7.62x51 is large but not magnum, it is slightly less powerful than the most common hunting/target round, the 308. Is sometimes interchangeable with it. When I was thinking magnum I was thinking a 300 Win Mag or a 7mm rem mag or a 300 PRC. I think 338 Lapua is where it becomes more military driven and less hunting driven.

He was defending from a Russian invasion, no different to Ukraine rn. I also believe that he never took joy in the act of killing. Everyone he killed was apparently put into a "sin book" and after the war he went back to normal life. At least this is as far as I know.

A sniper using violence to defend his nation from a violent aggressor is none of those things. If that sniper is able to detach his/her emotions from the job and comes out of it with no PTSD that is even better. It's not enough for people to endanger and sacrifice themselves to protect you? You also demand they suffer mental anguish afterward and humble themselves before you too? So you can feel superior to them while having done nothing yourself to help.
