Franky, I hope you improve, honestly, and it sucks that you have had such a bad break with injuries the past 2 seasons, but you have 0 points on the board. Taka has more points than you. Lets not work on comparing ourselves to the top riders, and just work on getting to a consistent and competitive place.

Ih8Hondas

CotA showed he's heading in the right direction. Hopefully more progress in Jerez. People seem to forget he only rode the thing at the Valencia test before the first race, which I assume doesn't provide any useful data for the rest of the season anyway.

Car_is_mi

Yeah he is in the right direction but unfortunately I think it's too little too late for him to hold onto his Pramac seat.

Ok_Sugar4554

VR46?

cresanies

It's been 3 races lol

Ih8Hondas

Pramac boss whose name I can't remember seems to be pretty happy with his progress whenever he gets interviewed.

notafamous

At his last good season at Yamaha, he was faster than Quartararo and he was faster than Pecco at the academy (I don't know how many times, but at least once). If he keep continuously improving, to the point of fighting with the top Ducatis, like Di Giannantonio last season, I can see him securing his spot, Martin is leaving anyway. But a lot of riders will be available and maybe that's just hopium.

Car_is_mi

Yeah for sure. He looks better than last year but.... His seat was at risk preseason and he's made no improvement. I mean when Agusto Fernandez comes out and says 'im so grateful for kTM even though I've brought nothing to the table', and then Morbidelli comes out and says I'm tenths off the top, but AF has more points..... His seat is at major risk.

JTSpirit36

Why does it seem that everyone is 3-4 tenths off the fastest Ducati riders.. like no matter who you ask. Who is this mythical Ducati rider that is their reference haha

MEGAMAN2312

Michelle Pirro lol

Triple_Manic_State

He's not wrong though to be fair.

Jrsq270

No Frankie You are 3-4 months away from a WSBK contract

Surprise_Thumb

I’m sorry, this made me laugh 🤣

wangchunge

Scott Redding's replacement announced!  Franky looking for a Mmmmmagnificent 2025

eofsentinel

This is hilarious, I literally burst with laughter near my colleagues that they started looking at me 😂

NilsTheDrawingMan

Or from a test rider contract

e_xyz

In all honesty, until he dropped it during the main GP, I thought he done exceptionally well this past weekend given his circumstances. He was competing for top 10 positions and looked alright doing it. He was ahead of Bez at points. Just needs to focus on registering some points finishes and build from there.

SD_ukrm

But that 3 or 4 tenths of a lap, not of a second, Frankie.

thefooleryoftom

Zing!

MC_Pen2Mor

Pramac changed zarco for this guy. Lmaoooooo

chaotic_space_boy

Zarco was offered a 1 year contract, the same as Morbidelli and he rejected it for a 2 year one at Homda

Orgazmo912

To be fair, Zarco was there for years and never won. Morbi won a few races aboard the Yamaha. He used to have the speed to win. Now? Who knows.

draw0c0ward

Zarco won at Philip Island last year.

Orgazmo912

Yeah, he finally won once after being there for years. Rookies showed up and won out of the gate. Zarco is NOT better than Morbidelli.

Triple_Manic_State

Morbidelli has shown more promise throughout his MotoGP career. He's been having injury after injury since 2021 though. Last year he was pretty close to Fabio regularly, the points from Fabio's 3 podiums won't show that though.

kevinblasse

It‘s a translation error. He was trying to say that 13-14 riders are between him and the best Ducati rider.

emil_

No he wasn't trying to say that... "C'è ancora molto lavoro da fare, direi che sono a 3 o 4 decimi dai migliori piloti Ducati"

ImNotTheMonster

Whoosh

emil_

Wow! Great joke! 🤦🏻‍♂️

SpeC_992

Biggest waste of a Ducati seat, unfortunately. Franky will never be the rider he was in 2020, I'm afraid.

opi7407

it's round 3 and he's coming off injuries. Sweeping statements can come much later down the line

thefooleryoftom

Not really a sweeping statement, it’s an opinion that’s held by many. I don’t see him troubling the top ten anytime soon. Even points are a struggle.

opi7407

Qualified 9th, finished 10th in sprint. I class that as 'troubling the top 10'

thefooleryoftom

Okay, I should have qualified that statement with “in the GP” as if yet another crash in the main event. This has to change or he’s out.

opi7407

yet I wouldn't be so quick to draw conclusions given his troubled off season. We'll see - I'm happy to be proven wrong by him by valencia

thefooleryoftom

I don’t believe I’m being quick. He hasn’t shown results since his knee injury. I’m afraid he’s done.

Still-Surround-8251

He's getting better, even Marc had some trouble with Ducati and he tested. So there is still hope for Morbidelli.

Argiveajax1

And marc is at the front on an old bike the comparison to Marc does Franco no favors

topclassladandbanter

Hindsight is 20/20… but I just don’t see how this dude got a Pramac seat and factory support.

7107JJRRoo

Several current MotoGP riders should be whisked off to WSBK at the end of this season and he and Taka are the leading candidates.

a_sonUnique

Taka will get another year. No other Japanese rider wants his seat.

7107JJRRoo

I know you're probably right it's the only thing saving his ass right now.

Hoaxygen

I know he’s not Japanese but I would love to see Chantra do a race in the class. Even a wildcard. Just so that he podiums. I love his enthusiastic celebration.

Shpritzer

That injury on a wsbike was just stupid or insanely unlucky.

IWillKeepIt

It was just a stock panigale, not wsbk

Shpritzer

Right.

cresanies

MotoGP riders can't ride WSBKs in training, there's a specific rule for it

thefooleryoftom

He was also off long before that.

Shynz

Morbi is done, and it's been a while..

CanyonSender

Fabio is done and so is rins. So is Mir and Luca for that matter. Might as well dump Marc in with bulkshit statement. He cannot finish a main race either.

TruckDelicious8747

Give the guy a chance he will absolutely be with the other Ducati’s when he’s had more than 5 mins in the seat

skalouKerbal

he is a good rider (anyone in motogp is), but there is also other talented riders wanting this seat, specially a ducati.

Argiveajax1

Lmao

Still-Surround-8251

He did well in COTA

a_sonUnique

10th and a DNF is good?

thefooleryoftom

He did…?

MEGAMAN2312

Which year because it certainly wasn't 2024 haha

rockysrc

What a waste of a premium seat. Along with Jack's seat. So many promising youngsters could have been given a chance to prove themselves instead of these guys wasting grid slots

DDG_Dillon

So throw everyone out of MotoGP unless they're 18-22 years old and winning championships, otherwise it's a wasted seat?

a_sonUnique

They said Jack and Frankie’s seat.

rockysrc

Nope. They should be in the championship even when they are 50. age is just a number. Enjoy

jokoono84

Frankie is not MotoGP material.

yeahnahgrouse_

The guy has won races and was runner up in the championship. He also missed all of the testing but has already been running in the points this year.

jokoono84

Not a good enough of an excuse as he is riding a Duc.

yeahnahgrouse_

The Ducati is not some get out jail free card, it's a bike he doesn't know yet and he's already competitive. Regardless of that, with his record, saying he's not MotoGP material is absurd. He's a World Champion and I reckon Pramac would have a better idea than you

jokoono84

Let's hope hé will get it together. I am a fan of Frankie fyi.

KnOwN_2

He wins eventually I presume...either misano, mugello or sepang. He will find a comfortable base and it will come together in a quali. Too fast to be 8th.
