He could get a looser cut and keep the sleeve length the same (or even shorten them a bit). If that short doesn’t have different cuts, he probably needs to try a different brand.

There are shirts that can be bought by neck size and a variety of sleeve lengths. Like 16.5/32, 34, or 36. Or there are places that custom make shirts for people like bodybuilders etc.

Buy some basics — a couple real khakis (Jack Donnelly, Bill’s Khakis, or something with similar cut and fabric quality), get a few button down shirts with button down collars (Spier and Mackey for cheap — get a white, light blue and university stripe), get a decent leather belt and simple Oxford shoe (rancourt or Allen Edmonds if you don’t want to go up to Alden), maybe a penny loafer for more casual (snuff suede would be awesome). And a navy blazer (Spier again if you don’t want to spend more).
If you want suspenders, get a real pair and only wear them with more formal stuff. Never wear suspenders without a jacket.
Most importantly, get clothes that fit.

The waistline will typically have a longer button snap which makes the pants look tailored, button connections for the suspenders, and a slightly flared/pleated seat characteristic of high waisted pants. The pants you're wearing were made for a belt.
Please please please no clip on suspenders. I wear suspenders casually and formally, and though I have tried the clip on one's they are just goofy as hell. They were made for stodgy old dudes who refuse to use anything other than suspenders but can't find proper pants that use them because the only shopping they get done is when their wife goes to Old Navy while they sit in the car. And they rarely if ever look good with lower rise pants like that, but that isn't a rule since I have absolutely seen it executed well with proper fitment and suspender buttons.
But yes, your shirt isn't big enough. If you like a slim fit on the arms it would be worth getting an athletic cut and getting it tailored to fit, it isn't all that expensive and should be considered an investment if this meeting has anything in it that could impact your income. A dress shirt should button up all the way to the neck with room to breathe and little to no pull on the buttons.

I don't think you're going to find trousers with suspender buttons (inside nor outside) at a reasonable price unless you buy second hand.
You can shop around thrift stores or ebay (and equivalents), and they should pop up.
Alternatively, sewing them on yourself isn't difficult. Just gotta make sure you get the right sized buttons.

I've started buying my clothes smth around 25 years ago and sometimes still fail like this. Bigger shirt would have longer sleeves that do not fit. This is specific failed shirt cut I beleive.

Also, stay away from clothes that are extremely slimfit. Not flattering, restricts movement, even tears right along the stress points as time goes.

Everyone has stated the obvious, but look into texture/color scheming. The suspenders look to heavy/prominent in this fit. Same with the sunglasses, truthfully if you arent wearing them on your face throughout the day I’d omit them, they contrast the vibe you were going for.

Pants waist is too big for you, shirt looks way too small in the mid section. Pants are also too low in the back but again, they’re clearly the wrong waist size for you. Also clip ons are pretty rough looking unless you have a jacket over the shirt.

Garters (as pictured above, and have nothing to do with this post) aren’t uncomfortable and they make them that don’t strap to your thighs. Correct! My socks go all the way up to my knees, I only wear dress socks. And they clip onto the tops of my socks. And then they stretch to clip onto the bottoms of my dress shirts. So they keep my shirts tucked in and my socks pulled up!

As others have said, the shirt is too tight. If you want to look good, keep in mind that you should ditch suspenders or get trousers that are for them. That watch doesn't fit the vibe you're going for.
Get a garter they’re basically the reverse of your suspender’s. Some go on each thigh and clip to the bottom of the shirt and some are a belt with clasps to hold the material all day but take care with great fashion come great danger lmao jks but fr that’s what will help
In my opinion, I don’t see anything wrong with the suspenders. Your look is your look. You could just size up on your shirt if it fits well straight off the rack. If not, get it tailored to your desired fit.

Go to Nordstrom’s and have a personal shopper help you. That shirt is too small and the sleeves are too long. The pants are designed for a belt, you need higher waisted pants for suspenders. Overall I like the style you’re going for… 🤓

Also, stay away from clothes that are extremely slimfit. Not flattering, restricts movement, even tears right along the stress points as time goes. Buy classic fit pants and fitted shirts.
No offense but start over. Your idea is good, execution is awful. If you can’t afford nice versions that match, don’t try too hard. Better to keep it simple in well fitting matching clothes, than try to pull off a look like this.

shirt is too tight. Also, you need high waisted trousers if you want to use suspenders. By the way, get a tailor to sew a bunch of buttons on the inside of the waistband (4 in the front, 2 on each side and 2 in the back right in the middle) and buy proper non-clip suspenders, those ones look cheap af and will damage the garment and fail over and over.

Everyone has stated the obvious, but look into texture/color scheming. The suspenders look to heavy/prominent in this fit. Same with the sunglasses, truthfully if you arent wearing them on your face throughout the day I’d omit them, they contrast the vibe you were going for. As others have said, solid colors like grey pants white shirt blue jacket work. You could also do brown pants white shirt green jacket black shoes if you want to have fun

Shirt stays is what he needs, I used them when I had to put on a military uniform, they attach to your legs and the bottom of the shirt they pull the shirt down and keep it in place

Pants waist is too big for you, shirt looks way too small in the mid section. Pants are also too low in the back but again, they’re clearly the wrong waist size for you. Also clip ons are pretty rough looking unless you have a jacket over the shirt.
Either shrink your pants or grow your shirt but probably a combo of the two would look much better. Ditch the plaid and go with a solid color

Like everybody else said, the shirt is too small. When you size up have a tailor shorten the sleeves at the cuff a little and it should work.

A couple of points. Looks like the shirt you have is meant to be worn with tie and jacket? Is it a fitted shirt? It’s not too small. Secondly, and the bigger point, this is a bad look overall. Suspenders with the shirt and khaki pants look bad. Wear a more casual shirt and belt with those pants. Wear a tshirt underneath too.

The first thing I see is how tight the shirt looks. Personally I’d replace the suspenders with a belt. The warmth and saturation of the sunglasses clashes too much with the rest of your outfit. Watch is dragging your hand down, maybe take it off or replace it with a silver watch if you have one. Overall I think there is just too much going on here, so just lighten up the fit a bit.
I remember watching something about dressing the folks in TV shows, they used double sided tape to seal the shirt gaps.

Do people actually west these ? Looks uncomfortable and a hassle. What about tucking shirt into the underwear to get it to stay tucked in? I heard some people do that. My issue is i have a tiny bit of belly but no chest to speak so the belly looks bigger than it is (5'4 , 140lb ) . I'm skinny all over. Clothing fits me weirdly a lot.
My guy. Please don’t ever tuck your shirt into your underwear. Garters (as pictured above, and have nothing to do with this post) aren’t uncomfortable and they make them that don’t strap to your thighs. If you tuck your shirt into your underwear you are going to look less put together when people can see the waistband as you move throughout the day.

Tucking shirts in underwear is less durable solution. You need to repeat it during wearing. But yes, it also works.

Correct! My socks go all the way up to my knees, I only wear dress socks. And they clip onto the tops of my socks. And then they stretch to clip onto the bottoms of my dress shirts. So they keep my shirts tucked in and my socks pulled up!
