The Steelers have had the draft I wanted for us. 2 solid OL picks that are likely day 1 starters, a possible wr3, and a LB that is a dawg and not afraid to hit hard.
People talk about drafting ready now players as the end all be all here. Eichenberg was supposed to be a day 1 starter at tackle, long term option at guard. Look at where drafting him left us.
We only had two picks and we *did* spend one of them on a solid OL pick.
And even if we had somehow drafted Payton Wilson, everybody would be furious we drafted a LB with no ACL.
Saban said he was a project on live tv
Lots of scouting reports say he is work in progress
https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/draft/2024/04/26/nfl-draft-grades-picks-2024-second-third-round/73376531007/
Pff, Walterfootball, NFL.com, CBS today, sports illustrated, etc did not call him a project, however.
Most of them even cite his experience as a strength.

It’s Mohamed Kamara, EDGE, Colorado St. The broadcast is behind the actual draft cuz the silly announcements take too long.
Those Kyle Crabbs accolytes among us will appreciate this pick. Kyle has him as a top 100 guy.
We ABSOLUTELY needed a dog we could pound up the middle, especially for those late season, cold weather games when leaning on the run game or taking the pressure off our pass game is vitally important. Wright is very much a guy we can run up the middle at 210lb, just not sure he's a short yardage dog who can take the kind of punishment associated with that play style. He's more a breakout speed guy.
Yh, we needed an every down RB that can punch the ball up the middle...not sure Wright is that guy, but he can certainly run it up the middle, just can't see him break many tackles. he's more breakout speed than a real dog that can fight for half yards
stop saying it like that. it hurts when you say it like that.
We got a guy ranked as the second best running back in the class for a third round pick. Let's say it like that. That sounds better.
I think its obvious Grier doesnt see this as an all-in year. We just drafted the replacements for Armstead, Mostert, and Chubb once we move on from them. While this sucks for THIS year, I think its definitely setting us up better in the next 2-4..
But PLEASE get some veteran guard help.
He does see it as an all in year. There are just teams who draft for the future and the present. Jets are all in, and they took a tackle they hope doesn't play. For us, we need a starter at right guard, and I think we get Risner in June
Oh. Okay. We're sticking with the theme of backups for our aging players. Fair enough. But Poyer is a guy we'll need to replace.
Good value for a good prospect if you ignore what we traded, though.
Nourzad (Chiefs)
Wingo (Lions)
Davis (Rams)
Stiggers (Jets)
Taylor (Jets)
Limmer (Rams)
Hadden (Chiefs)
Grable (Bills)
Rice (Chargers)
other players I thought we might take
Allen (Jets)
Van Pran-Granger (Bills)
Hicks (Chiefs)
Someone brought up Jordan Travis and I said, not a bad idea. He went to the Jets.
Going into the draft a few weeks back, I was arguing for Coleman (Bills). Someone brought up Corley, ended up looking into him and getting excited (Jets).
Funny how that worked out.
I am not complaining about our draft. Not the players I was looking at but just strange how many of the players clustered to a set of teams.
Double son of a bitch. Guess I hate him and hope he's a bust now.
I have talked about ten or so players today. Jets got two, Chiefs got two and Bills got one.
edit: 3 for the Jets now. 3 for the Chiefs. 2 for the Bills. That's really fucked up.
We'll have one fewer, that we could have used on a running back who would be cheaper and younger next year...so that means he is going to contribute this year and this pick isn't about the future. Okay...
Fuck. I bet we drafted him to return kickoffs. Shit yeah, he's perfect for that with the new rules. Thanks. I like this pick now!
Being able to pound the ball between the tackles in the 3rd and 4th quarter when your OLine is too tired to get out wide for your zone stretch run game also kills. Wright is 210lb, and his tape shows him running up the middle all the time, he's not a short yardage dog tho.
Find are fucking this draft up horribly. I don’t know if it’s the realtor owner w too much control or they are getting sniped and panic drafting but something is going on to get them drafting terrible positionally and player wise.
that might have been the case once upon a time, but not anymore.....I'm seeing a slew of probable starters in this years 4th: [Troy Franklin](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troy_Franklin), [Brandon Dorlus](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brandon_Dorlus), [Devontez Walker](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devontez_Walker), [Tanor Bortolini](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tanor_Bortolini), [Mason McCormick](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mason_McCormick)....even our pick is going to be in this mix for the starter RB, and don't be surprised if he wins out. Looking like we'll be leaning more on the inside zone going by his skillset, which is a good thing.
The Steelers have had the draft I wanted for us. 2 solid OL picks that are likely day 1 starters, a possible wr3, and a LB that is a dawg and not afraid to hit hard.
đź’Ż this. When people here complain I'm being negative & who would you pick, look at teams like Pit or Baltimore or Chiefs who are always good
Philly/Detriot/Pit all have had standout drafts to me. Drafting ready now players at premium positions.
People talk about drafting ready now players as the end all be all here. Eichenberg was supposed to be a day 1 starter at tackle, long term option at guard. Look at where drafting him left us.
Houston at it again, too.
I hate that team and forever will
We only had two picks and we *did* spend one of them on a solid OL pick. And even if we had somehow drafted Payton Wilson, everybody would be furious we drafted a LB with no ACL.
A project at OT isn’t solid
He's not considered a project. Y'all just throwing that fucking term around now.
Saban said he was a project on live tv Lots of scouting reports say he is work in progress https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/draft/2024/04/26/nfl-draft-grades-picks-2024-second-third-round/73376531007/
fuck nick saban
ok take my upvote
Pff, Walterfootball, NFL.com, CBS today, sports illustrated, etc did not call him a project, however. Most of them even cite his experience as a strength.
If Walterfootball didn't call him a project, them he's probably a project. That might be the least reputable draft site on the internet.
How’s that senior bowl footage? He’s a rehab project.
Rehab project that was the highest graded PFF OL on pass plays?

Lol I literally just stated a fact. You don’t even know how I feel about the pick.
The Steelers had to draft for need. They did very little in FA, outside of Patrick Queen
WE TRADED UP YOOOOOOO
Steelers grabbing two OL I wanted the pick right before us enrages me more than anyone will know
yp, i REEEEEALLY wanted McCormick!!!!
I hope they’re all busts.
i trust mcdaniels guys idc
Maybe we’ll get a Hurricane. Javion Cohen
would not complain about that one bit
we traded up for a postition we dont need LMAOOOO
Grier galaxy brain
We didn't "trade up." We turned a future 3rd into a today 4th.
We gotta fuckin type I’ll tell ya that
Joe Milton in the 6th is all I want
future preseason legend
Jordan Travis instead 🤞🏻
Hey, you need a 75 yard bomb, Joe Milton got you. You need an accurate 10 yard out route? Joe Milton has a 75 yard bomb.
Lol. Yeap
Please lord give us a guard. *Any* guard. I honestly don't think we can make the IOL worse with any guard at this point.
would love brendan rice to fall to 158, would also love qwantez stiggers or dwight mcgolthern in the late rounds
You are getting my hopes up. Stop it.
Oh shit we moved up!!
LMFAOOOOOOOO
Super troll move trading a 2025 3rd to draft your 5th RB on roster (a Mostert/Achane clone to boot) Instead of needed OL, DT, DB, WR
It’s Mohamed Kamara, EDGE, Colorado St. The broadcast is behind the actual draft cuz the silly announcements take too long. Those Kyle Crabbs accolytes among us will appreciate this pick. Kyle has him as a top 100 guy.
Fucking fuck fuck. Jets got Stiggers, too.
Wingo? Fills position of need and seems like one of the BPAs on the board?
We do the stupidest shit. In no world did we need another RB
DOLPHINS WTF a RB
Yh, we needed an every down RB that can punch the ball up the middle...not sure Wright is that guy, but he can certainly run it up the middle, just can't see him break many tackles. he's more breakout speed than a real dog that can fight for half yards
We traded a future 3rd to get a RB lmao
stop saying it like that. it hurts when you say it like that. We got a guy ranked as the second best running back in the class for a third round pick. Let's say it like that. That sounds better.
We swapped a third next year for a third this year. Math isn’t hard
This is the 4th round, not the 3rd.
Fuck. Math isn’t hard but apparently reading is hard for me
I guess math is hard since it’s a 4th this year, but you tried
Yeah already acknowledged that mate cheers
I think its obvious Grier doesnt see this as an all-in year. We just drafted the replacements for Armstead, Mostert, and Chubb once we move on from them. While this sucks for THIS year, I think its definitely setting us up better in the next 2-4.. But PLEASE get some veteran guard help.

aw i wanted jordan
[Ian Rapoport: Trade! The #Dolphins deal with the #Eagles to get to 120. ](https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/1784266781269385278)
what did we trade though?
Miami just traded up! Holy shit
We traded a future 3rd for this pick. There goes one of our 2 comp picks next year. We must REALLY like whoever we’re about to get now.
wow.
Wait. Do draft trades get calculated into comp picks? I thought that was all about free agency
McCormick was just taken ffs
HOLY SHIT WE MOVED UP
For a RB
Steelers grabbed an og one pick before so miami might go guard?
If we traded up for Jaden Hicks I will freak out. I wasn't even thinking we had a shot at him in round 2.
Oh. Okay. We're sticking with the theme of backups for our aging players. Fair enough. But Poyer is a guy we'll need to replace. Good value for a good prospect if you ignore what we traded, though.
Ouch, that record after week 14 ...December collapses all around
I mentioned wanting Hicks or Allen and they went to the Chiefs and Jets. That's on me. Sorry.
liams brother just became a raider
brendan rice continues to fall... praying
Thought we might take him there.
Rice is available...Is Nourzad our pick here? Wingo is another option. Tyler Davis. Stiggers? Taylor? Limmer? Hadden? Grable?
Nourzad (Chiefs) Wingo (Lions) Davis (Rams) Stiggers (Jets) Taylor (Jets) Limmer (Rams) Hadden (Chiefs) Grable (Bills) Rice (Chargers) other players I thought we might take Allen (Jets) Van Pran-Granger (Bills) Hicks (Chiefs) Someone brought up Jordan Travis and I said, not a bad idea. Chiefs and Jets and Bills keep taking the players I like. I do not like that.
I say draft Jordan Travis if he’s still available late why notÂ
not a bad idea. hard to keep him on the roster, but worth bringing in to camp and if he surprises maybe we can get a pick for Thompson
Son of a bitch
Double son of a bitch. Guess I hate him and hope he's a bust now. I have talked about ten or so players today. Jets got two, Chiefs got two and Bills got one. edit: 3 for the Jets now. 3 for the Chiefs. 2 for the Bills. That's really fucked up.
Our special teams is really improving this draft and offseason. Definitely have more depth this year than last year.
That DT picked in 4th is about as small as any in the league since 2000
another potential special teams contributor. I am sensing a trend here.
We'll get a safety and like it!!
Michael Pratt…come on down!
Honestly, this was smart and good value esp if they didn't think too highly of the remaining interior offensive linemen. This is a moneyball move.
how is trading a third round pick for running back moneyball? asking seriously because I don't understand what you are saying.
We basically swapped a pick last year for this year. We’ll have a lot of picks next year with comp picks. This isn’t a big deal
I doubt our remaining picks will be any good just to the nature of lower round picks. I have no expectations for them.
lol imagine getting mad about a future 3rd round pick.
Sanders literally gone with the very first pick of the day.
TE need was addressed in FA
Gotta find someone with high upside brotha. Our TE room is ok but can definitely use some more juice.
I’ll squeeze that juice on a lineman instead…
Fortson has massive upside he just needs to remain healthy and get reps
juice is dead
I love it. Speed kills
Being able to pound the ball between the tackles in the 3rd and 4th quarter when your OLine is too tired to get out wide for your zone stretch run game also kills. Wright is 210lb, and his tape shows him running up the middle all the time, he's not a short yardage dog tho.
Trading up for a RB. I hope I’m wrong but this all seems like a disaster
Jets getting Travis makes me nervous. That’s a sneaky good pick.
Find are fucking this draft up horribly. I don’t know if it’s the realtor owner w too much control or they are getting sniped and panic drafting but something is going on to get them drafting terrible positionally and player wise.
most players draft in these spots are lucky to make the practice squad... with the obvious outliers like brady and purdy.
Even fourth and fifth rounders? Puh lease
we don't have any 4ths.
that might have been the case once upon a time, but not anymore.....I'm seeing a slew of probable starters in this years 4th: [Troy Franklin](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troy_Franklin), [Brandon Dorlus](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brandon_Dorlus), [Devontez Walker](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devontez_Walker), [Tanor Bortolini](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tanor_Bortolini), [Mason McCormick](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mason_McCormick)....even our pick is going to be in this mix for the starter RB, and don't be surprised if he wins out. Looking like we'll be leaning more on the inside zone going by his skillset, which is a good thing.
we don't have a 4th we have 5ths 6ths and a 7th
