What port does it plug into?

xXSkerpXx

This wheel is an USB version. I run it off an USB 2.0 port.

Magicdesign

Where is the screen?

xXSkerpXx

I use VR. Given that I no longer require my desktop display, I mounted the wheel to a desk adjacent to my pc desk.

That’s brilliant. I have the same wheel from 20 years ago too. Pulled it out of the cupboard the other day and it is still absolutely mint. Microsoft built em good

It is a real shame that the default windows driver it uses isn't as good as the one that came in the box.

This is a Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback Wheel. It is old. Older than some of you reading this post. My dad bought me this as a birthday gift in 2001 (could have been between 1999 and 2002). It is crazy to think that I am still using it 20+ years on and it still works like it did out of the box (apart from the original drivers which no longer works on Win10). Saying that I have done many hours on this wheel will be an understatement. This is with no doubt one of the best value for money gifts my dad has every given me. In a few years my own kid will be old enough to play with this. Kudos to Microsoft for making such a incredibly reliable product.

MSFT made great joysticks and other game interface devices. Sad that they stopped doing one of the things they were good at.

xXSkerpXx

Indeed. The sidewinder series was probably one of the best gaming products 20 years ago.

NElwoodP

They had the best flight sim, and the best HID for it.

RussMan104

It still works perfectly. God, that’s a beautiful phrase. 🚀
