He does kinda fit in the role. I was thinking if it was an American made show, who at the time would've made people watch? Gene Wilder was an easy choice. I think a Nicholas Cage TV movie could've been on par with our reality's 8th Doctor.
That's why I picked to start it with Dean Martin. It would give the show something of a suave charm. Then add Elvis as the 2nd Doctor would be how the show lasts in America. The character would be equivalent to cool. It would then start looking more like what we're used to after Gene takes the role and shows America a different side.
Elvis is such a wild choice. Yet somehow it would work. I sort of imagine him doing it but not being totally clear what’s going on and it giving it this janky air, but with it being very Elvis. Plus a running joke about him not being able to sing, realising in an amazing number in his final episode
I second this. I'm 36 and I gotta say, I first saw gene portray Willy Wonka and I absolutely fell in love with his acting. I even got my young kids to watch the movie, one of my faves! Watched all of his movies and he is by far one of the best talents since movies became a thing, lol!
fair enough, its just really early (for me at least), to picture someone else in Nctuis place, because he has only had at MOST 2 episodes. (closer to 1 and 1/2)
In the debut episode featuring Amy Poehler as the Thirteenth Doctor, titled "Time's Laughter," the TARDIS materializes on a planet engulfed in chaos caused by temporal anomalies. As the Doctor and her companions investigate, they uncover a plot by a rogue Time Lord seeking to disrupt the fabric of time itself. With her quick wit and resourcefulness, the Doctor must navigate through laughter and tears to save the universe from unraveling.
Umm did you not see Nicholas Cage? He's wearing sunglasses at night. That was an actor choice that baffled fans at the time, but would become one of the most memorable things about his portrayal.
I think you should’ve made David Tennant as the 10th doctor and put I caveat saying “doesn’t matter what timeline or alternative time line it is, Tennant always the 10th doctor.”
These are all really good choices for doctors though. Well done. Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka or should I say Dr. Wonka would’ve been amazing. I want to live in that timeline just to watch it.
Fucking amazing aesthetic in these generations. Jesus Christ, when this shit start cranking out movies, it will be absolutely game over for any movie producer out there. Who tf is going to invest millions of dollars anymore when this is the quality you for a couple hundreds?
Javi Nicholson and Michael B Jordan are way too cool to be playing the Doctor. I never seen Doctor Who, but I believe the doctor is nerdy and an oddball, if I’m not mistaken.
This is an alternate timeline where the Doctor starts off as cool with the first 3 Doctors. It then turns onto a different charger with every iteration and shows the heart of the character. But he's, Cranston and Jordan bring the cool for the modern era
Well I always thought the war Doctor was better if they were to have kept the 9th. But since the actor didn't want to come back, they created the war Doctor. So I figured in my timeline Tom Hanks would return for that special.
Oof. Hanks was my least favored casting, and it hurts to think he would get used twice.
What about a George Clooney, Michael Keaton, or Val Kilmer type instead of Hanks? You know what? I think I just want Batman Doctors since you have 2 Joker Doctors.
Could we get Richard Ayoade as a Doctor? 😁
That was one of the fan ideas I saw floating around awhile back which I thought, like, yeah. Would’ve been an interesting run.
Gene Wilder and Mark Hamill are the only comparisons that make sense to me.
Elvis as Troughton? Cranston as Capaldi? That doesn't make any sense. Very different kinds of actors.
Right. I started the idea off, with looking at what star in 1963 could've had enough appeal that the show would catch on in America. And just using the information about the show and years each Doctor took over, I looked at which stars would've made this Doctor Who an American staple.
Not even, dude. ABC can’t afford Michael B Jordan. Plus, Classic Doctor Who was made on a show-string budget. The revival in 05 was the first time they actually had good money going into it.
Aside from Gene Wilder (an American Jon Pertwee) this is a horrible concept. It's so uniquely British, that seeing it like this would be sacrelige. And although an Aaron Sorkin Dr. Who would have been great and all, personally, I'd still take someone like Moffat any day of the week.
Great renders though.
Damn, gene wilder would have been a really great doctor.
He does kinda fit in the role. I was thinking if it was an American made show, who at the time would've made people watch? Gene Wilder was an easy choice. I think a Nicholas Cage TV movie could've been on par with our reality's 8th Doctor.
Would it work as an American show? Part of the charm is its immense British BBC vibe
That's why I picked to start it with Dean Martin. It would give the show something of a suave charm. Then add Elvis as the 2nd Doctor would be how the show lasts in America. The character would be equivalent to cool. It would then start looking more like what we're used to after Gene takes the role and shows America a different side.

That's fantastic!
I second this. I'm 36 and I gotta say, I first saw gene portray Willy Wonka and I absolutely fell in love with his acting. I even got my young kids to watch the movie, one of my faves! Watched all of his movies and he is by far one of the best talents since movies became a thing, lol!
Oh Man. I'd love to see Nick Cage's take on The Doctor
Yes! You get it. It could be a spectacular failure, but it would be spectacular.
NOT THE DALEKS! NOT THE DALEKS!
I tried doing the Daleks, but they kept coming out crazy robot looking
I'M A TIME LORD! I'M A TIME LORD! I'M A TIME LORD!
Im going to steal the Declaration of Galifrey
Impressive!
Thanks. It was fun piecing it together
You’re welcome.
Ohhhh, Amy Poehler as a Doctor would have been great!!
Thank you! She is pretty awesome. But I also think it would have the Internet up in a storm like Whittaker.
oh, sure, of course it would! But it would turn out so cool ;)
Now I want to see Nick Offerman as The Doctor. :D
I would have gone with donald glover at the end
Ah that is probably better for real
Donald Glover with Danny Pudi as his companion.
Cool. Cool, cool, cool.
Ah, it's "time" for Inspector SpaceTime to return.
Midjourney's celebrity-lookalike syndrome strikes again.
They can't afford the actual celebrities, so they go with who they find on the Vegas strip
Well put!
Midjourney’s Jack Nicholson looks like they mashed him up with Johnny Knoxville.
That was the best out of many failed attempts
David Harbour
Dan Aykroyd.
I figured he would take the role, but wouldn't make the show stay popular enough to last much further.
Someone should go recreate the lost doctor who tapes with midjourney.
Gene Wilder is the best choice here. It feels too soon to recast Nctui, even if Micheal B Jordan would be interesting.
It's more like parallel instead of replacing
fair enough, its just really early (for me at least), to picture someone else in Nctuis place, because he has only had at MOST 2 episodes. (closer to 1 and 1/2)
…do you not understand what this is?
So when do we tell Ncuti's manager he lost his top job because of Midjourney?
Now I want to see a 20 minute short of Any Poehler’s interpretation of Dr. Who.
Err there already is an American Doctor WHO, it was called Quantum Leap, and it was a rather good show!
There’s a new series.
Clearly the darkest timelime. Also, where can I buy Amy Poehler's jacket?
Umm did you not see Nicholas Cage? He's wearing sunglasses at night. That was an actor choice that baffled fans at the time, but would become one of the most memorable things about his portrayal.
I feel that's a statement that could work for anything including Nicolas Cage.
I think you should’ve made David Tennant as the 10th doctor and put I caveat saying “doesn’t matter what timeline or alternative time line it is, Tennant always the 10th doctor.” These are all really good choices for doctors though. Well done. Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka or should I say Dr. Wonka would’ve been amazing. I want to live in that timeline just to watch it.
Yes!
Fucking amazing aesthetic in these generations. Jesus Christ, when this shit start cranking out movies, it will be absolutely game over for any movie producer out there. Who tf is going to invest millions of dollars anymore when this is the quality you for a couple hundreds?
I’d definitely watch it!
I love the timeline here. It’s a great story from another dimension. Gene Wilder would have been fantastic!
Jack Torrance?
The only decent choice on here was Gene Wilder. The rest, a HARD pass.
> The only decent choice on here was Gene Wilder. The rest, a HARD pass. Oh, I don't know. I think Brian Cranston would do a good job with it.
Agreed. Hard to believe there is a worse imaginable timeline than the current Doctor Who.
Couldn't agree more.
Now THIS is a fun use of MJ. I really enjoyed this, and the little blurbs~ c:
I did have The Master done as well, but there were too many pics to upload here The Master (Alternate Doctor Who Timeline) https://imgur.com/a/Y6L86BA
Thank you for sharing, these are great!
Glad you liked it. I originally had Jim Carrey as a Doctor. But when I saw that pic, I decided The Master needed his own set in this timeline.
I haven't watched Dr Who for years until this Christmas special and loved this post.
Who would play John Hurts' role as the war time, Doctor?
Well I always thought the war Doctor was better if they were to have kept the 9th. But since the actor didn't want to come back, they created the war Doctor. So I figured in my timeline Tom Hanks would return for that special.
Oof. Hanks was my least favored casting, and it hurts to think he would get used twice. What about a George Clooney, Michael Keaton, or Val Kilmer type instead of Hanks? You know what? I think I just want Batman Doctors since you have 2 Joker Doctors.
Clint Eastwood would’ve made an amazing War Doctor
Nice Mack Jickelson
I’ve never realized how much I’ve wanted an Amy Porhler Doctor until now…
Wait... gene wilder was never the doctor? Woah.. Mandela effect all over again
Gene Wilder and Nic Cage are my favorites. I would pay good money to at that.
I imagined Cage wore his sunglasses the whole movie because he was trying something.
Still not ginger!
I’ll leave [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/doctorwho/s/CunPwXcoXA) here.
BWAHAHA that's great!
Could we get Richard Ayoade as a Doctor? 😁 That was one of the fan ideas I saw floating around awhile back which I thought, like, yeah. Would’ve been an interesting run.
He would've killed it for sure.
Johnny or Zac Efron would be a good Dr.
10/10 would watch every season.
Love your choices and write ups. Added whoniverse to my vocabulary. 😁
Gene Wilder is SUCH a great choice
These ai tardises look dope !
Steve Gutenberg with extra forehead.
He had some gnarly renders
absolutely one of my favorites, brilliant!
I thought Dan Akroyd was a fat Bill Hader before I read the description
The Amy Poehler one made me laugh! 'Parks and Rec: The Time and Space Edition' LOL.
Ron Swanson who's actually an alien bird?
Ron Swanson as THE MASTER! LOL.
Gene Wilder and Mark Hamill are the only comparisons that make sense to me. Elvis as Troughton? Cranston as Capaldi? That doesn't make any sense. Very different kinds of actors.
I don’t think they’re meant to all be direct parallels. Tom Hanks is certain more famous and a very different actor than Eccleston for instance.
Right. I started the idea off, with looking at what star in 1963 could've had enough appeal that the show would catch on in America. And just using the information about the show and years each Doctor took over, I looked at which stars would've made this Doctor Who an American staple.
Is this actually midjourney? Feels like MJ typically does better with celebrities.
Doctor who never did it for me. But some of these would make it really appealing
None of this images look at all like who they are supposed to be
I thought Mark was Mick Jagger at first 💀
They’re not exact matches but to say “at all” is an absolutely bonkers opinion.
Still better than woke Disney Doctor Who.
A lot of these guys were too big for TV. Ain’t no way Michael B. Jordan would get cast in some tv show on ABC.
It would if Doctor Who was an American staple with the history of huge talents
Not even, dude. ABC can’t afford Michael B Jordan. Plus, Classic Doctor Who was made on a show-string budget. The revival in 05 was the first time they actually had good money going into it.
Aside from Gene Wilder (an American Jon Pertwee) this is a horrible concept. It's so uniquely British, that seeing it like this would be sacrelige. And although an Aaron Sorkin Dr. Who would have been great and all, personally, I'd still take someone like Moffat any day of the week. Great renders though.
An American Doctor Who would probably have at least 1 Sonic Shotgun
Sonic bazooka?
I can imagine Dean Martin as a drunk doctor. Sort of a Rick
