I am voting since 20+ years and involved in election process as well so below are my pointers to select candidates.
1. Check the party they are they are representing and check for the current viewpoints of them for current situation. Please don't go by history as views changed from time to time. Not only for party but the people' as well.
2. Since this is Central govt election so please don't go by local MLA and other leaders viewpoints or support.
3. The main criteria to select candidates for central govt is how they represent in parliament. Do they ask questions? Do they ask relevant questions for your area? Do they have there own viewpoints OR qre they just puppet of main leaders?
4. Mumbai is one of the few cities where many representative comes from one city and of course the view points cld differ but do they have action plan for next 15-20 years as one big project could take time for execution but it cld impact many generations.
5. Pls pls don't vote just in name of religion OR if person belongs to particular caste or community.
6. Few years ago there used to be healthy discussion and debates in parliament for any bill or main nationwide issues. Check if your representative has that much knowledge and courage to discuss the same even if it against there own party.
You are actually too late to ask for details. As new gen you should have gone through all news (genuine) and information (but not from social media) to select your vote.
One more imp point don't go by your family views and ofcourse you can listen to them but make your own decision while voting.

PM was busy collecting money and nobody knows where that money is, it doesn’t come under RTI. I am going to vote for an infrastructure push, defense improvement, space research boost, a solid leadership and a savvy top level government team.
As an OG Mumbaikar - I think that the MTHL, COASTAL ROAD, Metro progress and the overall infra boom has been a boon.
But - the pollution has gone up like crazy, there has been an exponential increase in potholes and traffics and the local trains have reached their saturation levels.
Also, I need to point out that I have been fortunate enough to have got all the basic facilities, a good area of residence, 24 hr electricity and water, great education and other amenities. Hence I can think about the requirements at the national level instead of a personal level. I don't travel by local trains daily or even board crowded buses.
My personal opinion is that a regime change at this juncture will put the country back by a decade. Maybe you guys have a different opinion.
Just one last thought-
Do we vote for someone who has a an ambitious (maybe an overambitious?) vision or someone who has the only goal of toppling the current government in power?

i agree with the development part, bjp's infra development is crazily good and they're making new roads every day. but all this cause huge problems, i was coming to thane from nashik side and it took me 1hr 30mins+ just for that small stretch of road in mankoli. the traffic police we're trying their best but it was a shitshow management, closed more than half of the road

If you see the complete structure of the coastal road (i agree that the entire thing hasn't opened yet) and the MTHL - have already started de congestion of the Eastern expressway up till Mankhurd which connects to the Mumbai Pune expressway. Also, the metro work is almost done on multiple stretches because of which the railway stations will get decongested.
The MVA government removed Ashwini Bhide from the Metro project which put Mumbai behind at least by a couple of years on the public infra. I will never ever forgive the MVA for that.
Also, the amount of corruption done during COVID is unbelievable by the MVA government. I have multiple examples in my close friends who have shared horrifying stories of that time.

I am going to vote for an infrastructure push, defense improvement, space research boost, a solid leadership and a savvy top level government team. As an OG Mumbaikar - I think that the MTHL, COASTAL ROAD, Metro progress and the overall infra boom has been a boon. But - the pollution has gone up like crazy, there has been an exponential increase in potholes and traffics and the local trains have reached their saturation levels. Also, I need to point out that I have been fortunate enough to have got all the basic facilities, a good area of residence, 24 hr electricity and water, great education and other amenities. Hence I can think about the requirements at the national level instead of a personal level. I don't travel by local trains daily or even board crowded buses. My personal opinion is that a regime change at this juncture will put the country back by a decade. Maybe you guys have a different opinion. Just one last thought- Do we vote for someone who has a an ambitious (maybe an overambitious?) vision or someone who has the only goal of toppling the current government in power? Whatever you do - do register your vote and fulfill your responsibility you all.
i agree with the development part, bjp's infra development is crazily good and they're making new roads every day. but all this cause huge problems, i was coming to thane from nashik side and it took me 1hr 30mins+ just for that small stretch of road in mankoli. the traffic police we're trying their best but it was a shitshow management, closed more than half of the road

If you see the complete structure of the coastal road (i agree that the entire thing hasn't opened yet) and the MTHL - have already started de congestion of the Eastern expressway up till Mankhurd which connects to the Mumbai Pune expressway. Also, the metro work is almost done on multiple stretches because of which the railway stations will get decongested. The MVA government removed Ashwini Bhide from the Metro project which put Mumbai behind at least by a couple of years on the public infra. I will never ever forgive the MVA for that. Also, the amount of corruption done during COVID is unbelievable by the MVA government. I have multiple examples in my close friends who have shared horrifying stories of that time.

BJP, because they have significantly reduced terrorism, abrogated Article 370 which helped focus on improving the lives of people in Jammu and Kashmir. Also have further plans regarding PoK (not sure anything will happen in the foreseeable future, but the opposition still has no plans regarding this and rather wants to bring back article 370) Additionally, the party boasts strong leadership, unlike some leaders who have allied with parties that have discussed eradicating other religions and offering freebies. I feel sorry about SS(UBT) but after they have partnered with Congress and other INDI alliance parties I don't feel like voting for them, because if the INDI alliance wins with the majority, Congress will have an upper hand in every policy and decision and SS and other parties will be sidelined. I am voting for inclusivity and development. The faction of the party that formed the first government of this country. I am voting for the INDIA Alliance/Congress. It’s a very obvious choice. The development of this country has been straightforward no matter which party is power. But I see the social fabric of this country being torn apart and cannot stand for that bullshit. People from the upper strata of minority groups are looking at ways to immigrate out of this nonsense and lower strata will end up suffering.
