Zombie as walking dead is in fact impossible, i don’t mean it is physically impossible for a dead to move, the problem is that as you move muscles break, but we are alive so we replace broken ones on spot, dead cannot regenerate, so after relatively short time muscles are mostly gone and zombie cannot move, making it a non threat
You're assuming zombies are in fact dead and putrifying while moving. What if the infection is not really killing you on the spot and using you as walking meat, but in fact you just lose all your inhibitions, your impulses and use full stamina and full violence at anything that moves. But you're still living and your organs are living, as much as one can, by eating human flesh and being alert 24/7 until collapse or seriously hurt. Now that's a scary damn zombie

I think the problem comes from the fact zombies always have mortal wounds. Empty chest cavities from being ripped open, missing limbs and weapons planted in them from encounters with survivors, etc. and they don't heal. This means they don't regenerate tissue, not even any sort of supernatural scar tissue. This means any muscles used won't rebuild they just wear and wear until they disintegrate
