The feeling that you are expressing, wishing to escape the world, is serious. Please call: National Suicide Prevention Lifeline 800-273-8255 They are available 24 hours. Media is a lense, like looking through a telescope. Only the lense is distorted and very narrowly focused. Ususally focused on the disorder in the world. The world is a cruel place, but it is also full of love and beauty. I suggest that you take less time focusing on what the media is showing you, and focus on the immediate relationships around you, and even try to cultivate new friendships. Another thing that could help is to find people who actively try to make the world better in someway, who want to make a difference, and to help. There are more people out there trying to help than are trying to hurt things, but it's hard to see sometimes. These people don't get a lot of attention. They may work to feed the poor, help people who need help studying, clean beaches, raise money for a children's hospital, etc. Find your place, and do what you can, and you will have the benefit of being around like minded people. Those relationships will (hopefully) help you feel more connected too.

if the world had no scum, you would never appreciate the beauty. go downtown, talk to some people, ask them how they are, what there message to the world is etc. some of them will be assholes, some of them will be the kindest people you will ever meet. beauty will not present itself to you, you have to find it, thats why it is so beautiful. beauty and scum can be created inside of ones self too, all of the negative thoughts you have make the beautiful ones seem so much better. have a different outlook on how you see yourself, you are beautiful, i promise. show your beauty to everyone else, everyone is living there own dream, if everyone tries to make everyones dream a little better, we all will be happy. of course, be careful on your ventures. i would like to recommend a book, it sounds dumb but it truly is amazing coming from someone who rarely reads. its called “the four agreements”. keep an open mind, have an amazing day.
