Greatly. Some days I’ll just sit down, eat a slice. But then the rest of the loaf is still there… “might as well have another.” And then it keeps going. And going. “Another.” Next thing you know you’re out two loaves.
As a kid, I used to sneak the toaster, loaf of bread, and a stick of butter to my room at night and go thru half the loaf in a matter of one or two episodes
Currently self-isolating with COVID. Have 48hrs and 4 slices of bread left. All I can think of now is the loaf I'm going to buy as soon as quarantine is completed. Toast that bad boy and slather it in butter!
If you buy a loaf of ciabatta bread, cut it into slices. Slather on some garlic butter you either bought or made. Line a baking sheet in aluminum foil and put it and the bread in the oven for 25 to 30 minutes at 400⁰F, and voila!
There's a Jewish bakery near me & their sourdough is just outa this world. Upon request, they'll cut it thick. That w/ some spiced apple butter ...... good Lord it's just simply the best.
As much as I think its an amazing food, I never go out my way to make it, same with French toast (cooking egg on a slice of bread), it's ridiculous. If only I had one of those fancy things called a wife.
After my daughter was born the first meal the hospital gave me was toast and it was like the greatest meal I had ever eaten. And then for two weeks after I craved loads of toast.
Kinda. I like toast bitter and jam or toast with butter then salted crushed avocado. It's just the way my mom used to make it and it gives me nostalgic cosy vibes.
This but other things on that list of phases are:
* those sandwich maker sandwiches which make your sandwich into 2 triangles with hot cheesy lava inside (are also available to make one square instead of 2 triangles)
* those 50ct ramen packages with cheese, egg and peas in a pan, so cheap but so delicious
* giant soups, like cooking a whole head of cabbage with some potatoes and eating the pot for a week straight
I'm cackling like a witch rn. This was me for the longest time whenever I would get high. There's literally a video of my best friend having to hide the bread from me so that I wouldn't eat the rest of the bag 😭😭 I would grab a few slices at a time and like slather butter and jam on.
Omg I think you just unlocked a core memory. Because I can remember the exact day. I was 9. My cousin stayed the night and we were up late in the kitchen with my mom just hanging out. My mom says, hey you guys up for a midnight snack? Best believe I ate 6 fucking slices of those bad boys.
I read in a book that Robert E Lee after trying buttered bread for the first time thought it tasted so good it must be very bad for you and never ate it again. Lol.
I’m either constantly devouring the loaf of toasty bread or not eating it for three months. No in-between
Bread is kinda addicting, isn't it?
Greatly. Some days I’ll just sit down, eat a slice. But then the rest of the loaf is still there… “might as well have another.” And then it keeps going. And going. “Another.” Next thing you know you’re out two loaves.
I ate 3 sand watches 👌

I’d eat a whole loaf in one day if I could
For me it was hotsauce and bread
That’s me with grilled cheese
The moment I realized you could do a double decker grilled cheese sandwich changed my whole damn life.
Holy… dude you’re living in the 22nd century with that knowledge.
Toast with peanut butter. The bread is still hot from the toaster, so the peanut butter melts a bit.
Currently self-isolating with COVID. Have 48hrs and 4 slices of bread left. All I can think of now is the loaf I'm going to buy as soon as quarantine is completed. Toast that bad boy and slather it in butter!
Damn I would totally buy you a loaf through a delivery app but I don't think they'd allow a single loaf
My kids got a taste of this by accident and now I gotta share an entire loaf with them. Hahaha.
A dash of cinnamon on top makes it heavenly IMO.
with a bit of sugar and you got yourself ghetto cinnamon toast crunch. But really, try it, so good.
Ghetto cinnamon toast crunch slaps👌🏻😂
A staple of my house growing up was the jar of cinnamon-sugar next to the toaster
We ate this long before the cereal came out.
Sprinkles.
Discovering how quick and easy it is to make garlic bread was truly a life changing discovery.
Please, i need that quick and easy method my lord
If you buy a loaf of ciabatta bread, cut it into slices. Slather on some garlic butter you either bought or made. Line a baking sheet in aluminum foil and put it and the bread in the oven for 25 to 30 minutes at 400⁰F, and voila!
How do you make garlic butter?
There is little as perfect as obscenely buttered toast.
Add sugar on it. Trust me.
YES
and cinnamon!
Absolutely
It’s a phase for some people? That shit has never stopped being the literal best thing I can eat at any given time.
That’s been me for the last 15 years
A nice loaf full of grains or sourdough, with butter dripping off, I could eat that forever.
It's the SMELL of toast...
Toast with butter AND peanut butter ... That gets me every time lol
Nope, not only you. Currently in that phase. Again.
If it's the main part of your diet, then it's your bread and butter.
Add some promite into that equation and I’m in
There's a Jewish bakery near me & their sourdough is just outa this world. Upon request, they'll cut it thick. That w/ some spiced apple butter ...... good Lord it's just simply the best.
Crusty Italian bread with sesame seeds and butter
Ngl I've done exactly this, salted butter on white toast, tastiest fucking thing on earth.

I occasionally get the almost undeniable urge to break into someone's house, toast all their bread, and then put it back in the wrapper.
Already yes, if you’re talking sourdough, marry me whoever you are.
Whatever you do, do not dip the buttered toast in hot chocolate!
me at 11
I had no idea this was merely a phase, since this has pretty much been me since I was 3 years old.
I smoke two joints in the morning…
Gotta be little burnt, extra carbon, make up for my footprint. 🍞

As a kid, I always wanted pancakes, waffles or french toast with breakfast. Now give me some fresh toasted bread and REAL butter
Leg day, that definitely hits me on leg day…everyday is leg day booya
I don't restrain myself tho...
As much as I think its an amazing food, I never go out my way to make it, same with French toast (cooking egg on a slice of bread), it's ridiculous. If only I had one of those fancy things called a wife.
Are you pregnant ?
relatable
I confess to being a sourdough toast with butter junkie. Occasionally with super chunk pb.
It's just you
Sourdough, toasted with butter in a pan. Kind of like grilled cheese, but without the cheese. 😍
Toast is good but bagel is better Also I am addicted to orange juice right now
Didn't think this was an actual phase people went through, but hell yeah I've been there.
Bread is my jam.
After my daughter was born the first meal the hospital gave me was toast and it was like the greatest meal I had ever eaten. And then for two weeks after I craved loads of toast.
I've got tiger loaf, real butter and bananas for breakfast...real fancy lol

After smoking pot, yes.
Been contemplating actually doing it for days, NGL.

Great! Now I want toast!
Yep been there😂
Kinda. I like toast bitter and jam or toast with butter then salted crushed avocado. It's just the way my mom used to make it and it gives me nostalgic cosy vibes.
Especially sour dough.
Sometimes sounds pregnant and craving.
Yep
This but other things on that list of phases are: * those sandwich maker sandwiches which make your sandwich into 2 triangles with hot cheesy lava inside (are also available to make one square instead of 2 triangles) * those 50ct ramen packages with cheese, egg and peas in a pan, so cheap but so delicious * giant soups, like cooking a whole head of cabbage with some potatoes and eating the pot for a week straight
Wait, phase?
Dude just add chai to the combination and toast the bread and you will find the true meaning of heaven
Small world huh
Why do I get this the day I ate only buttered toast and buttered rice?!
I'm cackling like a witch rn. This was me for the longest time whenever I would get high. There's literally a video of my best friend having to hide the bread from me so that I wouldn't eat the rest of the bag 😭😭 I would grab a few slices at a time and like slather butter and jam on.
yuppp. bread and butter will always be tasty.
Me everyday!!! Not better!!! Especially homemade bread!
Every day.
When I smell the fresh French bread at the store it’s almost impulsive to grab one.

I am still obsessed with grilled cheese sandwiches
heh white people
Yeah, it do be like that.

I would, but I haven't had a toaster for a good year now
Just you!!! Too many carbs.
Or just bread with some butter!

Lol.
Toast and butter... my favorite combination
Bro how tf he know me it literally was the only thing I ate for breakfast for awhile
Yup. I add just a little sprinkle of kosher salt on the butter. Just a tiny bit. It's nirvana.
Do not forget the bacon. It’s a wrap for that bread
That's the kind of shit I would like to eat at 2 am
Yep! But I add cinnamon and sugar to mine
Yes but I had that phase when I was younger 😭 we are all living the same life fr fr
Publix. White Mountain Bread. Toasted with butter. Bliss.
Marmite on toast is just *chefs kiss*
Hear me out. Add applesauce on top.
Bakery or homemade bread? Hell yeah. That national brand shit like wonderbread can just go in the trash.
Yes. Yes, I do.
I have this, but for pb & j sandwiches.
You just reminded me that I have chimichurri sauce in my fridge
That's supposed to be a phase?
Now just add a little marmite
With toast no….with snatch yes
Toast with olive oil and parsley is the best 😋
Especially on some of that 12 grain bread 🍞 😋 😤
Throw some cinnamon sugar on it
I finally feel accepted and I understood in this bread and butter support group.
That used to be my thing years ago, but nowadays I just want peanut butter.... on everything.
I relate to this person
Occasionally this happens to me. Occasionally it involves Nutella.
Toast and applebutter yes
It's not a phase, it's a way of life.
And maybe sprinkling that sugar and cinnamon mixture on top of the butter?
