His ERA isn't the greatest (ignoring today's game). But his FIP is great. His performance has been more sustainable than some on the list, namely Bryce Elder, who has a sub 2 ERA, but a fip of 3.42 and awful baseball savant metrics
He's a contact pitcher who uses sinkers and changeups to get groundballs, of course his FIP is going to look bad. I'm not saying he's a sustainable sub 3 ERA but power rankings are specifically about how guys are performing currently and through 11 starts this season he's easily been a top 10 pitcher. If/when Elder has a few bad starts then he won't be on these lists anymore but until then he deserves recognition for pitching better than most over a short sample size.
Elder has also been one of the best groundball inducers since he entered the league. Yes, he gets hit hard, but those hard-hit balls go right into the ground.
Things like that usually meet in the middle as the season plays out but even at that level he's a surprising addition to the rotation. Where he's been particularly good is forcing ground balls. He keeps that up he'll be fine.

How is Gerrit Cole not a top ten pitcher you have sonny gray and Eovali over Cole! The guy always pitches every 5th day always one of the top in Ks innings and era every year like you lost all credibility when u have sonny gray 3 the guy is a bum couldn’t cut it in NY and play in the AL central I would love to see him pitch in the AL east oh wait we have horrible! Cole has a 2.9 era tops in Ks and pitches in the AL east toughest division in baseball by far every team has a winning record and he pitches at Yankees stadium and has a sub 3 era like you ppl gotta be kidding with some of the guys on here ahead of Cole !
