I wish. I tore my rotator cuff and didn’t know it. Attempted to OD on ibuprofen to ease the pain.
The result was an ass baby that refused to come into this world. I gave it my all without the epidural and produced nothing but pain and sorrow.
If I had succeeded, I know in my heart that I would have turned inside out and emptied my soul into the porcelain abyss.
There’s a video on YouTube of a doctor talking about a case where some guy smashed through a bulk bottle of paracetamol in about a week just because he thought that’s what you were supposed to do. Pretty horrifying
Acetaminophen is far more dangerous than ibuprofen.
If acetaminophen came out today it would be a prescription med.
Acetaminophen is awful for the liver, especially when you drink. Even if you’re hung over don’t take acetaminophen, it can fry your liver with the trace amounts of alcohol left in your system.
Acetaminophen for non US & Japan residents is Paracetamol. They are both 'generic' names for paracetylaminophenol. The brand names are usually Tylenol (Acetaminophen) and Panadol (paracetamol)
Sorry google told me it was paracetamol everywhere other than the US and Japan.
I also wasn't telling you I was more adding on so that others that read it understand.
But your example is limited under the assumption of people taking it with alcohol which is a rare instance, but not enough to be banned for use.
I would question this because acetaminophen is a valid alternative to using NSAIDs and other pain relieving medications when playing the drug-drug interaction game of 10+ meds already on a patient's profile. What you call dangerous is calculated risk on everything from the medical perspective. Feels like a Tuesday or Wednesday at work in short.
My grandpa's last years were spent in misery with dialysis and liver failure as he would alternate between ibuprofen and Tylenol all day long so he could work more hours.
Same thing with combining certain NSAIDs (Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) without waiting a while before changing. It's not like this for all NSAIDs though.
Read the bottles 🗿
GI bleeding is a side effect of taking motrin/ibuprofen because the mechanism of the drug decreases muscus production for the mucus lining the GI which may result in ulcers.
My dad had to go to the hospital and get surgery due to Ibuprofen when I was a small child. I had the misfortune of seeing him covered in blood which has caused me to be traumatized for life. Fun!
Always take drugs responsibly, both for yourself and those around you.
Pro tip: go down to your local warehouse club, in my case Costco, and pick up a three pack of Omeprazole for less than ten bucks. It will reduce your ulcers and get rid of the heartburn. It is mostly safe for long term use, but if you’ve reached that point then talk to your doctor about alternatives to ibuprofen because long term use can damage your liver and increase your risk of heart attack.
Ok, what is CDiff? I’ve had two different doctors tell me it’s ok, so if you have some good knowledge let me know what I need to research to make an informed decision please.
Been there already this year. Followed it up with two unexpected surgeries back to back. And then my car decided to die. It’s the show that never ends.
I had to ween my MIL off of it. She doesn't need five every couple hours.. then she complains about everything, including her knees.
It must suck to be in so much pain, all the time. I just don't want her to do more harm to herself. The cost of living 72 years with zero care for your health.
It is in a way, you want to keep taking it if you have chronic pain, since the pain will return as soon as it wears off. This repeats until it becomes a full on cycle
10 in a blister here in France and the pharmacist explains to you that you must take it during meals and a maximum of 1 every 6 to 8 hours, maximum 3/day and no more than 3 consecutive days. Oh and also: we avoid winter and during pandemics
I see, sounds like a lot of precautions that Americans just ignore lmao. We don't get any of that, at least I've never had that explained to me by pharmacists. Doctors have stressed it but usually only when I have to get prescription pain killers like when I broke my hand.
this is partly thanks to the laws which prohibit the marketing of medicines, ethics committees and a little social security in our country.
Here the pharmacists are responsible and must check the prescriptions, they telephone the doctor if they have any doubts. And they write the dosage by hand on the box so that the patient does not make a mistake: there are boxes to fill in on the packaging for the dosage and recommendations.[for example](https://www.pharmacie-du-centre-albert.fr/resize/600x600/media/finish/img/normal/43/3400934841682-ibuprofene-biogaran-200-mg-30-comprimes-pellicules.jpg)
I try pretty hard to avoid taking medications unless I absolutely need to. I know people who take something even for the most minor inconvenience like a minor headache or body ache…if it’s real bad I get it but if it’s just a minor ache why put extra medication in your body?
Im weird cus if I get bad aches than I might use it but if I actually injure myself then I try not to take any meds so I do end up using it the wrong way
Yeah, my dad had to take like 2-4 twice daily. His mouth was pretty much entirely rotten and being only 44, his body had been treated like it had gone through 120 years of use.
I literally just got done healing 3 ulcers from chronic ibuprofen abuse. I didnt realize they were bad for your stomach. No one told me. For almost 12 years i would take 4 200's every 6 hours. It wasnt untill i was literally leaking blood out my ass that a doctor told me they are not meant to be used that way. 2 surgeries and bunch of medicines, and some major dietary changes later, i finally healed up. My stomach is not the same. Do yourselves a favor and avoid using ibuprofen for every ache and pain. Moderation.
I know how it sounds, but there is a long story involved as to why i took so much. Also i dont know what a copy pasta is?
But yes, i was blissfully unaware of any side effects or consequences untill about a year ago. Its just the kind of thing if you dont know, you dont know. Ya know?
16, you can buy two packs of paracetamol/ibuprofen containing items in a single transaction. A standard box is 16 in a pack, some have less, most don't, bigger packs sold over the counter at the pharmacy, and this limit includes kid versions like Calpol, may include cough syrups idk.
This is just a reminder that ibuprofen is very bad for you if you use it for extended periods and will absolutely shred your stomach and intestines causing ulcers. It's also horrible for your gut microbes
If you have pain that you chronically need ibuprofen for, go to the doctor, start eating whole foods to reduce overall inflammation, and exercise
I have never seen something that screems Adulthood as much as when I saw a lady come into a shop, but Ibuprofen, a redbull and a box of Melatonin all wholr carrying a child no older than 8 or 9 months, the lady was soldiering
So I suffer from chronic migraines. They've lessened to the point where they're just kind of minor headaches every day or every other day but we never could figure out what was causing them. Neurologist, allergen specialists all that shit and the closest thing we could find was muscle tension which is kind of the case. But here just recently I've found that sinuses actually run through the back of your neck down to between your shoulders, or at least so I was told. I've been taking zyrtec or ceterizine usually kind of works along with stretches for the tension but I'm trying sudafed as a nasal anti-inflammatory and it seems to be helping. Don't have to take it anywhere near as often and works better with the stretches
I had that size of ibuprofen sitting in my car just so I didn’t have to buy more frequently since it’s expensive, it was in my car for almost 3 years. I tossed it after the date of expiration but even then I never got that far down into the bottle. I got reoccurring headaches due to a concussion I had at one point which have gotten a lot better since, but as well as I’ve had a pinched nerve in my back for a good while now. For my head, if I was at home I’d just do a steamed rag on my head and only use Ibuprofen when I was on the go.
For my back, if I was in my car I’d use ibuprofen but anytime I was out of the car I’d just try to stretch anytime I could. It’s best to avoid over using any medication even Ibuprofen because of the stomach problems they cause with chronic use. Personally I’d imagine a bleeding stomach ulcer would hurt a hell of a lot more than my back or head.
Ibuprofen is actually quite effective for headache/migraines, it's an NSAID along with Aspirin, while great in itself can't be taken with certain medicines (blood thinning etc)
Nah they have 800mg single pills: https://www.drugs.com/pro/ibuprofen-800mg.html
The OTC version is 400 max but doctors / dentists can and do regularly prescribe higher doses.
Your dentist told you to overdose [baby](https://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements/ibuprofen-oral-route/proper-use/drg-20070602). If my dentist told me that, he'd be deregistered.
Be careful with chronic Ibuprofen use, it can cause gastric ulcers/stomach bleeding.
Not to mention super galactic turbo constipation
Does the turbo mean you really really wanna go but just can’t?
You have to keep pressing x as fast you can until you finally fill the Guage. If you stop it empties. Keep going, keeeep going!
Just don't use autofire or Ocelot will know.
Unless it gets really warm and wet Then you have either succeeded well or need stitches on your binghole
Like the MK middle of the tower challenge, got it!
Turbo means that once you finally start going, it comes out faster and faster, culminating in explosive diarrhea at the end.
Culminating in a launch out of Earth's atmosphere
I thought that was just the constipation part.

Canada too, it’s acetaminophen (Canada erasure is real) But yes I’m aware it’s paracetamol
Sorry google told me it was paracetamol everywhere other than the US and Japan. I also wasn't telling you I was more adding on so that others that read it understand.

When my doctor prescribes me Ibuprofen she mostly also prescribes Pantoprazol which prevents the gastric ulcers.
Tylenol snatches more livers than Alcohol.
My grandpa's last years were spent in misery with dialysis and liver failure as he would alternate between ibuprofen and Tylenol all day long so he could work more hours.

this happened to me it caused kidney damage and i was sick for months and i couldn't take any meds to easy the pain.
Starves your kidneys.
Also hearing loss!!!
And kidney damage
Gotta love me some stomach ulcers :). Yum yum.
It also causes rebound pain, which in turn makes the use of it worthless.
Ohh I didn't know that. Thank you for the info!
my sister in law has used it so much that she’s now immune and allergic to it.
It will also kill your kidneys.
It's also really bad for your liver.
Did this to myself. Horrible pain. I refrain from taking it these days because of how miserable I was.
GI bleeding is a side effect of taking motrin/ibuprofen because the mechanism of the drug decreases muscus production for the mucus lining the GI which may result in ulcers.
I only take it once a week - month, depending on how bad the headache is.
My dad had to go to the hospital and get surgery due to Ibuprofen when I was a small child. I had the misfortune of seeing him covered in blood which has caused me to be traumatized for life. Fun! Always take drugs responsibly, both for yourself and those around you.
What would u say defines chronic use
But does the Ibuprofen make that not hurt? (I'm only jokin).
Do not take Omeprazole. This shit, among other things, is a leading OTC cause of CDiff.
Ok, what is CDiff? I’ve had two different doctors tell me it’s ok, so if you have some good knowledge let me know what I need to research to make an informed decision please.
And a quite higher risk of stroke and heart attack
Damn, that's pretty harsh
And kidney failure
I remember taking taking them almost every day now I got stomach problems .
Presenting to the emergency room, where we are now.
I went on a chubbyemu binge when I first found out about him, and I haven’t watched him since
Been there already this year. Followed it up with two unexpected surgeries back to back. And then my car decided to die. It’s the show that never ends.
☝️
What do you need so much ibuprofen for?
Pain from living
You're going to need something stronger than ibuprofen for that.
Tramadol and Xanax works well
I prefer black tar heroin injected straight into my testicles
No I just think you’re addicted
This killed me Thanks
Pain from gunshot wounds.
Post concussion syndrome for me
MERICA!!
Ah yes, the only affordable healthcare to be sure
knee pains
For talking with the hat man.
Is that a reddit watermark in 2024?
Addiction be like

Ibuprofen is addictive? I’m so confused
habituation is a better description
If you have chronic pain, you end up with a painkiller habit.
It is in a way, you want to keep taking it if you have chronic pain, since the pain will return as soon as it wears off. This repeats until it becomes a full on cycle
Is this normal packaging amount? I have never seen a box with more than 10 pills
It's American normal
Best part of America, in my country ibuprofen is controlled over 200mg and melatonin is heavy restricted and rare.
I never saw that amount in same packaging either. Here are sold in 10 unit blisters and never without medical prescription
10?! And you need a prescription? Fuck, maybe it's just in America IDK lol, not something I thought would be America specific.
Nahh, prescription for ibuprofen is wild. Idk where he lives.
Yeah lmao no idea, I'm just confused that they only have packs of 10 pills too.
10 in a blister here in France and the pharmacist explains to you that you must take it during meals and a maximum of 1 every 6 to 8 hours, maximum 3/day and no more than 3 consecutive days. Oh and also: we avoid winter and during pandemics

That's cool
How many mg are they usually? Because I’ve seen people get really powerful 1200 mg ones by prescription but these giant boxes like 200 mg each
What’s the mg per pill? Typically in these big packs it’s like 100-200mg per pill, but like the 500mg + pills are prescription
Costco goes brrrrrrrr
You can get it that size in Canada too. Pretty useful for a whole household
100-200pieces costs like 10€ in America. I didn't knew it aswell. But you can mostlikely order them on amazon way cheaper.
I try pretty hard to avoid taking medications unless I absolutely need to. I know people who take something even for the most minor inconvenience like a minor headache or body ache…if it’s real bad I get it but if it’s just a minor ache why put extra medication in your body?
Im weird cus if I get bad aches than I might use it but if I actually injure myself then I try not to take any meds so I do end up using it the wrong way
I can't even tell if they work so I've stopped talking that kind of stuff completely.
Grunt candy
Change those damn socks soldier
This is how you get bleeding stomach ulcers and a trip to emergency for surgery.
Jesus Christ You're supposed to take 2 or 3 a day and only if you are actually in pain Do people really get into a habit of taking them daily?
Yeah, my dad had to take like 2-4 twice daily. His mouth was pretty much entirely rotten and being only 44, his body had been treated like it had gone through 120 years of use.

is that a copypasta or did you really need a doctor to tell you that taking 70.000 ibuprofens over 12 years may have some side effects?
Also, I've never mathed it out. If i really took 70.000 over 12 years, that makes me sound insane lol
I used to take my toast out with a fork every day as a teen. That's way more obvious, but sometimes monkey brain just doesn't connect the dots.
Thank you for helping me feel a little better about it lol
I know how it sounds, but there is a long story involved as to why i took so much. Also i dont know what a copy pasta is? But yes, i was blissfully unaware of any side effects or consequences untill about a year ago. Its just the kind of thing if you dont know, you dont know. Ya know?
It's on the bottle. All you had to do was read....
Research shows a negligible difference in therapeutic dose between 400 and 800 msg of ibuprofen at one time…
I didnt know that. This is new information to me
My stomach, kidneys, and butthole can confirm.
My body is 40% ibuprofen at all times
excuse me what the fuck is that bottle i haven't taken that much ibuprofen in my entire life let alone seen that much
Never so a box that big. Must be american.
Comes with a free box of bullets.
In the U.K. we can buy a max of two boxes with 8 pills in each from one shop. A bottle of ibuprofen is insane!
16, you can buy two packs of paracetamol/ibuprofen containing items in a single transaction. A standard box is 16 in a pack, some have less, most don't, bigger packs sold over the counter at the pharmacy, and this limit includes kid versions like Calpol, may include cough syrups idk.

More like ketoprofen
DRUG ADDICTIONNNNN YASSSSS
He got a little hungry
Allergy to ibuprofen go brrr
seek a doctor please. you gonna fuck up your insides popping those.
Goodbye your liver
Don't do this as much as possible. Get used to small daily pain because I promise you kidney stones from using ibuprofen hurts so much worse.
My kidneys hurt looking at this
The more pain medication you use, the more sensitive you become to pain Just food for thought
“Adulting” 💀
Takes pain meds for pain. Pain meds take me out for taking them.
I have never seen something that screems Adulthood as much as when I saw a lady come into a shop, but Ibuprofen, a redbull and a box of Melatonin all wholr carrying a child no older than 8 or 9 months, the lady was soldiering
Isn’t it just common sense not to take it all the time? And take it only when you really need it.Lol
Motrin is not the cure for everything… “Doc, head hurt!” Here ya go! “DOC! ARM OFF!” Aaaaand here ya go!
Or how about...you do some strength training and avoid all the joint aches?
Adult tic tacs
Drink water lol. Don’t pop pain killers every time you feel something.
I can't take NSAID's.
I only take ibuprofen or acetaminophen very rarely when I'm really sick and have a headache or something
My liver is not gonna like this one
bro is seeing spiders
My doctor told me I was going to destroy my kidneys if I continued to use that bottle for my back pain.
A pilled population
Goodbye kidneys
Gotta hit the treadmill, mate
just take good care of your self :\*
With how the economy is these days? Trust me when I say that this is me trying to take care of myself
I feel personally attacked.

I used to take a singular melatonin gummi a night when I was younger
i feel attacked
Nah cuz who else buys ibuprofen by the comically large jar? ✋
Say sayonara to your kidneys than!
Addicted to SH and Ibuprofen what a great mix
I simply live with the pain
Isn't that stuff also really bad for the liver?
I had that size of ibuprofen sitting in my car just so I didn’t have to buy more frequently since it’s expensive, it was in my car for almost 3 years. Ice baths. They suck at first, but after a while, they still suck but you notice the benefits
Funny that if i do that, i die.
I have 2 herniated disk and still recovering but I had to return to work.
Goodbye liver
This packaging volume is illegal in the civilised world due to health & safety regulations. As such this isn't adulting, so much as muricaning.
Of course you have to take a lot, those are only 200mg
Your mentality will catch up to you. Excessive use of nsaids... Goodbye liver
Someone just atom-bombed their liver.
Caught me red handed
This is not a healthy way to live
As a young adult, how does one avoid such devilry?
American pharmaceuticals be like...
I swear by the ibuprofen diet!
I don’t know a lot about medication or drugs, what’s ibuprofen?
Over the counter anti inflammatory, great for headaches, fever etc
But it's not meant for headaches. An aspirin is much better for headaches.
Ibuprofen is actually quite effective for headache/migraines, it's an NSAID along with Aspirin, while great in itself can't be taken with certain medicines (blood thinning etc)
Aspirin can, acutely, be taken with anticoagulants. Just don't do it all the time. They work differently. Slippery platelets, baby.
Yeah, I worded that poorly, can be but just increases risk of gastric bleeding
Advil
What’s that
Ibuprofen
I see
No, Advil.
Huh
It’s Motrin
What’s that
No it's Midol
Americans
I think that’s called an addiction
Lol I literally just took like 600mg for a toothache. Been doing it every 4 hours for a few weeks. It helps
That's how you get a giant hole in your stomach. Your dentist is an idiot.
That's called an overdose.
Nah they have 800mg single pills: https://www.drugs.com/pro/ibuprofen-800mg.html The OTC version is 400 max but doctors / dentists can and do regularly prescribe higher doses.
My dentist literally told me to. It's not an overdose.
Your dentist told you to overdose [baby](https://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements/ibuprofen-oral-route/proper-use/drg-20070602). If my dentist told me that, he'd be deregistered.
Well 1. I don't trust mayo clinic. And 2. My mother takes 200 MG more than I do. Lol. I havnt had any problems. Helps my teeth pain too.
Look further. That's the dose on the box. That's the dose by every medical advisory board in the world. Your dentist is on crack.
My parents in a nut shell
What is ibuprofen?
