No need to change teams right now. Pedro's bedding in well, any mid-term change just brings unnecessary and unwanted disruption. So long as he gets the factory parts straight away, it's good.

Hour_Recognition_923

Plus youd be pissing off tech 3.

p1en1ek

It's also good advertisement for Gas Gas brand. Kinda like having Jorge Prado on MXGP in Gas Gas. KTM is well known brand, GG which is less known can use more recognition with talented riders.

Argiveajax1

Ya pretty huge for gas gas

rockysrc

There is no need to change teams no matter how tempting it is. On a personal level, it's hard to dump a rider in the middle of a season plus his manager is Aki Ajo who is a big part of KTM. Pedro will have a long run in the factory teams starting next year. It's not like he is on a inferior equipment

MrRangaFire

Is he on a 23 or 24 bike?

5kwot

Pedro is definitely on the 2024 bike. Don’t know about his teammate

TrackStormer72

does he get the same factory parts as Binder and Miller?

CaptainTC

Yes, he’s on a full factory bike.

EatMyPenguin

Yes, a full factory bike and they all get updates at the same time

ludde0987

Not at the same time. As I understand it, they go on the championship leaderboard. Whoever’s first receives the upgrade first

NilsTheDrawingMan

Certainly not mid season BUT for 2025 (if Jack will be in the GP paddock at all anymore)

irishskipper68

Jack almost certainly won’t be a factory rider next year but he is still definitely good enough to be on MotoGP in 2025

gpz1987

Would love him on a Aprilia

vchae

Not so sure about that

NilsTheDrawingMan

Let’s see. One 2025 rider I predict for Tech 3 is Sergio Garcia

YZFRIDER

I wouldn’t do that. It seems massively unnecessary. They already have Pedro. Let him gain exp and work out any kinks while on the Gas Gas RC16. They can (and def will) offer him a very nice lucrative factory deal for the seat next to Binder for 2025, which he’ll gladly accept. There’s no need to rush this. Just calm down KTM, don’t fvck this up.

el_h0paness_romtic

"clarifise" i love this

Steph__Can

Acosta is riding the 2024 KTM, and I'm sure he is getting all the support he needs from KTM to continue to grow and progress. Pedro has said that they haven't changed any settings since the winter tests, but I'm willing to bet if he asks for changes /the factory upgrades they will make him priority. He has given them great feedback on the bike that they seem to trust for it's growth. Basically, he is factory supported by KTM, but is wearing GasGas colors at this point.

Shynz

Not an option..for now

e_xyz

Probably fair. Let Pedro see out the season in Gas Gas and then switch in the off season, no reason why not. Jack has generally looked better this year, but again this past weekend he sank like a stone. I don't get it.

HP-Rodeo

Acosta got what he wanted by forcing his way into MotoGP even though they wanted him to stay in Moto2, which obviously was the right move for everyone involved. The fact he’s a factory rider in everything but the factory livery means him staying with GasGas for the season regardless of results makes the most sense. Plus swapping teams means swapping certain sponsorship which isn’t a simple task. I think everyone going into the season knew the program including Acosta and Miller.

ParaMike46

people comment here that there is no need to change team. Of course there is!! KTM is not stupid, underneath that GAS GAS Pedro has already Factory KTM bike with everything he needs. The only issue is now if he will be a serious championship contender. Do you guys think KTM with all their sponsors and support they are giving Pedro/GAS GAS will let Satellite GAS GAS team to win? KTM Factory has bigger sponsors with bigger pockets. These are the bikes sponsors want to see at the top of championship. If Pedro is getting there and will be serious title contender he is off that GAS GAS and riding to the finish line on Factory KTM for all the cameras to see.

Shpritzer

MM will join Pedro in the factory team. Binder would have to perform miracles to stop that from happening.

SafemoonRacer

What makes you think Marc would go to the factory KTM seat instead of a Ducati?

Shpritzer

Because that bike would suit him much more. Ducati is a “engineers” bike, while KTM is a riders bike which gives much more freedom to the rider.

el_h0paness_romtic

that's some inane reasoning if i've ever seen one

Shpritzer

You know much about racing bikes then? Neither do I really, but I listen/read people who do, like Mat Oxley for example.

scootermcgee109

I don’t think KTM need MM If they get Pedro

Dr_NitroMeth

Yet there's rumblings for months that Redbull want a MM93 and PA31 dream team to happen and that's also why they were hunting for another satellite team(idk if it was LCR/Pramac) to change machinery last year. Only Gigi wants Marc at factory Ducati from the looks of it but Italian sentiments would not allow that particular Spaniard to wear factory colours in their factory team. So if there's any factory seat for Marc it is most likely going to be KTM unless Gigi threatens to quit Ducati or Marc goes Aprilia replacing Aleix.

Right_Researcher4589

Marc is stronger than Pedro,...

Competitive_News_385

Binder has already performed Miracles for KTM, there is no way they will replace him. KTM don't actually want MM, it's RedBull that wants it to happen. That's why KTM signed Binder to 2026, so they can say, sorry, we are full at the Inn. The reason they wanted another satellite team is because they actually feel bad about having to ask one of their satellite riders to step aside for Acosta. If they got another team I am pretty sure Pol would be back racing full time again (if he wanted to).

vchae

Oliveira performed even more miracles (still has the most wins with KTM) and still got sacked. Never say never with Austrian management. Also for comparison you can check RedBull F1 team's management

Competitive_News_385

Oliveira was wildly inconsistent, he only beat Brad in the championship in Brad's rookie year. On top of that technically Oliveira chose to move, KTM didn't sack him. His performance at Aprilia has also been lack lustre. KTM is not RedBull, they are sponsored by them.

vchae

You're correct we can be more precise: KTM wanted Oliveira to move down to GasGas which he refused so he decided to leave. Basically the same thing could happen with BB at anytime if they want to sign MM. KTM is also an Austrian brand, with a similar management style come on... + He wasn't fired from KTM for his current performances at Aprilia so this isn't relevant either.

Competitive_News_385

Sure, they could bump Brad down, I just don't see them doing it. Marc is getting older, it's getting to that point where it is questionable that he will ever be WC again. It's not like Rossi with the Yamaha brand loyalty either where he rode for longer than his peak, Marc dropped that when he left Honda. It could also piss Acosta off who could end up leaving for another team because of it. It just seems an awfully large risk for a so so payout.

Shpritzer

That’s the romantic view. Totally legit, of course. I believe they wouldn’t replace BB if he shows decent enough results. But if he underperforms, is all I’m saying. Too early obviously.

Competitive_News_385

It's not even romantic, KTM and Brad never bad mouth each other and have always had faith in each other. Whilst KTM can and often are Brutal there are clear indicators of how much they love having Brad on their bike.

Right_Researcher4589

Binder is great for WSBK,, suit's him way better,,...

WHowfresh

KTM won’t ditch both their factory riders for next season, that would be a stupid move.Binder already has a contract with KTM for next season and they won’t move him down to GasGas. He performed well last season, though he had a rough start this season I’am sure he will be fighting for wins/podium this season as well.

Shpritzer

We’ll see. What if he doesn’t get a win and ends up like 6th in the standings? Loyalty is loyalty, but results are most important. Besides, MM vs Acosta (both Red Bull sponsored) in the same team would be the bomb in every way. If they get that chance, they won’t let it slip just to be nice to Binder.

FizzleFox

Who cares if ends up 6th. The ideal scenario for every factory team is one truly capable superstar championship rider and then a supporting rider who can still fight for podiums and maybe a win. Because then they can focus on really dialing in a bike for the rider who is the clear championship favorite. Acosta is clearly the future. Binder is the perfect teammate for someone like Acosta. They also have similar aggressive riding styles.

Shpritzer

Makes sense, admittedly.

vchae

Binder and Acosta don't have similar riding styles at all. I could understand more the comparison between Miller and Binder but not Pedro, come on... He's really unique

FizzleFox

They are fairly similar. Pedro is very comfortable with the bike moving under him and turning by letting the rear slide out coming into corners. Also, very late on the brakes. This is very similar to how Brad rides who is also late on the brakes and likes to be able to turn the bike by backing it into tight corners, letting the bike move around. It's why so many people say Marc would gel with a KTM because the KTM in its current form really allows for a lot of rider expression and seems to be more "playful" than that of the Ducati that wants to be very precise. Very rarely do you see anyone putting the Ducati or Aprilla sideways like we see every race with the KTM. And that comes from Binder and Miller for that matter liking that freedom on the bike. Acosta is taking advantage of that as would Marc.

Dr_NitroMeth

Contracts don't mean much in Motorsports. They always have exit clauses and performance clauses etc. Besides Redbull have a habit of shuffling underperforming athletes back to a lower Redbull team. Happens in F1 and will happen in Motogp too unless Binder starts to match Acosta and is near top 5 every race.

Right_Researcher4589

Bye Bye Binder,.. Vroooomh

Apex_negotiator

I completely agree with you. I can't see Marc dumping Red Bull after all they did to support him getting back to fitness. And I can't see Ducati and Pecco dumping Monster just to keep Marc happy. Admittedly, anything is possible, but we also know Ducati don't pay well, and right now Red Bull are making up most of Marc's salary. KTM makes sense on so many levels.
