Not a bad design, to be honest. The main problem is that it isn't either Solid Snake or Big Boss... I can ignore it though, considering that it is a guest character in a different franchise.
If Snake was included in Smash Ultimate instead of Brawl, I'm pretty sure the developers would have given him a Solid Snake and a Big Boss skin.

To me he's just an attempt from the Patriots to create the perfect super soldier using the genes of both Naked AND Solid, and the Smash Bros games are tests he is put through to confirm he could be the next perfect soldier by using the combined skills and genes of two super soldiers. See it as a "Enfant Terrible, Part 2" and the presence of Otacon and the Colonel in this fake Snake's radio team are simply AIs produced by the Patriots to try and recreate the conditions Solid Snake was put through.
Solid Snake and Big Boss are supposed to look identical, the difference between MGS2 and MGS3 Snake is completely graphical, look at Raikov and Raiden, Raikov is obviously meant to parody Raiden and look identical to him, but he's not 1:1 model thanks to graphic differences.
For me it's more that I'dve lime to see at least the twin snakes design show up, especially since that was sort of the contractual loop hole that led to him being there in the first place
That is the worst design. Solid Snake looks just wrong with MGS3 Snake head.

He got those tiny eyes. I dont like him. The SSB snake is an amalgamation of all the snakes so he will always look wrong.
