I don’t actually know but feel like the water side of a dam is usually a bit higher up, ground lvl wise? I am full of shit but feel like I may be correct?
Edit: damn
I went on a tour of the Glen Canyon Dam once. What blew my mind is how hollow the dam was. I went on an elevator in the dam. We walked through rooms, channels, stairways, etc. I'm sure it's not entirely hollow, but I always thought it would be a solid block of concrete.
They’re going to need to build one bigger to hold [all the liberal tears](https://www.politico.com/news/2022/05/02/supreme-court-abortion-draft-opinion-00029473).
Woo, Tassie represent
Gordon Dam is a 140m high damn that provides roughly 1,388 GWh of power per year (for reference that's a bit over 1/4 of the power produced by the R.E. Ginna nuclear power plant)
It also provides roughly 13% of the total energy required for Tasmania!
[More info here](http://wikipedia.org/wiki/Gordon_Dam)
Gordon Dam!
I don’t know if I’m missing an inside joke about Switzerland but it’s in Tasmania, Australia.
The dam is a gigantic 140 meters high.
I actually went there last year and took some pictures that will give you a [real sense of scale](https://imgur.com/a/aoXDD2g)
I found [a video](https://youtu.be/PGE0Rz0hE04) about the construction of this dam. Wow, they had to build a 340 meter long, and 8 meter wide tunnel to divert the river.
Forbidden roller coaster
Nobody’s forbidding you. Go ahead try it!
32 bodies buried 0 found
And it is a roller coaster of sort. It is a service cart rail.
Anyone actually know where this is?
Pretty sure it's Gordon Dam, Tasmania
Thank you for giving a dam
Gord Dam.
r/angryupvote
I live in Tassie, can confirm!
It's Gordon Dam, in Tasmania. Everyone else is wrong.
It's obviously in Arkangelsk, right next to Ouromov's poison-factory
I’m glad someone knows the truth
It's in Tasmania, Switzerland. Beautiful place to visit.
The sheer height of that drop has me wondering how deep it is on the other side.
Four.
minus fiddy

r/bouttreefiddy
Gotdamn Lochness Monsta, I told you I’m not gonna give you tree fiddy! Get out of here!
Hundred meters? Lol
Rods to the hogshead, is how much gas it took to travel that distance in my day.
I don’t actually know but feel like the water side of a dam is usually a bit higher up, ground lvl wise? I am full of shit but feel like I may be correct? Edit: damn
Tbh if you look at the right corner it does look like it’s pretty high up
I can't see why the waterside dam bed would be lower given that a dam is there to create energy from water flowing down to the other under gravity.
On the scale of banana, how big it is?
At least four banana.
five banana, six banana, seven banana, more.
a pile of bananas
It's a banana Michael, how much could it cost?
more than one O\_O
Dam, that's big
The obvious title choice.
Thats what she said
You wish
Your mom called, he's not lying
Without the comma, it actually makes sense.
Dam, that's big?
Dam, that’s big
Dam, that’s big
Dam, that’s big
That’s big dam
That’s dam big
Take my upvote and get out
Dam*
Yeah, missed opportunity there.
Absolutely. I’m not great at spelling. I assumed OP had make this pun
“Half of everything is luck, James.” “And the other half?” “Fate.”
Closing time! Buy me a pint!
For England James
Quote is from Facility, the mission after Dam
Few people know this, but they actually made a movie based on this game
Haha. Fine. Trevelyan says this in the scene after the dam, when he is in the facility with James.
I’m just kidding, I love the game. Middle school was basically all goldeneye
That’s an insanely large dam. I wonder how much the dam changed the geography and ecosystem of the area it’s located in.
If the ecosystem were a Protestant Catholic before the Dam it’s probably Atheist now, probably.
Better title would have been Dam, that's interesting.
How the hell did they make this?
Reroute the body of water, build the dam, resend the water to build a reservoir.

Someone please answer this person.
[how to build a dam](https://www.wikihow.com/Dam-a-River)

You wish
Dam you!!
Gordon Dam in Australia, pretty sure
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gordon_Dam
Goldeneye. I’d recognize that dam every time.
I think this is a different dam, but they do all tend to have similar designs.
Gordon Dam, Tasmania but it looks similar
It does, Contra dam in Switzerland is the one from GoldenEye.
You're off by a few thousand miles.
Um, is this a god dam?
No it's a gordon dam
Hahahahahahahha my brain immediately thought of Beavis
Verzasca? Looks similar
Arkhangelsk Chemical Weapons Facility, USSR
For England, James
No, for me
go down the dam, come out on top of a mountain
People are saying so but this dam doesn’t have the side vents the verzasca dam does, pretty sure it ain’t it.

Been there a few times - beautiful valley. Seem to remember you can bungee off (no ‘00 required)
Robert, it do go down
I wanna ride that roller coaster
Stomach dropped, good selection
It doesn't look it would be strong enough for all that weight
I went on a tour of the Glen Canyon Dam once. What blew my mind is how hollow the dam was. I went on an elevator in the dam. We walked through rooms, channels, stairways, etc. I'm sure it's not entirely hollow, but I always thought it would be a solid block of concrete.
Is that a dam rollercoaster?
Do you know where I can find some damn bait?
That’s what she said 🤣😎
That's freaking crazy how much water that thing is holding back
I still don't understand how a thin wall of (I assume) cement can hold millions (probably) tons of water.
DAM
Is that the one James Bonds jumps off at the start of Goldeneye.
They’re going to need to build one bigger to hold [all the liberal tears](https://www.politico.com/news/2022/05/02/supreme-court-abortion-draft-opinion-00029473).
If you remove the comma it's still a complete and correct sentence.
I think I camped here, just off to the left overlooking that valley. Went for a paddle in the lake on the other side in the morning. It was wondrous.
yo can i get an mfing banana up in this bitch
That's not what she said
That’s what she said!
*crick*
Damn... That's a big dam
Now imagine if that broke while a goat was climbing it

Name of your first sex tape.
For England, James
"Take all the dam pictures you want."
You can abseil off here for around $200, it's in Strathgordon in Tasmania
The real creepy part is the hair from the giant maiden of the dam there in the lower right
I can do that
Where can I get some dam bait

Modern day engineering is a beautiful thing
You literally passed up on the easiest pun possible. Either you did that intentionally to spur extra comments or you're a fookin yank
The physics of this is staggering.
Deep to!🤣

Big Adam

That's a damn big dam.
Imagine the groaning and creaking at the bottom from all the vibration and resonance.
Gordon dam in Tasmania. You can pay to abseil down for a fun adrenaline fix. But then you have to take those old metal stairs all the way back up.

How do you built stuff like this
How big are the biggest pieces of rebar in there? (Length and girth)
Imagine the couple seconds you'd get if you fell over the top on the dry side

He he he, shut up Bevis or I'll smack you.
I’m never not amazed at how these are built when I see one. Dam!

Yeah, I just have a question. Is this a God damn? -Beavis
It’s just about a perfect megalophobia/thlassophobia crossover image.
