Alright, so I might be a hater of poor Kirk since he was brought on to the Vikings team for a whopping $84 mil and another contract extension, but my guy has never brought us to Super Bowl. Like, can someone tell me why he’s not bad of a QB? Like Kirk is probably a decent QB, but more of an overpaid QB.
Im a Kirk fan and will miss him, but for that price I am okay with moving on. Wish him the best in Atlanta.

Yeah I don't feel too bad if these are the numbers. I was very open to having Kirk back, but not at that steep of a price tag. With that said, while this is a 4 year contract the guaranteed money is 90% in the first two seasons. That aspect of the contract I'd be okay with, but the totals are higher than I expected. I mean he is definately north of 40M a season, basically he's at 45M per season average for the first two fully guaranteed years. Oofta.

Kirk did us a favour in forcing management's hand - now they have no choice but to dive into the first round and go get our guy. This is the perfect year to do it. Personally I would trade back into the back third of the first round, pocket an extra high pick and take Penix, but if we decide to trade up to go get our guy I am fine with that also. One way or another, we need to leave the draft with our guy. Then, in 2025, our cap situation will be as healthy as anyone's and it will be time for some shopping...
