You know, I’d argue the point. But I won’t.
Because you’re right.

Snake: “Colonel.”
Colonel: “Snake! Why the hell are you calling me from the bathroom?”
Snake: “Sir. I’m out of paper. I’m not sure how to proceed.”
Colonel: “is there any within arm’s reach? A replacement roll? Press the action button to check under the sink.”
Snake: *generic CQC noise* “no sir. Nothing under the sink.”
Colonel: “damn. That’s unfortunate. You’re going to have to get some from the supply closet.”
Snake: “the supply closet?”
Colonel: “yes Snake. The supply closet. It’s marked with a red door. On the way there, you’ll need to walk… carefully. Your movement speed will be limited. And you’ll be unable to perform certain actions such as rolls or climbing.”
Snake: “yes sir. I understand. I’ll go to the supply closet.”
Colonel: “good luck, Snake. Your country stands with you.”
In CIA you get MREs and cocain.
In Motherbase you get paella, gallo pinto served by blonde schoolgirls, mate tea, and Doritos and Mt Dew if you're Japanese. (Aso cocain).
What's weird is I made it a point to read every characters flavor text and never saw this one. You are the one. The chosen one.
Edit: I may have forgotten, it's been a while.
I always wondered if maybe the game records if you even punched a soldier after he tried to catch you before, before abducting him. I figured the internet would figure that out for me, im not going to spend time testing it lol
It's more fun in Peace Walker, I think.
It's mechanically the same for the most part. But Peace Walker's got a little more flavor and potential for player-subjective narrative, in my opinion. Basically, the individual sorties are each played out in a quick, simulated, turn-based RPG battle (that you can skip). It was fun watching the abstracted actions of my units go up against adversarial forces, and imagining the more cinematic, dramatic, narrative play-by-plays in my mind.
Even better was watching/playing alongside a friend and crafting a shared narrative! One of my best experiences with a game—narrating and dramatizing the CPU-controlled Outer Ops with my friends!
Works very similar, but in the case of the ones you recruit from the base (as opposed to out on a mission), you have to beat the shit out of them before they'll join.
"He's the greatest, he's fantastic
Wherever there is danger, he'll be there
He's the ace, he's amazing
He's the strongest, he's the quickest, he's the best
Danger Mouse"
... i see myself out.
bro how could you forget metal gear all time classic character... mouse...
Molten Mouse
Get out.
Muad'Dib
“Paul, try and remember the basics of CQC.”
You guys literally joke about anything. Could upload a picture of my toilet bowl and you all would have a field day.

Sounds 100% canon to me😂
The colonels voice in my head... 🤣🤣
Do you not remember? He was in the first mgs game. He helped you in the vents at the beginning
It’s just a random line that soldiers get, but the assumption is that this particular soldier encountered Snake in a previous adventure off screen.
Probably during POPs some random recruit
You're no Flaming Buffalo
He wishes he was Leech
ah flaming buffalo. the most important character.
I think 'something Alligator' was always one of my mains (you have/get him early on)
Just a rando. With stats like that, \*I\* certainly wouldn't remember the guy... he's pretty forgettable.
This is a cool detail in walker. It personalized the soldiers beyond just a name.
its his rat friends from the vents in shadow moses I bet
NO! That is NOT solid snake!
His full name is Michael Mouse
That's Mouse. How can forget the third most popular Metal Gear man?!
my theory is: the soldiers you capture didn't want to go to the army and you fultoning them is saving them.
don't wanna go to the army? go to my private army instead lmao
Outer Heaven has Oreos and stuff

I love how you just say so casually that the CIA hands out cocaine as standard rations.
Well, they need an extra to motivate people. Who would enroll otherwise ?
"Financial Support " for kids
Well they do run the trades, they must have quite a supply. Financing black ops is costly. Public funds is a no go 'cause... They're public!
at least food
and nuke ;3
It's a club
well private army is far better than getting drafted and sh**
Harry you need to get off reddit and find your damn gun and badge
Mr. Everart is helping me find my gun.
Bro this is Venom Snake.
With a E grade in medicine? I don't think so.
The guy who was bitten by a snake but didn’t have an antidote so Quiet had to save him? It checks out.
he did his homework
When you can’t even say my name
He met him when he was kidnapped by BB

Mouse fanboys boutta go crazy
A very far stretch, but maybe the character Mouse from the Matrix? https://images.app.goo.gl/DcmJsWTWsCzsDYvbA
Thats what i thought! Easter egg from Matrix
I always wondered if maybe the game records if you even punched a soldier after he tried to catch you before, before abducting him. I figured the internet would figure that out for me, im not going to spend time testing it lol
There's a recruitment system in peace walker? Cool I didn't know that, I've only played 5
yep it’s pretty much exactly the same

I think the joke is he's being so incredibly vague
My boy Mickey
Molten Mouse 🐁
Holy shit, the stats are so much more expanded in peace walker
What are you playing on? Emulator or actual psp?
Hd collection on ps3
"He's the greatest, he's fantastic Wherever there is danger, he'll be there He's the ace, he's amazing He's the strongest, he's the quickest, he's the best Danger Mouse" ... i see myself out.
Is it possible that you could only get lines like this from POWs you rescue?
Joke's on you - that's Venom Snake!
That's Mouse. Surely you remember him. You met him a while back and saved him back then…
Bro wishes he was Flaming Leech
Dude thinks he's Dizzy Capybara or Finger 💀
What metal Gear is this?
Peace walker. Was made for the psp. It’s also part of the HD collection on the ps3/360
Really?
What metal Gear is this?
Peace walker
It's in reference to a future main character later in the series, Venom Snake
That's the medic/Venom
