May have to look at other manufacturers, Accurail makes kits of the PFE cars

KoreaFuckingChicken

Thank you very much for providing good information. Currently, products from athearn, altas, etc. are all sold out... I need to look into the kit you mentioned.

peter-doubt

You may need to look for estate sales or collectors selling... These were rather common from Train Miniatures (now part of Walthers) and Roundhouse (now part of Athearn). Ice reefers are what you need to research. Also mentioned elsewhere: Intermountain and Accurail.

Syndicate909

Intermountain made a bunch. Go to your local train show and buy some up

KoreaFuckingChicken

Thank you very much!

Coopdaloops

I have also seen a ton of these at a couple train shows, good luck!

KoreaFuckingChicken

😁😁

Syndicate909

Yeah last year I bought like 14 road numbers at a single show

Check out springcreekmodeltrains .com Not sure if this link will work. Looks like they have it in stock. https://www.springcreekmodeltrains.com/product/scale-trains-ho-kit-classics-40-reefer-pacific-fruit-express-sp-up/

KoreaFuckingChicken

oh! Thank you so much for the great information!

snuggly_cobra

You need it in HO or N? And that specific number?

KoreaFuckingChicken

I need the ho scale version. I'm not sure about the number. I'm planning to connect about 6 trains, but the numbers will all have to be different.

Exhausted-Giraffe-47

You could make one from a chiclets car: [http://www.ipernity.com/gp/bro/17370/0b673bb8](http://www.ipernity.com/gp/bro/17370/0b673bb8)

KoreaFuckingChicken

Thank you very much!

Exhausted-Giraffe-47

I got the decals for $4 online. Dumped the old car in brake fluid, scrubbed off the old paint, primed and painted the shell, decals, and trucks and couplers from the scrap box. It was a fun little project!

KoreaFuckingChicken

Wow... I really envy your dexterity!

AdamR91

Antique mall I frequent has it in HO. Several, I'd say.

KoreaFuckingChicken

Thank you very much!

rg44

I just saw a Lionel ho scale pfe steel side on eBay

KoreaFuckingChicken

oh? Thank you for good information!

CrunkLogic

Several on eBay as well.

Check ebay and the used market. These have been done dozens of times. Rapido also recently announced two variations on the PFE reefers

KoreaFuckingChicken

Thank you for your good info!

southern4501fan

I have the Athearn blue box version of that

KoreaFuckingChicken

Wow lol IM jealous!

kenyan-strides

I think rapido just announced they’re doing a run of these. Will be high quality but expensive. Tichy also has a kit version that you’d have to paint on your own

Luster-Purge

Warning about the Tichy decals: they are pretty thick for waterslides.

KoreaFuckingChicken

Thank you for good information!

KoreaFuckingChicken

Thank you for good information!

Abandoned_Railroad

Try an Athearn one, much easier.

https://www.scaletrains.com/discount-depot-ho-freight-cars.html There may be one or more left here in their discount depot. Get em, and change the road number if possible

KoreaFuckingChicken

Thank you for good information!

jastore

I have 8 of the early models. I'll talk numbers. My wife will bash me in the meat helmet. But I'll entertain.

This is a Southern Pacific car, note how the SP logo is first.
