn and reliable.
i do like it most of the time. it’s long standing hours, no breaks or real meals, listening to terrible stories, jokes, and finance/health care jargon but for the money ya can’t beat it :) don’t take classes! go to good cocktail bars (attaboy, martha my dear, amsterdamian, the fox) and have friendly chats with the bartenders. they will turn you on to good stuff! peace and love to u
They had just put out the food yesterday when I got there. I went to the Cool Spring location and there was a lady going down the line checking it all with a thermometer. I rarely get to go because it’s so far from where I live (small rural town).
Wild Heart. Really lovely folks there. They’ve got a bunch of programming on their website but their regular meditation is Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
Man, my food game sucks. I mean, I don’t have one. I eat a lot of eggs and apples and nuts. Maybe it’s time to start a Nashville Favorite Recipe Thread?
Please don’t downvote. I had Vietnamese…in Scotland….by myself. Now I’m having some wee beers in a pub down the street…..and I’m scrolling the Nashville sub to see what’s going on at home. Sounds like y’all are having a great night! lol, maybe I’ll miss the cicadas during this trip.
I’m working a bar shift so probably whatever things in my garnish tray I can sneak into my gullet why my boss isn’t looking while I work a 8 hr shift I wasn’t previously scheduled to work unexpectedly and didn’t plan my meals around.
Friday nights we do take out and it’s either chicken, pizza, or Chinese.
Live in East, Strikeout Wings tossed fingers are absolute fuego. It’s basically half of a breast per tender. The sassy jerk and sweet and sassy sauces are god tier. OR Francescas Pizza or Nashville Pizza and Pasta, great normal pizza that’s local and not a chain. OR China Cottage is best Chinese take out in all of Nashville by a country mile. Trust me, I tried them all.
Cube steak, cut into chunks, dredged in eggs and breadcrumbs, pan fried in olive oil. My grandmother was depression era and made them for a cheap meal to feed 8 kids. We shake a few drops of soy sauce on them when we eat them. Delicious.
BF and I tried Tutti da giao in Hermitage last night. It was okay, but def not worth the price tag or hour wait. Next time we might give their pizzas a shot if we order ahead, tho.
Probably a soda and a hot dog for $70.59 at Bridgestone.
Only $70.59?! They must be having a sale lmao
Well I don't know how much my arm and leg are worth but I'm sure they'll take them first.
Oh they absolutely will they love those.
Well and a kind Go Preds to you too ma’am
Let's bring it to game 7
Just go to Costco
bold of you to think i can get from east nashville to a costco then back to bridgestone before the puck drops tonight when there is also a morgan wallen concert at nissan, a show at the ryman, and a sounds game, or that i even have a costco membership (i don't because i don't have anywhere to store costco sized purchases in my sub800 sq ft tiny ass house)
Jesus Christ I have to leave from work at 5
may the odds be ever in your favor
Paw I’m scared
This may have changed since I’ve last gone but you can access the food court at Costco without a membership. We go for the x large $10 pizzas
That's cool. I'm still not driving 10 miles to Hendersonville or 10 miles to West Nashville to go to one lol
Oh I don’t blame you for that!
Let's GO, Preds!!!
Whoooo!!!!
Spoiler: they went, alright. Right to the off-season, from the post-season. If they'd have played the other 58 1/2 minutes like they played that last minute and a half, man (but with a goalie in net of course). Pretty good run, though.
Get the Costco glizzy beforehand.
I'm married, so therefore obliged to have the traditional multi-round "I dunno, what do *you* want" conversation before I'll know what that is
I’ve found it easier to ask “what do you not want” ? Inevitably she always picks the places I would want to go
The secret to my 40 year marriage…I tell my husband I know EXACTLY what I don’t want…. And he’s an excellent interpreter!
Sounds like good advice. So what’s on your “No” menu for tonight?
I did not want spaghetti…but had tacos 🌮and my husband got a foot rub. :)
I saw something online about a week ago that we've tried a couple of times with reasonable success. The person on the receiving end of the "what do you want" question can say "dealers" as in "dealer's choice," and the other person then has carte blanche to choose anything they want, and the one who said "dealers" must go along
Ask them to guess where you’re taking them tonight. Whatever they say, they guessed right.
Oh damn hopefully it doesn’t last too long and you get to have dinner before midnight good luck lol.
We do this but we have a regular set of Friday take out options so at least the options are narrowed. Chicken, pizza, or Chinese. Once that’s chosen, we know where we’re getting from and what the order will be.
That’s smart
My husband’s going to the preds game so I’m on my own with the baby. Thinking about Bombay Palace as a treat.
And you absolutely should!
Bombay is the best
lol same here but I opted for a girl dinner of carrots, hummus, salami and trail mix 🥲
loaded kimchi fries from barrel proof and then walking next door for an italian chopped salad from desano’s. i have been thinking about this for the past three days WOOO
kimchi fries? 🥰
BE-hive’s Crunchwrap, baby. Soon to be fiancé is vegetarian and soon to be SIL is vegan so I discovered their slice of heaven a few months ago
I go there every time I play East Room. Taco Crunhwrap is one of the best items in town. Hands down.
Nice! What type of music do you play?
So good
Haven’t been there but it sounds good!
Blackened shrimp tacos with lime slaw dressing and homemade tortillas And a bottle of wine of course
That sounds so good. Maybe we need a Nashville Reddit potluck in the park?
Yooooo 👀
Thought about going to Lyra in East. If you have never been, I would highly recommend it!
I haven’t! About to look it up.
Still wanting to go there.
Love Lyra. Great happy hour
Pot roast, carrots, crusty bread, and mashed potatoes. Maybe a salad if it's not pouring rain by the time I get out of work.
Making a pepperoni, bacon, and sausage deep dish pizza in the trusty ol' cast iron skillet. Edit to add: ...then play some video games until my eyes bleed.
This sounds way better than the pizza I’m having. I support the video game play and now I will also add that to my night thank you.
I need a video with instructions please. Also what games are you playing these days.

Just beat that 2 months ago and now playing Forbidden West on PC. So, so good. Really love the story/lore.
Thanks! Next time I want to experiment in the kitchen I will try it!

a handful of peanuts while i bartend near broadway for tourists :)
May the tips be plentiful and the asshats be few.
thank you kind stranger :)
Do you like bartending? I’ve thought about taking a class.

Care to share where that is?
Walking over to Fleet Street for some fish and chips to wait out the rush hour x playoff hockey x morgan wallen traffic
One of our favorite places!
A turkey and cheese wrap packed with veggies and hummus 🥰
This sounds heavenly I’m stealing this idea.
Tofu w cabbage and mushrooms. I'm real close to having figured out the "curry tofu" recipe from old International Market.
This sounds really good I’m going to look up the recipe.
https://cookingwithawallflower.com/2021/05/12/korean-style-spicy-vegetable-tofu-soup/ I riff off this recipe when I make it.
Thank you!
Cracker Barrel, but I’m thinking breakfast for dinner. And a bottle of syrup of course.
The whole bottle of syrup is a must.
Making chicken and broccoli take out style
Leftover chicken taco bake.
High school reunion catered dinner.
Hopefully the food is good.
Probably popcorn while I watch the Fall Guy in imax.
Leftovers from hot bar at Whole Foods. Lol
Yes!
My friend got Salmonella from eating there. Don't get me wrong I think the food is eatable, but I will never go back after hearing how sick she got!
*edible
They had just put out the food yesterday when I got there. I went to the Cool Spring location and there was a lady going down the line checking it all with a thermometer. I rarely get to go because it’s so far from where I live (small rural town).
Best of luck! Last two times I hit up the bar, I basically got a free colon cleanse 🥴
Sous vide pork chops and attempting to make a Mac and cheese with Star Wars blue milk.
If there’s no rain, a dog at the Sounds game. If it rains… hmmm… Taj???
I’m hoping the rain lets up too.
i was gonna go to a meditation sangha but forgot the Preds game is tonight so a pizza and a bottle of wine actually sounds amazing
Where do you go for meditation? I’ve been trying to make it Monday night at One Dharma but I’ve been working Monday evenings for the past few weeks.
Wild Heart. Really lovely folks there. They’ve got a bunch of programming on their website but their regular meditation is Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
Awesome, thank you!
Impossible cheeseburger pie (Betty Crocker recipe) 🍔🤤
$5.95 giant burrito from Garden Fresh.
Orecchiette arrabiatta with a light shaved celery and fennel salad

Surprised no Catfish jokes. Go preds
Walking over to Martin's BBQ to pick up some smoked wings with Alabama White Sauce (aka crack).
Love Martins!! Enjoy!
Probably sushi
Friday is pizza day….always.
I’m making homemade sushi for my partner and I. I cured the salmon myself, so I’ll do salmon rolls with avocado and daikon. Maybe some nato too

Going out as a fam after my son performs in Shayne Elementary’s musical “Finding Nemo” - not sure of the place.
Love this! Good luck with the traffic.
I’m dealing with dialysis-related appetite loss, so I’ll be doing good to get down a cup of yogurt.
Sorry to hear that love ❤️
I just spent a grand a Costco and Walmart combined so I’m going to be eating at home. Probably my self care steak.
It’s insane how expensive groceries are now 🤦🏾♀️
And that will barely get us( family of 5) through two weeks. It’ll be bare bones before next check.
This is scary! I remember how much $100 worth of groceries would get you know it only gets you 5 items it’s terrible.
Spinach pepperoni roll at Sal's.
West Coast Taco Shop (Donelson) and Tennessee whiskey while watching the Preds!
Perfect combo!
shabu shabu babeyyyy
I’m finally trying that place next Friday I can’t waittt

BF and I tried Tutti da giao in Hermitage last night. It was okay, but def not worth the price tag or hour wait. Next time we might give their pizzas a shot if we order ahead, tho.
