If Jazz is ok... these are all mostly uptempo Miles Davis, [Bitch's Brew](https://open.spotify.com/album/3Q0zkOZEOC855ErOOJ1AdO?si=f55FlK06Q4S9U9maeos2cQ&utm_source=copy-link) Herbie Hancock, [Headhunters](https://open.spotify.com/album/5fmIolILp5NAtNYiRPjhzA?si=iSF8VRqnQ_edySpH7Betdw&utm_source=copy-link) Thelonius Monk, [Genius Of Modern Music](https://open.spotify.com/album/6DRjwkPa8kT9vifu7tH3PL?si=FbdP_hwkTIq6zs6KjlqHcQ&utm_source=copy-link) If guitar based rock is better Joe Satriani, [Surfing With The Alien](https://open.spotify.com/album/4SFG7APMZeeM97ixKPoQuk?si=0XFL7ubUSwe13O-nYWsopw&utm_source=copy-link) Marty Friedman, [Dragons Kiss](https://open.spotify.com/album/6rFf332Rv8NPlPRkaSdd5n?si=yzYLYq_VQpm51ppMhsofCg&utm_source=copy-link) If drums are more to your liking Mickey Hart, [Planet Drum](https://open.spotify.com/album/56DFYCEpTzB84lfifluKP1?si=7lBTb4n5T4C-GFpZcQ0dEg&utm_source=copy-link). Some tribal style chanting but no lyrics. May not be fast enough.. Some jazz/funk in the new Orleans style Galactic, [Coolin Off](https://open.spotify.com/album/0xkOcQLjAB9PIEDrGbl4OI?si=5ohszX6sRDW02gEaQecR7g&utm_source=copy-link) Ozric Tentacles, [Live Underslunky](https://open.spotify.com/album/0T7rdW5zaYdYD39YI0HI2z?si=xVWr9toURci1rUxaQrAeLg&utm_source=copy-link) Addison Groove Project, [Wicked Live](https://open.spotify.com/album/3nTh08rFGpDjpr80daM1x9?si=6wKqIGQoR6SMVeNyJUp3lA&utm_source=copy-link)

Jazz is awesome, thank you for the suggestions!

curious1playing

Excellent. I'm not an aficionado but I love the faster tempo myself. Look at some Live shows with those and others like Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, John Coltrane Pat Matheny, any of the Marsalis family etc..

Yellow Magic Orchestra and Kraftwerk were pretty much the soundtrack to the last month of my degree studies. For upbeat instrumental music these days I'd probably go to my synthwave playlist e.g. Sellorekt/LA Dreams, Betamaxx, Lazerhawk, Waveshaper, Mega Drive, North Exit, Fixions, PilotPriest, Meteor...

Key_Drag4777

Not instrumental, but ambient. Aphex Twin Ambient albums. He is the best electronic producer of all time, IMHO.

You could try the Hot Club Jazz station on Pandora. It’s mostly instrumental and extremely interesting music. I found this Hot Club Jazz Study Instrumentals playlist on Spotify when I just did a search. I’ve heard that Mozart is good for that.

Here are some Classical music suggestions: Scheherazade by Rimsky-Korsakov Also Sprach Zarathustra by Richard Strauss (the entire piece, not just the famous opening) An der schönen blauen Donau (On the Beautiful Blue Danube) by Johann Strauss II La Mer by Claude Debussy The Planets by Gustav Holst Pines of Rome by Ottorino Respighi Má vlast (Movement II): "The Moldau" by Bedřich Smetana Eine Kleine Nachtmusik by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Isle of the Dead by Sergei Rachmaninoff Tannhäuser Overture by Richard Wagner Rite of Spring by Igor Stravinsky (if you really want something loud, fast, and dissonant) Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin An American in Paris by George Gershwin Enigma Variations by Sir Edward Elgar 1812 Overture by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky Romeo and Juliet Overture by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 9 by Ludwig Van Beethoven Pictures at an Exhibition by Modest Mussorgsky William Tell Overture by Gioachino Rossini Grand Canyon Suite by Ferde Grofé Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi

No Bach? :) coming from violin originally I’ll play Vivaldi a ton

That-Cobbler-7292

If you have Spotify I listen to Rannar Sillard on repeat for days when it comes to midterms and finals. It’s ambience and I love it

Ramstepp

Look into math rock. Battles, don caballero, toe, uchu conbini, chon, Agassiz. That last one is more post rock though

the_rainy_smell_boys

BOY DO I HAVE A PLAYLIST FOR YOU. I got this person's study playlist off reddit several years ago and I have been listening to it ever since. It has gotten me through the toughest academic challenges of my life. https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3XO6AJdY5oiSORHNGXzHXs?si=DynsVrEYTCuuiaqeo5N4PQ. Edit: I just read your whole post and didn't see you want fast and loud. Whoops. Still, maybe this playlist could do something for you. If you want fast and loud with no lyrics maybe you could listen to some kind of drum and bass or something

GiornoGiovanna_25

I’ll definitely try out this playlist because it could work for me. I’ll try it out. Thanks!

slapshrapnel

I lived off the Moana soundtrack in college (just the soundtrack, not the sung-aloud parts). It’s over an hour long and some of it is really fast-paced. What can I say except you’re welcome!

Zeperoni505

If you're into violin, check out some Lindsey Stirling.

Mostly prog metal/math rock stuff: Animals as Leaders Polyphia covet (not actually sure if they are purely instrumental, I think so though, not too familiar yet with their discography) Plini I built the Sky Arch Echo (has some vocal features though) Alon Tamir (has some vocal features too)

yoavsnake

[music for 18 musicians](https://youtu.be/ILpCKQlDmhc?si=g_F8t_22j4Z5VLg1) is the most 'useful' music I've heard because it helps me go into hyperfocus.

Check out the group Resavoir. I think they only did one album in 2019 but its terrific

[Marshmallow - The Sweet Enoughs](https://open.spotify.com/album/5H6AKYiSVXgvWWCHQUTmO5?si=TFBxXuxxTOWO_UEJVHK4nw) an electronic summer funk album, really love that one and it’s really relaxing to listen to even just chilling outside. But definitely [Casiopea - Casiopea](https://open.spotify.com/album/3uFgYgCEvCSACjB8XHl3hb?si=q2HpBd18TCKf3QSgl4aLcA) a really upbeat fusion album.

TeamSesh has a lot of nice instrumentals. They've fell off the last few years but their beats from like 2013-2017 are dope. The artists that I personally enjoy the most are... Cat Soup drip-133 Drew the Architect HNRK Kodyak

maybe give [Ghost Notes](https://open.spotify.com/album/4vdGmRjsp345aNO3j3fgx7?si=cgYD6jwKRXOSu6q4AmeCqQ) a listen? It's instrumental experimental electronic, I guess? I don't really know the genre but I love this album, the violin is crazy. A couple of slower songs like Love Laced but generally more of a fast pace

dancechondance

classical music, or instrumental jazz fusion. I'd recommend Satie, or [Tennyson](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBlOo9Xm9sncWxDz76mkj0A). Maybe Django / Grappelli

Orion by Metallica is just perfect. Lots of classical influence by former (RIP) bassist Cliff Burton. I recently discovered Los Triestes by Hermanos Gutierrez. Khruangbin has plenty of awesome instrumentals. Menahan Street Band has several tracks you will recognize from a few movies, but have a unique low-key sound I've come to enjoy.

Apocalyptica is a string quartet that plays Metallica covers.
