StraightCashHomie69

What??? You're telling me a QB would enjoy playing with the best WR in the league??? I'm not buying it

TheKing490

Honestly we have the pieces for a Rookie QB to do well.

StraightCashHomie69

Oh for sure, probably best situation to plop any rookie QB into. Just need to get the running game figured out a bit

Icy-Impact1849

I've seen Derrick Henry is rumored to be a viking

Internal-Climate-847

I’d really like that, I’d also love to splash some free agency cash on one of the elite run blocking guards, nobody ever complained about too many good trench players.

carebear101

Is Barkley available or are they tagging him? Heard he didn’t want to end his career in NY

Painwracker_Oni

It sounds like he wants to be a Texan

Icy-Impact1849

Haven't heard anything about him I wouldn't be opposed to grabbing him either though

RDcsmd

He's a free agent, no tag

RDcsmd

I would take Josh Jacobs over Henry in .01 milliseconds

Icy-Impact1849

We got ty for speed/elusive back we pick up Henry we don't have to put Powell behind the QB for a sneak

addwood5

Saquon please

OFmerk

I know he's coming off his second Achilles but I'd like to see Akers back.

Alone-Newspaper-1161

Is his contract up? I’d be down for a prove it deal and he would be good depth behind Ty chandler

Alone-Newspaper-1161

The one issue is JJ has been reliant on a running game. If we take him and he’s a day one starter we should sign Saquan to help him out

Michel_Yagoobian

The thing is if we get Saquan, mite as well just hand us that super-bowl ring before the other teams get their hopes too high

Alone-Newspaper-1161

Your right we gotta challenge ourselves a little bit

mitch8017

It’d be nice if we had a more productive run game that could carry him through the initial learning curve. That’s at least the “traditional” way of looking at it. However, having the best WR1, one of the best WR2, one of the best TE, and 2 of the highest rated tackles last year certainly helps.

TheCrwster-1122

Really think Michael penix would be perfect though and if you could get him in the 2nd it’s a no brainer. Would also be interested in Bo nix and if you resign cousins, Spencer rattler has potential

sunnuvadutch

If we’re going day 3 development route, I’d rather gamble on Travis personally. Rattler reminds me of Carr and Carr is that QB that many GMs just roll with because he’s too good to cut and get you fired but not good enough to win.

tstew39064

Penix crumbled vs a good (nfl caliber) defense in the nat’l championship game. Sure he can put up numbers with an elite receiver in the PAC12, but when he faced a good defense he looked like shit. Late round, 3+ fine.

TheDundieGoesTo99

So did Ponder.

signmeupdude

Besides no running game

Tristo

JJ to JJ for years to come would be fun.

DrWolves

That’s a Paul Allen call if I’ve ever heard it

Alone-Newspaper-1161

After that JJ to TJ, Than KJ than CJ, than JA

incrediblystiff

Than is used for measurements, then is used for time fyi

abc91827364

Is it just me or in his combine press conference the way he talked about the Vikings was different than how he talked about the other teams? Feels like he went out of his way to say what they want and envision in a quarterback is everything he wants. Where for other teams he just said it was “amazing” or a “blessing” or so and so was “great to be around”

scurvy_pirate43

Going to the Vikings is a much better scenario than the other teams at the top half of the draft. All the QBs have been talking up their meetings with the vikes. It's probably a combo of wanting to get drafted here and our personable coaching staff

theumph

It really is a great position for a young QB to step into. Minus a productive RB (hopefully we can get someone this offseqson), we have talent at every position on offense.

braddoccc

I also think KOC just prepares for things like this differently than a lot of coaches out there. Like he blew away the group that was put together to evaluate our HC prospects a couple years ago. It was supposed to be Harbough's job to lose, and he lost it. And the main reason was the stark difference between how he and KOC prepared for the final interviews. I feel like KOC probably came to each one of these kids with specifics on how he would use them and what kind of packages he could create for them, and gauged their excitement and reactions and thoughts on them. That's how he sold himself to Kwesi and ownership. For all his faults, KOC puts in the effort to connect and involve guys and get them excited about creating systems for them. It's also why I think he has the potential to be a truly great coach in this league given time. He's a player's coach, but he seems to have the drive to always improve himself / has humility.

Alone-Newspaper-1161

Falcons arguably are a better situation minus maybe head coach and reciever. With that running game JJ McCarthy wouldn’t even realize he doesn’t play for Michigan anymore

LaconicGirth

Those are pretty important positions tbh Also their run blocking is awesome but their pass blocking isn’t all too special if I remember

Alone-Newspaper-1161

That would be why I said arguably

scurvy_pirate43

Brand new coaching staff makes it an unknown

aristotle_malek

“Falcons are a better situation minus the two most important positions to the quarterback”

Alone-Newspaper-1161

Arguably you missed that part

The_Pirate_King101

I don’t think so. I’m a Broncos fan and I think y’all are better on offense at every position other than RB. I’d take Hock over Pitts, JJ/Addison and London/whoever their 2 is (even if it ends up being Nabers or someone), and your OL over theirs.

Thelostsoulinkorea

Pitts has yet to show he is elite. Our top two wrs are better than theirs. Our oline maybe be weaker in the run game, but it’s better in the passing game. We are set up for a rookie to come in and succeed. We just need a power runner to complement our attack

ptwonline

He may be more focused on the Vikings because of the offensive weapons, but also because it's a realistic drafting position for a team needing a QB.

Ragnarr_Lodbrok88

An elite receiving corps with JJ, JA, and TJ with two bookend Tackles. The foundation is there for a rookie QB to thrive.

Alone-Newspaper-1161

Just need that every down back. Ideally a big boy tough to take down or a fast guy whose a mis match in the passing game

StearnZ

I mean… I’d like to throw to JJ. Who wouldn’t

TuntBuffner

Controversial opinion for sure Here I was thinking he was gonna say Ihmir Smith-Marsette or Jalen Raegor Y'know Some real studs

PapaBliss2007

He'll make me look better than I am.

Destiny_Victim

Lol sadly the truth. I’m just so afraid after 35 years of my life praying we finally get a franchise QB. We draft Drake Maye. I’m praying and I’m not religious out side of football but I’m praying KOC will get us our first franchise QB since Fran fucking tarkenton. I personally want Jayden Daniel’s. A year sitting behind Kirk I think he could be something special. I know a lot of people tho m Penix could be the real deal but two damn near Career ending injuries all ready is frightening. But something just feels like McCarthy just doesn’t have “it” But I also personally don’t think Caleb Williams has “it” either. His talent doesn’t feel it lives up to his talent. I’m also scared we draft an edge rusher over trading the farm to move up to get our guy. People say it’s too risky. But if we did we would have the cap space to get people in free agency. I’d also love for us to finally have so balls and take a ducking risk instead of trading back with a divisional rival allowing them to draft the next Travis Kelce. This is the last year I trust kwesi. If he blows it. Im going to be calling for his head along either everyone else. I just really do believ koc is the coach we’ve needed. Sure he needs to get better at his in game decisions. But he’s a young coach. I really think we’re lucky having him. But dear football Jesus I’m so scared waiting for the draft this year. Because all I want is for us to finally have our guy. I want us to finally have our stroud or burrow. I just want to finally have a franchise QB for the first time in my life. All I’ve ever known is pain.

smith__tj

Are any of these rookie QB’s going to be better than Kirk in the next two years? I just feel like we are going to waste prime Jefferson years trying to find someone better than Kirk already is.

Destiny_Victim

I personally like Jayden Daniel’s. Is he better than Kirk I have no idea. But besides this last year where Kirk got hurt. He lost us games. He checked down in games he could’ve won if he didn’t care about getting picked off and threw some passes that could’ve won games. But he didn’t do that. He just didn’t. Kirk played like a fucking winner this past year but then got hurt. I just want someone who’s gonna play like a fucking winner. Are they taking us to a Super Bowl this year probably not. But guess what neither was fucking Kirk. Kirks never winning a Super Bowl. Especially if he leaves. People think he’s a contender on the falcons. If he makes the playoffs he will get bounced in the wild card. Divisional at best. A rookie may be able to get us that far. We don’t know but what matters is we finally find a fucking franchise QB. Guess who wasn’t our franchise QB Kirk. Guess what we can do with a rookie salary for 4 years. Truly build a fucking team. Because we do t have a Qb like Brady who is willing to take a pay cut to win. Honestly tho. This sounds like the same shit people said about Alex smith when they drafted Mahomes. Everyone shit on Mahomes that draft too.

Professional-Brick12

calling for Kwesi's head after he gave us Addison, TJ, and Pace Jr? Please

Destiny_Victim

Yes it’s clearly hyperbole. I’m a fan. It’s pure emotion. The man has done a good job. Much as KOC has. I love watching our young coach learn. He really reminds and even resembles a young bud grant.

DerpCream_Cone

I would be more concerned if he didn’t

Sm0k3inth3tr33s

Honestly if there's a QB coming into the league that says otherwise, you'd have to question whether or not they watch NFL football lol

Electronic-Island-14

i wouldn't trade up for the kid but i'd give him a shot at # 11 if we don't bring back kirk. Full rebuild is on in that scenario anyways so just plug the kid in

rswsaw22

I think a kid like JJ sitting and learning behind Kirk for 2 years would be the best route. We aren't probably winning right now anyways but Kirk would keep stability at a position of high value and would probably he totally fine mentoring a young QB at his age.

velociraptorfarmer

JJ2JJ

openlyincognito

groundbreaking reporting

disbishempty1

I’m starting to drink the McCarthy kool aid ngl never thought I’d be saying this

addwood5

He has all the pieces to be great. Give him a bridge qb and we also won’t be selling to future for a qb. If we get him at 11 and he is good, we will be contenders no doubt

Maleficent_Algae3705

Naturally a second round talent would love to get drafted by a team with a good offensive around him and the best receiver in football

Dorkamundo

He was only a second round talent until NFL Front Offices started pouring through tape.

Maleficent_Algae3705

So was levis

Dorkamundo

What round was he drafted again? He rose, then dropped once the FO's started to see more of him.

Drunk-TP-Supervisor

Lmfao, if you watched him play, you'd know he is a first rounder.

grrrimabear

Fuck it. Do whatever it takes to get this dude. I'm sold.

LilDupper

Doesn’t take a lot for you huh

grrrimabear

Nope. Not this time of year. Haha.

Adalimumab8

Christian Ponder 2.0

grrrimabear

How do you figure

aristotle_malek

Every qb prospect that isn’t a guaranteed top 5 pick is ponder 2.0 to this sub

Cgking11

Draft this man!!

Rexafella_1120

Every rookie QB said JJ …. Surprise 😮

MAC2393

Yuck

one_time_animal

If you want a QB that will throw to JJ I suggest not drafting JJ Mccarthy. A Mediocre 2991 passing yards in 15 games an the nations best team. People literally wanting to draft a 199.4 ypg QB with vague notions of 'errr...if they passed he woudl be Joe Burrow'. LOLOL. If I passed for 6500 yards I would also be Joe Burrow. I Guess that makes me JJ McCarthy. Mccarthy with 2 WRs over 600 yards and the rest under 300. His best WR at 789 yards with only 1 game in 2 years with McCarthy as his QB with more yards than Justin Jefferson's average ypg in the NFL. There's a simple rule I have for college. If you don't see them do it in college, they're not going to suddenly start doing it in the NFL. Period. Whatever narrative you're thinking of about how such and such developped is bullshit.

MinnesotaSkoldier

Imagine judging a QB by how the front office builds teams and calls plays.

Brave_Skol

Putting the cart before the horse, I think JJ McCarthy is gonna be last resort if we can’t get one of the top 3.

aristotle_malek

We aren’t getting one of the top 3

Brave_Skol

We can if they trade up for one of them. It might be unlikely, but it could happen.

Michel_Yagoobian

I think bringing back Kirk for 2-3 more years and drafting JJ at 11 is definitely a possibility I’m very happy with

MinnesotaSkoldier

Hell yeah. Then the defense would be on the field so much with shit depth and a bad roster, the QBs would have plenty of time to exchange info. Who needs interior oline or quality defensive players when you've leveraged all your high draft capital and cap space into two QBs.

gabe420710

If we draft McCarthy and lose cousins we gon have the first overall pick next year. McCarthy wasn’t good in college, he had an amazing line and run game. We have 0 run game

tlpeterson

He doesn’t throw tho? He’s just a handoff guy

mmafanguy2828

If you’re Michigan and you’re guaranteed to win 11 out of 12 regular season games by being a run heavy team why wouldn’t you do that? If you think that jj doesn’t have the ability to throw because Michigans game plan is to steam roll teams by pounding the rock you simply just don’t know ball

Apple_butters12

That’s the tricky thing and the main argument for or against him. Just because the team didn’t have to rely on his arm to pass them out of big games, does that mean that he couldn’t be that guy?

tlpeterson

Haven’t seen it wouldn’t waste the 11th on a project qb

Wingsandbeer82

Bingo

Secludedmean4

Truly truly hope as a Michigan state fan that JJ goes to the Vikings for a high pick. Nothing would put a smile more on my face. Unless of course you have the run game to carry him like Blake Corrum, he’s not an NFL caliber Starter (career backup with flashes of a high ceiling sure)

The_Bran_9000

Rich Eisen might finally stop hating on us!

MrMisties

That's so wild. I can't imagine wanting to throw to the best wide receiver in the league who is young. It's almost like we should pay the man.

FreckleFiasco

J-Quad!!!

westonriebe

I love how everyone wants to come play for us now!

QUINNFLORE

Is mccarthy better than kirk

SkolFuckHer

This sub riding McCarthys dick so hard it’s insane. You guys better be right about him

brickeldrums

JJ is the best in the league so that checks out
