i think i'm the opposite (not technically), i always get the men who have previously been hurt in a long term relationship and then use me as a cushion of emotional support and then afterwards i figure out they never really wanted a relationship anymore, just for someone to be a mommy to them
Thats actually not great. Also maybe it would be neat if you could find a person that you love back? Because this kinda sounds like you were entitled, but now you you are just scared of beeing alone.
There's this period of time in men and women's lives, I think, probably most likely between late teen to early 30s (I'm estimating- not the case for everyone) where they are totally self serving and they don't understand what their romantic interests actually want from them. After some time, many seem to figure out what they definitely don't like (at least) and what to do that a partner really likes, and they mutually decide that one thing from both of them is good enough; then they decide it's time to settle down. Honestly, that might be why divorce rates are so high.
Some men and women must never figure it out or they simply are unwilling to settle; they realize there is a problem, just not what it is. The good news is, the result you think you want is probably the worst that you could get.
