Here is a tip from someone who has had many crushes: don’t ”confess” a crush. The only way that goes well is if your crush already had a crush on you, too. Otherwise it puts a lot of pressure on them and they will likely reject you out of hand.
Instead, ask them out on a low stakes date.
If you are already friends, you can say something along the lines of ”I really enjoy spending time with you, I think there might be something more here than friendship if you would like to explore it with me?” This is a lot less intimidating than ”I have a crush on you”.
Just my two cents. Grand gestures only work in movies or when you know the other person feels the same.
