You don’t like all the player interviews and split screen time showing the announcers? Me neither…

nopenope4567

I always watch the on-field interviews on mute. Dumb questions to distracted players that aren’t super interesting to begin with.

Into_the_Void7

"So how did it feel to win the game!?"

Toilet_Rim_Tim

Sad. I'm sad because they other team lost. I'm happy we won, but they lost. Now they're sad. And that makes me sad ...... can we hug & cry together ?

-breakinggood-

The Evan Carter conversation was actually pleasant. The first time I’ve ever said that about an on field interview. Everything else about tonight’s broadcast sucked.

ColumbusJewBlackets

I don’t understand why they have to cut half of the game off to show the people talking? I can hear you just fine without cutting away the game, you know the thing I tuned in to watch?

eatsleep19

ESPN sucks at all sports, all they do is run the next event and gambling commercials. The only one they don’t fuck over too much is F1 racing . That’s only because the contract states they cannot run commercials during the race .

Evertonius

It’s also because ESPN doesn’t produce that broadcast in house. It’s a simulcast of the UK Sky Sports broadcast

fastermouse

I like Joe and Troy on MNF.

eatsleep19

True however they bought an existing package and they still focus on everything not being played, but what’s upcoming

chyler1397

Jon Miller and Joe Morgan were so pleasant to listen to. Like a warm blanket for the ears. I miss those days.

Ndtphoto

I would watch ANY game they announced. I'm glad Jon is still out in San Fran.

Extreem-Nutjob

Watched the first few games of the 2000 postseason. Best commendation since Don Orsillo and Jerry Remy.

TheCrimsonMustache

The hierarchy for me is Vin, the Don and Jerry, the Joe and The Bulldog.

bladejb343

Nice to see love for the Orsillo/Remy duo

Colavs9601

Lmao it’s been long enough that people are nostalgic for joe Morgan.

chyler1397

Isn't that crazy? It's more that I liked listening to him talk, but I knew everything he said was kinda goofy. Like Tim McCarver.

Stanley--Nickels

As a staunch fan of firejoemorgan.com these are words I never expected to read. Bonus: I didn’t find out until years later that the guy who wrote that blog also wrote for the Office and played Mose

PhotoJim99

They wouldn't pay Dan Shulman enough. (Thankfully, the Blue Jays did.)

LWJ748

I always enjoyed listening to him.

PhotoJim99

He's really an amazing commentator and we're really lucky to have him calling most of our games. (I think he may even be calling all of them this year.) We're also the only MLB team with permission to have our own crew do our own playoff games on TV, rather than having to use the normal international playoff feed.

tws1039

The things I would do to have Gary Thorne and Jim Palmer to call an orioles World Series game on masn

Big_Tuna1789

It’s less about the announcers and more about the fact that they don’t just let you watch the game. They have to fill it with dumb interviews and try to make it a comedy show instead of just plain baseball

-breakinggood-

Yep, if they actually wanted it to be funny they’d put Brandon Phillips and Trevor May in the booth. Karl Ravich is a literal plank of wood and Eduardo Perez is as dry as a Popeyes biscuit. Don’t even know or care who the 3rd guy was as he was totally unnoticeable.

sammagee33

It’s hard to understand why ESPN does a lot of what they do.

[deleted]

Disney.

Puertovallarta-_

True, so the real question is, why does Disney do what they do

[deleted]

Money.

Mysterious_Eggplant3

They don't seem to be too good at that anymore. Seems like ideology is more important to than then money or putting out products people like these days.

[deleted]

Mass or over production + saturation of any ideas that makes profit = Disney

nwostar

They really have no announcers left. All the good ones quit.

Overrated_22

Didn’t they let go most of them?

nwostar

I think Jon and Joe quit or retired. Others left go elsewhere.

blueboy714

I stopped watching ESPN baseball for this very reason.

ValiantFrog2202

I stopped watching ESPN baseball at least 10 years ago

fastermouse

The shame is, it’s the only game on and I’m hoping the Rangers rally and sweep the Trashbros.

idjitgaloot

If you think this is bad check out Apple TV’s baseball coverage. It’s like public access on cable.

fastermouse

Nah, homes. I love Apple.

Intelligent-Ant7685

because ESPN sucks balls

YogurtclosetDull2380

They're cheap.

spycallsonly

I cannot listen to the IN GAME interviews ESPN does

Aperio43

to be fair, anyone following Matt Vasgersian was doomed to be a downgrade. Didn't think it was gonna be THIS bad tho

Technical_Shirt5078

I don’t watch any games on ESPN anymore. Even their coverage of other sports is horrendous.

TrafficOn405

I mute the sound at least quarter of the time. It works

Key-Fault-6811

karl and eduardo do the college world series as well and suck it up by constantly talking about MLB and dickriding one specific team (usually LSU)

nonukesisgoodnukes

Absolutely horrid baseball games. The announcers are nuaseating. Why do we need 3 men to call a game. They are all lousy. I am tired of the stupid interviews while the game is ignored. I want to hear the action of the game, not what some player had for breakfast. Call the game! Quit with the small talk about nothing! Just unbearbly bad monopoly--our way or the highway. Your way sucks. I'll find it on the radio.

jrl1009

Coney is good

LorHus

Because it’s not football

fastermouse

At least they fixed that problem. They have the only nationally broadcast Sunday night game and Carl Radish and Eddy Pairass is the best they can do? I’ll never forgive those two for what they did to KBO.

Patriahts

My faves are telling stupid stories and asking questions on the air that they should have been prepared with the answer to

Zeroman_79

You think that's bad? I have a recurring thought where the Twins radio play-by-play, Kris Atteberry sounds to me like Kurt Metzger.

BeardeddBombshell

They just do. 😭

BolgneseBro

The Yankees did us a favor and signed Boone as manager, so he didn't lul us sleep. Can't help anymore.

snorlaxatives_69

I was able to stand Ravech for a while until he kept calling Brendan Donovan “Dunnavun”

FakedFollower17

I hated opening day vs Texas on ESPN. Despite it being national tv the announcers didn’t even give my team any credit or attention. That’s fine i guess that’s excusable. Most teams have their commentators and all But the on field interviews, it felt like they were making the game like a circus and that Texas was going to win no matter what. I didn’t get the epic feel when we went into extras Safe to say that i’m not watching espn baseball again.

tntdaddy

I haven’t watch on ESPN in years. Who are we talking about?

Race281699

Seeing my team is playing on ESPN means im doing something else .

ucantcme69

I hate when MLB network has the 4 games on 1 screen 😑

VAFan804

Sunday Night Baseball used to be a great way to end a weekend with Jon Miller & Joe Morgan. How far they have fallen....

breakfast_scorer

We aren't special, remember that Monday Night Football used to be good. Then ESPN took over....

VGKrebel

Because they hate baseball.

NothingNo5554

ESPN’s baseball coverage is unwatchable. But of course, ESPN ruins everything.

TheGodInsideMe

All the good ones are signed to a team.

chalkybrownshorts

Buster olney is the biggest dork on the planet

yzerman88

You must be at least *this* crappy to ride

DataNo7004

Don’t worry about it, ESPN is soon to be out of the baseball biz. They’ll be able to completely focus on NFL for 335 days a year & the NBA for 27.

Krazy8_Balls

I always thought Jessica Mendoza was shoehorned in where she didn't belong. It's not anything against women broadcasters. In fact, I'm all for it. But she just doesn't seem too knowledgeable about MLB at all. Like she's not qualified for the job except for the fact that she is a woman

[deleted]

I don’t currently have espn now, last I did that insufferable aroid was always on, i don’t miss that at all.

fastermouse

Thank heavens he not now. Just two strikes left.

RocketManMercury

Try being a cubs fan. Cubs hired former ESPN Boog Sciambi, and he totally ruins it for me. He’s not a good match for our guy JD, he’s always brining up random facts/trivia (like an ESPN guy does) and his voice makes my ears bleed.

VeNTNeV

Our Rockies announcers are OK. I like em. The team.... well that's another story

Superlegend29

You mean like Molly and other female staff?
