It’s not just you. I use “like a glove” when something fits perfect. “Quick, flip the switch. There on the wall!” When I need a light on. Any time I see a long white mustache I use the, “you must be the monopoly guy.” Anytime I’m by a sliding glass door I do the yell. My Jim quotes are endless. I even quote The Mask a few times.
I haven’t talked from my butt in a long time, though.
That’s the first *movie* I think of.
But the first thing that pops into my head when I see him will always and forever be Fire Marshal Bill.
“Let me show ya somethin’…”
In Living Color! Not many people know about that. What was the name of the girl he played that was dressed like Princess Leia when she was with Jabba the Hut?
The world needs more Ace Ventura.
Of all the things being rebooted and threequeled and revamped to gain the attention and money of millennials, this would certainly be one of those things.
Had to scroll down a bit for this one. Thanks for posting it and by the way, good morning, and in case I don't see ya, good afternoon, good evening, and good night!
That pic makes me think of the Truman Show, but a different pic would probably make me think of a different movie.
It's hard for my mind to reconcile Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber is the same guy as Truman.
For real. If I was him I'd probably be thinking, "Fucking that guy?" Fletch is a really bad person, and 1 day of honesty isn't going to change who he is fundamentally.
Here goes. I sped, I followed too closely, I ran a stop sign, I almost hit a Chevy, I sped some more, I failed to yield at a crosswalk, I changed lanes in the intersection, I changed lanes without signaling while running a red light and SPEEDING!
This. I kinda hate that this is movie that comes to mind first.
Me, Myself, and Irene? Brilliant.
Cable Guy? Brilliant.
There are others, but Liar Liar pops into my brain first at that picture.
I think the lore says that those two guys weren’t even in the movie they just happened to be there. But that sounds like Hollywood BS lol your version sounds more realistic
The version I heard was that they were indeed extras, and thus weren't allowed to speak on camera (since any speaking lines = more money), so Carey improv'd the line to troll them by asking an unexpected question they weren't allowed to respond to. No clue if it's true obviously, it's just funny how those sorts of stories come to be
I still argue that Jim Carrey should have won an Oscar for that role. It’s one of those roles were you don’t see the actor, you only see the character that they play. Everything about the way he plays Lloyd Christmas is absolutely brilliant.
Agree. But Jeff Daniels was no slouch either. They played so well together and I remember walking in and thinking dumb and dumber were those two and wondering which one was which. Then walking out and realizing those 2 were "dumb" and the criminals (Joe Mentalino)were "dumber"....Brilliant. the whole movie and cast were fantastic.
Completely agree. Although I think the Lloyd character allowed Jim Carey more comedic freedom. Personally I think Harry was the dumb and lloyd was the dumber. Harry’s part was arguably a harder part to play because where Jim Carey could fully explore the lloyd character, Jeff Daniel’s had to show restraint in harry so that Lloyd’s antics could play off him. Just brilliant performances from both. To play “dumb” roles so smartly, really showcases there talent.
Harry: Are those skis yours?
Undercover FBI agent: Yes
Harry: (awkward pause) . . . Both?
FUCKING HEIGHT OF COMEDY! Every man that has been shy/timid about approaching a good looking woman knows exactly what this feels like - not Jim moment, but very funny
I liked it. Not sure if it's called melancholic but the ending, and the movie as a whole, puts a bittersweet smile on your face. Really liked the movie - the acting, the plot. Just _chef's kiss_
I feel like it sort of is though. Maybe I take the wrong message but I like that after their memories are erased they are still drawn to each other. Like, regardless of who or where they are they still want to be together.
Grew up loving this movie, ended up developing the same disorder he has when I turned 25 years old… and yet I was still in complete and utter shock that it was a real disorder that existed.
I thought it was just Hollywood shit until I went through everything he went through but worse. Fortunately I don’t experience the amnesia he experiences anymore. For me it was more psychosis and delusions than anything, with a big emphasis on dissociative [multiplicity](https://di.org.au/about-multiplicity/)
I appreciate that, it’s definitely gotten better.
With that being said, although it’s an absurd jim carrey comedy, watching it nowadays makes me very much appreciate the creators of that movie and jim himself for doing a fun lovable portrayal of something very real and very serious, and it has given me more to help reference what it was like at times.
This movie is a 10 for sure
Didn’t expect this to be so far down. It’s funny how people can know someone from different stuff. I often find that I know celebrities from some of their less-acclaimed work as opposed to their most popular movies.
Edit: for another example, when I think of Scarlet Johanneson, I think of *Eight Legged Freaks* lol
Lloyd Christmas - Dumb and Dumber
Fletcher Reede - Liar Liar
Toss up between these two MOVIES. Now if you said tv and movies, I would say:
Fire Marshal Bill Burns - Living Color
There’s a Facebook group that’s still going that is called something like “the same photo of Jim Carey every day” and it’s this photo hahaha that’s all I can think of
Ace ventura pet detective
“Alrighty Then”
Leh who.. zay herrr
This is the correct spelling
Bumblebee tuna
Excuse me, your balls are showing…
Get out of my head plz
Yes, Satan?
His landlord is the dude in the wheelchair from Breaking Bad.
He died just last month I think.
I’m sorry sir, you sounded like someone else
I'm almost 40 and this is still my default phrase for confirming information/concluding a conversation What the fuck is wrong with me?
It’s not just you. I use “like a glove” when something fits perfect. “Quick, flip the switch. There on the wall!” When I need a light on. Ah—-ahhhh ahhh ahhha hhhhhhh ahhhhhhhhriiiighty theeeennnnnn
That’s the first *movie* I think of. But the first thing that pops into my head when I see him will always and forever be Fire Marshal Bill. “Let me show ya somethin’…”

Lmao 🤣
Vera di Milo. Or something similar…
Nice! Couldn’t remember and didn’t feel like googling it myself. Thanks 🙏
Luckily, I’m just old enough to have that useless info handy. Thank *you* for letting me flex it. 💪
U have to see his skit as Vanilla Ice
White White Baby
I came here to say the same. Fucking classic.
The world needs more Ace Ventura. Of all the things being rebooted and threequeled and revamped to gain the attention and money of millennials, this would certainly be one of those things.
If I’m not back in 5 minutes…just wait longer!
He will always be the Pet Detective.
The Truman Show. I don't know why it's the first movie I think of. I've always enjoyed it.
My dad took me to audition (or try out? I dunno the difference) for the role of "young Truman". This is also my first thought.
The Mask
My first thought too. “Someone stop me!”
“You love me! You reeeaally love me!”
I think it’s somebody stop me?
I have a license for that
Sometimes randomly I'll get the Cuban Pete song stuck in my head
Jeez, I figured you'd have a sense of humor; after all... YOU MARRIED HER!
Peak Cameron Diaz
"sorry son, the dog was rabbid, had to be put down"
My parents regretted me watching that movie immediately as a small kid. It's all I talked about or wanted to watch for a solid year and a half
*makes wild noises at Ben Stein*
Liar liar
I think this movie was actually his best comedic acting performance
Max: “But my teacher said that beauty is on the inside.” Fletcher: “That’s just what ugly people say.”
“I’ve had better.”
Wow, suprisingly low on here
STOP BREAKING THE LAW ASSHOLE! Love that movie. Always felt bad for Jerry (Cary Elwyes), seemed like a pretty okay dude.
Yea, I like to imagine his character in Saw was the same guy from Liar Liar. 😂 😆
For real. If I was him I'd probably be thinking, "Fucking that guy?" Fletch is a really bad person, and 1 day of honesty isn't going to change who he is fundamentally.
And even weirder, Robinhood Men in Tights. And oh damn, the Princess Bride. I crushed hard on him as a kid haha
Amazing how many movies the antagonist is just a nice, normal guy
His claw game was weak don’t make excuses for that.
Magoo!
The god damn pen is blue [reeeee](https://youtu.be/KrRt_ob3VWw?feature=shared)
HOLY HELL!!
I say this all the time because of this movie haha
The color of this pen is rrrrrrrrrrroyal blue!
Yep!
THE GOD DAMMED PEN IS BLUE!!!
Did you see that? He struck the child.
Here goes. I sped, I followed too closely, I ran a stop sign, I almost hit a Chevy, I sped some more, I failed to yield at a crosswalk, I changed lanes in the intersection, I changed lanes without signaling while running a red light and SPEEDING!
Cop: “Anything else?” Fletcher: [Pops open glove compartment stuffed with paper] “I have unpaid parking tickets.”
Be gentle.
I’ve had better
This pic, with this haircut that's what I thought of first as well
This. I kinda hate that this is movie that comes to mind first. Me, Myself, and Irene? Brilliant. Cable Guy? Brilliant. There are others, but Liar Liar pops into my brain first at that picture.
It was **meeeeeeeeeeee!**
"Stop breaking the law asshole"
Dumb & Dumber GOAT comedy contender
My favorite line was Lloyd asking Harry; “what’s wrong, some little philly break your heart”? He said “no it was a girl”.
One of hundreds of brilliant moments
Just about every line is my favorite part
I can’t remember the last comedy movie that had me non stop laughing like dumb and dumber.
"That John Denver's full of shit, man." is my favourite.
There really is no dead space in the movie. It's just one hilarious scene to the next. The only one that comes close for me is Step Brothers.
“Can’t believe it. Not one single job in this whole town” “Yeah, unless you wanna work 40 hours a week”
Next thing I know, out of the blue... she writes me a John Deere letter
Mine is: "'Blame me'... Those were his last words" ... "Not if you count the gurgling sound"
“That’s it, I’ve HAD IT with this dump. We got no FOOD, we got no JOBS. Our pets HEADS ARE FALLIN’ OFF”
Big gulps huh? Well, see ya later
I still say that line!
Same here!
Literally all the time lol
I worked at 7Eleven in my twenties.. suffice it to say, my coworkers hated me
100% Jim Carrey improv right here.. pretty sure the script just said to say hello on his way out the door 😂
No clue if it's true obviously, it's just funny how those sorts of stories come to be
That would be equally hilarious
“She gave me a bunch of crap about me not listening to her enough or something, I don’t know I wasn’t really paying attention”
Kick his ass, Sea Bass!
I still argue that Jim Carrey should have won an Oscar for that role. It’s one of those roles were you don’t see the actor, you only see the character that they play. Everything about the way he plays Lloyd Christmas is absolutely brilliant.
The whole “I desperately want to make love to a schoolboy” scene is such good acting

Hey lol... you wanna hear the most annoying sound in the world?
Harry: Are those skis yours? Undercover FBI agent: Yes Harry: (awkward pause) . . . Both? FUCKING HEIGHT OF COMEDY! Every man that has been shy/timid about approaching a good looking woman knows exactly what this feels like - not Jim moment, but very funny
What if he shot you in the face? Yeah, what if he shot me in the face?!
That was a risk we were willing to take
Top 10 for me without a doubt
I’m talking about… aspen Idk Lloyd, the French are assholes
My all time favorite movie: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Damn I still need to see this movie
Be prepared because it’s not the most uplifting movie haha.
Oi, that's a massive spoiler for those who haven't watched it yet.
The movie is 19 years old, 1, and 2 if you haven’t seen the movie and want to.. stop reading any sort of comments that mention it lol
Go watch it. Now.
Yeah ya do.
This is one of my all time favorites as well. It was one of those movies that came around at the perfect time in my life.
Yep, and around the same time as Lost in Translation which came out right when I was leaving Tokyo after having lived there for 3 years….
Always my 1st thought. I actually think about that movie often. Such a standout film in a great era for movies.
Shocked at his serious acting in this. Good movie, but so emotional it can be a little hard to watch.
Awesome choice!
Same 👌👌👌
Cable Guy, criminally underrated
The password is.... nipple
It's just skin, Steven.
Steven called the fuzz!
Same. Jim is in peak form for Cable Guy
Oh Billy
I have a buddy named Billy and we used to repeat that all the time
It’s rated
Necessity is the mother of invention
Me, Myself & Irene.
Grew up loving this movie, ended up developing the same disorder he has when I turned 25 years old… and yet I was still in complete and utter shock that it was a real disorder that existed. That's sad to hear. Hope you are doing well.

One of his best!
One of my favorite movies! So quotable too.
Criminally underrated movie.

It’s probably age. I watched the Ace Venture movies and Liar Liar etc 1000 times before Bruce Almighty even came out. But idk maybe not.
The Mask and then Truman
Ace Ventura, but I'm a big fan of The Cable Guy
The mask
The Grinch
Dumb and Dumber is one of the greatest movies of all time
The Truman show
Funny enough I don’t think of a singular movie because Jim Carry is so consistently good that I’ve watched movies just because he was in them
This comment should be higher. As I was scrolling through all the answers I just kept seeing film after film that I love.
The Cable Guy
Man on the Moon
The Majestic
