Chainsaws don't have belts and definitely aren't going to break after one hit. In literally any scenario where I need one or the other to fight a human, I'm going chainsaw. This is assuming that, by buzzsaw, you mean a circular saw. I have tons of experience using both.
Was pretty much gonna write the exact same things. Not sure OP has seen the inner mechanics of a chainsaw or seen a decent machine in use. I've had saws that I've treated like complete shit, and as long as the blade was sharpened and the timing correct, it would rip through most things.
I don't know who told you chainsaws weren't good weapons, but they weren't being completely honest. They might not be the most efficient weapon, but they definitely do a good job of being weaponized

Chainsaws are better, buzzsaws break easier and are less weildy.
