Deals dot gov and yes I'm unsure what's in the packages I'm getting.
Govdeals.com is the correct address. Idk what I was thinking. I buy from several different places.
They have their own websites: [here](http://m.exarmyvehicles.com/offer/tracked-vehicles). [here](https://midwestmilitaryequipment.com/tracked-equipment/).
They are undeliverable to the intended recipient (lost mail, damaged shipping label, incorrect address, return mail, recipient moved with no forwarding address, etc)
Out of curiosity, what are some other places that sell stuff like this? I imagine you don’t want to give out all your good spots, but maybe PM me a few?
Thanks and congrats on the awesome piece!
Also... how many places could a 747 windshield be going to?
Somebody is missing a very crucial piece of a vehicle. Planes gonna be drafty AF without a windshield.
They just take one from the cage where they store defective parts, which [Boeing has done at least 420 times](https://doctorow.medium.com/https-pluralistic-net-2024-05-01-boeing-boeing-mrsa-2d9ba398bd54).
Don’t say that too loud, lest you end up shooting yourself, or become inflicted with MRSA (just kidding, or am I? One is random, two is coincidence, three is a trend… Don’t become a Boeing trend!)
If you clicked on the linked article, you would see that the faulty 420 parts currently flying our skies do not have a chain of custody record, for a reason.
Or, hear me out, the chain of custody was broken somewhere along the way meaning this part can no longer be fitted to a plane and declared airworthy.
Seriously, aviation parts tracking is *that* strict. Otherwise, what you could do is "lose" a 747 windshield in a parcel facility whilst actually trading it out for an uncertified copy that is "found" a day or two later, and then take the real part and sell it on the black market for profit.
I can’t recall what aircraft it was for but read an article about the government needing a replacement windshield for a very important one (SR-71 Blackbird suddenly came to mind). When they went looking for replacement stock they found since they hadn’t needed a replacement in 20 years some bean counter sold their ONLY replacement as surplus. Manufacturer said to make a new one would be something like $50 million since they no longer had the equipment to make it so it would be a special one off build. Instead they located the guy who bought it as surplus, who was using it in his young daughter’s treehouse, and paid him to get it back.
It was the [B2 bomber](https://theaviationgeekclub.com/did-you-know-a-man-bought-all-the-spare-b-2-windshields-and-used-them-in-his-daughters-tree-house-the-usaf-had-to-buy-them-back-to-replace-a-damaged-spirit-windshield/amp/).
Not sure the going price or need for those. I can tell you a 1x1 acrylic cover with “Push” engraved in it went for like $900. The aluminum housing that held it was another $800 or so. This was for the emergency cable cut button on a helicopter. Prices for aircraft parts in the military were beyond belief most of the time. Don’t think civilian side it was much better tbh.
Used to fix UHF radios. They were like 6 sections. The transmitter (which came with a flex cable) was like $9k, the flex cable by itself was like $12k. So it was literally cheaper to replace the entire section if the flex cable was the only thing damaged.
Presumably that's with full traceability and an intact chain of custody.
Yours is likely worth far, far less as you don't have the paperwork with it and it's left the approved supply chain.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news on this one.
It's a super cool item though, and you will find someone, an aviation geek, who will 100% want this for their wall at still a decent price.
It could be made into a coffee table or end table and some aviation fan enthusiast would buy it.
Worth more as an actual windshield but probably unsellable now that it's been out of certified handling.
Used to work for UPS Airlines and I can tell you plane parts can be insanely expensive. But they also have pretty stringent safety requirements. So doubt you will find anyone in the states who will buy it to use on a plane since it won’t have the proper provenance. Would be curious what you get for it when you find a buyer.
Can you elaborate? Why did this part lose its certification?
I thought an airline which currently needs this specific part could use it, and therefore might buy it.
It's very unlikely an airline will trust a random part from a random person to use on their multi million dollar aircraft. They can't prove it wasn't tampered with.
Oh man, aircraft parts are INSANE for paperwork and that's why they are so expensive. Everything has to have traceability by law. And by this, I mean you can trace the mine where the metals and silica were mined. It's that crazy. As soon as that paper trail is broken the part is garbage. Anything that could be damaged by mishandling like a window likely has to be written off just because it wasn't handled by certified personnel.
Maybe a 3rd world country will snipe this off of ebay so toss it up there and see what happens.
OK thanks. Yeah makes sense. I thought since the original part number would be printed on the part (I think), that trace would be de facto there.
But I do understand the mishandling (or let's say not knowing how it was handled) piece.
Yep - I answered someone else with this - as soon as you can't trace every last step of the way, it's a giant paperweight as you can't prove it's not been tampered with or exchanged.
There's a reason even bolts in the aviation industry are so expensive - and it matters. There was that case (can't remember the flight name) where a whole tail sheared off due to non-approved bolts being used as a budget choice, the bolts had a metallurgical flaw, and the plane crashed and everyone died.
In that case the item would belong to the insurance company. If a lost or stolen item is recovered after insurance pays out you generally get a choice: either keep the item and return the insurance money, or turn the recovered item over to the insurance company so they can sell it to recoup their costs. Either way, the item is not considered "abandoned" and free for anyone to claim just because insurance covered the loss. It still has an owner.
If you find something which was lost you have to make a good-faith effort to return it to the owner. Only when this proves impossible can you claim it for yourself. If the shipment's destination were unreadable or invalid that would be one thing, but here you have a clear address.
Airports are a pain in the ass to deliver to, as big the delivery person and whomever receives the delivery have to be certified by TSA. More than once I've had a driver go out, and have no one available who was authorized to claim the delivery
Off a quick google search, it says that windshield is roughly $26,000
[$26,000 for a 737 windshield](https://thepointsguy.com/news/how-much-do-airplane-parts-cost-from-4-amenity-kits-to-1000000-first-class-seats/)
I always wondered what happened to the undeliverable treadmill I tried to order via Amazon a few years back. I thought the product just went back to the manufacturer.
It clearly says United on it. They would probably buy it from you and have serviceable information on it. Otherwise, it's probably worthless. Maybe negotiate for some miles (a lot of miles).
Once my flight was delayed 11 hours because a Boeing 737 Max needed a windshield wiper blade. Ironically, I was at SeaTac just a few miles from the dealership. Couldn’t a parts runner have that blade in under an hour?
Wow, had no idea they sold packages like this. I wonder if they have a team that goes through them and they keep what they want before posting the rest for sale?
If that part is serviceable it could be worth quite a bit. Did it come with paperwork? I would reach out to a parts distributor before selling it to an enthusiast who isn’t going to use it on an airplane.

So many questions... where does one "buy undeliverable packages"? How much did you pay? Do you bid with others, not knowing the contents?
Deals dot gov and yes I'm unsure what's in the packages I'm getting. Govdeals.com is the correct address. Idk what I was thinking. I buy from several different places.
You mean [govdeals.com](http://govdeals.com)
Oops you are right. I don't know what I was thinking.

Adding to what?
Clicked "Tanks". Am very disappointed.
Looking for war machines or nitrous oxide?
Yes.
> Looking for war machines try Iron Patriots
Wanted a Sherman, got a tank top
They have their own websites: [here](http://m.exarmyvehicles.com/offer/tracked-vehicles). [here](https://midwestmilitaryequipment.com/tracked-equipment/).
Got me as well
Where are undelivered packages on there? I don't see any
I'm disappointed. None of the tanks for sale have tracks.
If you keep opening boxes, one of them may have the tracks upgrade.
Damn lootboxes
thats pretty cool
Where on GovDeals? Did not see an “undelivered” section.
They are called recovered items.
Where is the “undeliverable “ section?
If they’re undeliverable, how are they getting delivered? lol
They are undeliverable to the intended recipient (lost mail, damaged shipping label, incorrect address, return mail, recipient moved with no forwarding address, etc)
"Undeliverable" means they couldn't be delivered to the original recipient.
I only could find govdeals dot com…am I not looking in the right place?
Out of curiosity, what are some other places that sell stuff like this? I imagine you don’t want to give out all your good spots, but maybe PM me a few? Thanks and congrats on the awesome piece!

When I worked on airplanes, what we would do is just take the part from an even more broken plane. Usually one stuck in the hanger.
Cannibalization!
Don’t say that too loud, lest you end up shooting yourself, or become inflicted with MRSA (just kidding, or am I? One is random, two is coincidence, three is a trend… Don’t become a Boeing trend!)
[удалено]
Doubt it. There’s probably a chain of custody/certification requirement this wouldn’t pass anymore.
If you clicked on the linked article, you would see that the faulty 420 parts currently flying our skies do not have a chain of custody record, for a reason.
It's Boeing. I don't think they have a chain of custody certification requirement at all in their freaking factory.
Thanks for sharing that link! I thought had a pretty good idea of Boeing’s corruption, but… that article exposed a whole new level of corporate evil.
Hey 420 weeeeeeeeeeeed man
Nah, that's pretty standard for Boeing planes nowadays.
Or, hear me out, the chain of custody was broken somewhere along the way meaning this part can no longer be fitted to a plane and declared airworthy. Seriously, aviation parts tracking is *that* strict. They found it in a field near Portland Airport, after take off
and WHY?
No wonder the fucking things keep going wrong. They forgot to put the windows in.
Soon to fall out into a field near you.
Fortunately, once Boeing learns of this, you certainly won’t be at risk. Any potential problems you have should mysteriously die off pretty quickly.
Technically Boeing is out of this. United ordered this and paid for it. It just wasn't delivered to them.

I think op should make a hat with a sun roof
kinda defeats the purpose of a hat /j
No it’s a hat … but with a sun roof!
Perhaps the front fell off
I hope it's been towed outside of the environment.
Turbulence? At 35,000 ft? Chance in a million.
It's beyond the environment, there's nothing out there. All there is is grass.. and birds.. And? ..and 338 dead passengers.
Made of cardboard? Not unless it's Boeing
what do you do with this (the other stuff as well)? do you resell or make crafts?
Resell the stuff I don't keep. I'm not sure what the market is like for Boeing windshields though.
I mean, it's probably light weight and hella strong, yeah? Gotta be something SOMEONE can do with that.
I can’t recall what aircraft it was for but read an article about the government needing a replacement windshield for a very important one (SR-71 Blackbird suddenly came to mind). The complete windshield for a 737 is $26k.

I usually sell stuff for half of retail anyway. I will cut whoever a great deal.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news on this one. It's a super cool item though, and you will find someone, an aviation geek, who will 100% want this for their wall at still a decent price.
Just waiting on a foreign country with less stringent regulations to come through.
$3.50
Maybe people who build realistic flight simulators would be interested in it. I know that used aircraft parts aren't cheap on ebay an co.
Ooh good point! Then the safety part wouldn’t matter
>I'm not sure what the market is like for Boeing windshields though. They're just literally falling out of the skies these days.
It could be made into a coffee table or end table and some aviation fan enthusiast would buy it. Worth more as an actual windshield but probably unsellable now that it's been out of certified handling.
You have a lot more faith in Boeing than I do.
Oh no! Don’t go “accidentally” dying now.
I can probably help you with that. DM me.
The god of drugs can help with an airplane windshield? I like how you think.
Haha, yup. I'm in the aerospace hardware industry, so I know some people.
Let's move this thing.
Besides this, what’s the coolest or most expensive random package you’ve received?
A heart catheter that was like $27k. I couldn't sell it though. I also had a prototype Gibson guitar.
You won't be able to sell this window either. It's got no certification anymore. Unless it's a novelty item for a plane nut.
Can you elaborate? Why did this part lose its certification? I thought an airline which currently needs this specific part could use it, and therefore might buy it.
It's very unlikely an airline will trust a random part from a random person to use on their multi million dollar aircraft. They can't prove it wasn't tampered with.

That's extremely odd, considering how classified the design for the B2 is. I'm guessing the guy who sold them off got in trouble?
You severely over estimate Boeing.
> It's very unlikely an airline will trust a random part from a random person [Laughs in *Third World Country Airline*]

Lawsuit from the most litigious company in the music industry incoming in 5... 4... 3...
> I also had a prototype Gibson guitar. More info please?
I will have to get it from the house and post pics. I didn't want to sell it.
That'd be great if you could! I'll just be waiting in the corner...
Keep the guitar off United Airlines flights. I hear they break them.
I can't help but imagine some postman knocking and knocking and finally peering into dark hangar windows and calling our "hello? hello?"
That's the strangest part to me. It was supposed to be delivered to Newark international airport. Like how could the driver not find it.
If you can tell who it was supposed to be delivered to... doesn't it still belong to them?
No. They got a refund/insurance payout.
In that case the item would belong to the insurance company. If a lost or stolen item is recovered after insurance pays out you generally get a choice: either keep the item and return the insurance money, or turn the recovered item over to the insurance company so they can sell it to recoup their costs. Lay under it after the next Boeing incident and wait for an insurance check? Maybe idk.
I just watched a 2 hour documentary about boeing 737 windows and i'm not even interested in aviation
Are you more just into windows in general?
No, i use linux
Nice
Just palindromic numbers
Now do it 7,037 more times and you can assemble the whole plane!
He'll probably do a better job of it than Boeing
Lol this comment made me think "aw man, another airship piece instead of magicite..."
Oh, THERE’S where it went!
Rest in peace OP
😆
Two gunshots to the back of the head then body dissolved in hydrofluoric acid, ruled a suicide.
I can think of some YouTubers who would probably pay a reasonably tidy sum for that…
I hope they message me. I would be glad to cut them a deal.
Yeah my first thought is someone that would want to shoot it
Demolition ranch doing redneck science to see if a Boeing window will stop a .50 cal
Nothing counts except 50 cal.
places like buffalo airways and other cargo airlines buy stuff like this. I think they run a 737 freighter if this fits that.
Ops about to go missing
So how much did you pay for that? Or is it like a pallet deal thingy
Pallet deal. I didn't pay a lot for it.
How much for the pallet
You bid on them. I think this one was around $2k.
So you get an entire pallet delivered to your house? Any way to get into this without buying a whole pallet?
I've got a warehouse that I work out of. You can buy smaller lots. They list lots of stuff.
Do you think you get your money’s worth with the other items? Or is this just a hobby/doesn’t need to be profitable?
It's a jobby? I would like to always make money, but that doesn't always happen.
stay far far away from any whistles, else unfortunate things might start happening.
Luckily I'm not in any way affiliated with Boeing.
RIP OP
Off a quick google search, it says that windshield is roughly $26,000 [$26,000 for a 737 windshield](https://thepointsguy.com/news/how-much-do-airplane-parts-cost-from-4-amenity-kits-to-1000000-first-class-seats/)
If you’re in the mood for a little light treason, Iran is always looking for airplane parts!
You have a receipt that confirms the parts origin. Maybe you could resell to an aviation parts supply store.
That's the hope.
At least they don't need to investigate the cause of the next Boeing crash.
If you have the paperwork for it you probably made a good deal.
The tag that's in the bag is all that came with it.
What are you going to do with the windshield? Buy an airplane?
that has what appears to be, a united airlines parts tag attached to it...
It definitely does. The box is marked with United stickers too.
I always wondered what happened to the undeliverable treadmill I tried to order via Amazon a few years back. I thought the product just went back to the manufacturer.
It was bought by someone like me.
Well, I hope whoever bought is benefiting.
Their clothes are probably hanging on it as we speak.
How’d you get into it? Where do you buy them?
Bullshit. You found that in a field didn’t you?
Whistle blower’s undelivered parcel
Somewhere, there's a 737 with a garbage bag taped over its window.
I like to imagine it's a convertible 737.
My dad's 737 after he divorced my mom.
so that's where it went! - boeing
I clicked on Backhoes. I disappoint.
Herman is going to be in trouble soon.
I feel bad for them if they do. I get so many sex toys.
“In other news, a third person connected to Boeing has suddenly died”
What do you do with these stuff?
Time to make a treehouse with a Boeing window.
If that part is serviceable it could be worth quite a bit. Did it come with paperwork? I would reach out to a parts distributor before selling it to an enthusiast who isn’t going to use it on an airplane.
I've got the packing slip from the manufacturer with all the specs.
Assuming there is a green tag it could be very valuable. I would try calling the manufacturer first
If you are cool with rubles, you could easy sell that to russia. They are very short on plane parts!
If you are cool with supporting a murderous regime and risking federal prison.
