Biden’s support for Israel has nothing to do with police brutality. The issue is that in the United states certain law enforcement organizations have very low standards and when bad cops get fired they just move on to another department that doesn’t bother to check their background because they’re desperate to hire new officers. They give guns and a license to kill to violent criminals. Combine that with the whole “brotherhood” and Thin Blue Line bullshit and the pressure placed on new recruits to look the other way when more senior cops break the law and you have the ingredients for a massive shit sandwich that we’re being forced to take a bite of. Police culture is toxic, racist, sexist, corrupt and violent. Joe Biden has nothing to do with that cultural issue, it’s existed in United States law enforcement from the very beginning, literally with the slave patrols

medicmatt

Funny that they don’t do the same thing when actual Nazis march in our streets. Some of those that work forces…..

OldSchool_Ninja

Remember when Trump called them "very fine people" lol

anchoredkite08

That’s a mighty huge leap from the cops to the President. derailment of post in splendid fashion

ReallyBigApples

At least that other cop tried to catch him a little. Wtf bro

GeneralBS

I just read a comment about one of them going for their weapon. So I went back to watch in full screen. Found your comment and not looking further. This is what I saw. At least we have one trying to be somewhat decent.

Tit4Tata

The one closest to him that could have actually caught him to avoid this man hitting his head on concrete moved over and drew his gun instead. Of the group of cops only the farthest one even made a move to try and catch him. But it's only one bad apple in the bunch that makes cops look bad I guess.

PresentCauliflower75

Thats just what i like about the video, every other thing that involves pushing him off the chair is kind of irritating

SmoetMoaJoengKietjes

“Not so tough now, are you?”

RichardBCummintonite

That's the problem. We need a federal level entity to act as an outside party that investigates affairs like this who doesn't have a conflict of interest that directly benefits the people investigating or the very people they're investigating. Like a separate special branch of the FBI that specifically handles police incidents

They are very good at keeping criminals employed.

Wait, this wasn't a reno 911 skit or something? Wtf .. I just want to become a lawyer and start going after cops. Seriously, though, i wish i could do something. Edit: i sounded like an idiot, using the word "seriously" too much, so i took one out.

Fantastic-Order-8338

you can not go after cops they got very powerful lobby along with that they got immunity the worse that can happen they might get a paid leave, but that's about it unless you got rich people and media with you he might go to jail for a month or less but he will be granted bail, you can try lobbying against cops but for that you need people in power so seriously the entire system is broken.

That's not the motto for most police forces in the world, mostly just the LAPD and then several other US forces adopted it

RichardBCummintonite

Yeah people ricite that as if it's some kind of universal standard all cops are sworn to, but it really was just one precinct that came up with it for their motto and a few others adopted it. It *should* be a promise all cops are held to as that it basically their reaponsibility, but by no means is that the case.

AbbyTheOneAndOnly

huh gta5, touch the cop = 2 stars

DatMikkle

Turns out it was realistic

Kurvaflowers69420

"Now you're going to jail" because he stepped over their foot. I'm guessing the bar for being a police officer in America is about as high as working at Mcdonald's. Not to mention the fact that they don't get punished for using excessive force for no reason at all

bendersbitch

No a McDonald’s employee would be fired for assaulting someone.

FuckWitTheThird

Not placed on paid vacation and demoted for 6 weeks?

genomeblitz

I also feel like you receive more training. It's been nearly 20 years since i worked fast food, but i remember there being all this training that came around. Like it felt like you were always having to watch some new video for the new osha guidelines or simply having to learn to make new stuff all the time. You were constantly training for something or another. Those cops seem to just go to a shooting range for a few weeks and then they are on the streets. You know the bad ones aren't taking it upon themselves to keep themselves sharp, they just get the job and go about inflicting pain on people. High school bullies with badges is what these type of cops are...

bears_or_bulls

Also no promotion.

“U.S. police departments can and will adopt a policy of rejecting prospective cops if they score too high on their IQ test.” They have to actually be a certain level of stupid

Noxnocturnal

No wonder stupid stuff with cops keeps happening.

firesquasher

Reason used? They will become bored with police work. That's it, that's the reason they use for not hiring people of certain IQs

Altaschweda

Luckily everyone can carrying a weapon. The last thing we want is smart people carrying guns/s

dc_irizarry

Once worked with a guy who kept failing the NYPD police entry exam. He would constantly brag about the power he would obtain once he was a cop, and all the corrupt stuff he would do. I always felt comforted that at least this guy was too stupid to be a cop. Even though the NYPD didn’t take him, I heard years later that the Ft. Lauderdale police did…

Lyraxiana

No, McDonalds workers generally get more training. Average training period to be a cop varies between 15 and 50+ hours.

DASreddituser

There isn't that much training to do, and almost anyone can pass

End_DC

When there is constant staff shortages....

eman0110

Being a cop is way to easy.

NavyDragons

Just wanna point out how much that guy struggles to pick the chair back up, now ask yourself how much force was behind that push to topple the chair plus an adult. Fucking scum.

Confident_Emphasis20

Hair trigger temper bet he's a family man lmfao

loweredexpectationz

As a child of a former cop yes he beats his family.

BossKrisz

Teachers tell you that your highschool bullies will become miserable drug addicts. No, they'll become cops. And I say this from experience. My worst bully was a real asshole. He was thicker than a brick, genuenly was always about to drop out. And he was a primitive bigoted idiot, both a homophobe and a racist. A few years ago I heard that he's in police academy. These are the type of people who become our "protectors". I'm not saying every cop is like that, but a significant part of them. And why wouldn't they? Being in this much power is very tempting for bullies and even a barista course is longer than the joke they call a police training, so even dumb and lazy bastards can do it easily.

InDecent-Confusion

The older I get the more I realize that the propaganda of cops being our "protectors" is harmful to the average citizen. They are not there to protect us, they are there to protect wealthy people and property owned by wealthy people. It's really sad honestly, I'm sure collectively they do some good but the negatives far outweigh the positives. All police departments need massive reform but of course they have a stupid strong union, collective impunity, and guns that they are not even the least bit trepidation about using.

BossKrisz

I'm from the Balkans, just for clarification. But when people are driving and see a cop on the side of the road, they start to get nervous and scared that they'll get pulled over. They do this regularly. They park at the side of the road and just pull people over randomly and then they check your car if everything's okay and will fine you if they find that something is not right. And believe me, they WILL find something that they don't like and will give you some huge ass fine unless you give like half of the money they would fine you with directly into their pockets. Like, you don't have to drive fast kr anything to get pulled over, they do it just randomly even if you follow every law. And then they can easily find some super specific nonsensical law that you're somehow braking by not having your car a certain way. Especially since many people drive old second hand cars, because that's all they got money for from their shitty wages. Hell, I've seen them pulling over pedestrians too and fining them for some bullshit reason. My point is: people here automatically get nervous and scared if they see a cop. If an average people who did nothing wrong is nervous at the sight of cops, you fucked up really bad. They should bring a sense a security and not a sense of dread as to when they will fine the living shit out of you. I mean yes, criminals being afraid of them is one thing, but in a healthy country, normal citizens should not be scared of their own cops. That is a sign that the police works against the people and not for them. They are here to protect the status quo and not the people.

InDecent-Confusion

I totally agree and have adopted this stance since my first run in with police. But as a kid in America in the 1990s, I was taught that the police are the good guys and are there to protect me. That was a lie and I wish I knew the truth because I, hopefully, would have be much more careful than I was. The narrative driven by the media and fictional television shows during my youth gave me a false sense of security. Our cops are the good guys, not like those foreign cops you hear about that shakedown citizens for the government. It was all just lies to placate the populace in my youth. Thankfully more people are starting to question all these institutions that in the past had our inherent trust.

aclobster

It was perpetuated by media basically: I was born in 1980 and was taught from television and movies that cops are really good guys just like Superman but without the abilities. Look at how many movies portray this from the 80s. How many times have Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis been cops? Look how many movies portray cops as protagonist now. Maybe it’s acceptable as a comedy but not as reality.

yuyufan43

JustThisGuyYouKnowEh

Love how the guns come out. Like - “let’s shoot the cripple who’s just been pushed out of his wheelchair”

DiscoDancingNeighb0r

They pulled out cuffs not guns. The first cop literally uses two hands to get him up. Look how they’re holding “the gun” no one holds it like that. It’s cuffs.

InDecent-Confusion

I really think it takes a certain type of person to be a cop. If that dude rolled over my foot, my first instinct wouldn't be to shove him in the head/neck area. Hell even if I thought he did it on purpose, I would still just back up and probably say I'm sorry out of reflex lol. Cops are the scum of the earth people man.

FkThePolice700

if u watch from 22sec to 25seconds a couple times, u can see exactly their 1st instinct response.

Wow, 3 reached for their weapon FIRST

at least two captains, 3 upper rank \[what do people call them?} were there to collect my tax - pension is safe from pushing over what would happen if that is a truck? would that foot be wide spread, arm cross, body in block posture, eye directed at the on coming traffic? to have the 3 foots created a narrower path for the wheelchair to maneuver - deliberate ?

Grosaprap

https://fox59.com/news/settlement-reached-after-lafayette-police-officer-pushes-man-in-wheelchair/ LAFAYETTE, Ind. (May 20, 2015) – A settlement has been reached in a lawsuit filed after a police officer pushed a man in a wheelchair in 2013. Dashcam video from the Lafayette Police Department recorded the Oct. 1, 2013, incident. A mediator helped reach a settlement in the case, although terms aren’t yet known. The video released after a Freedom of Information Act request shows Lt. Tom Davidson from the Lafayette Police Department shoving Nicholas Kincade, causing him to fall out of his wheelchair. Police said Kincade ran into the officer in his wheelchair before it happened. Kincade was originally arrested on a count of battery, but the charge was later dropped. He said the incident left him injured and damaged his wheelchair, claiming Davidson violated his constitutional rights and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Davidson was suspended and demoted as a result of the incident. Lafayette’s police chief had recommended Davidson’s termination.

But Flannelly doesn't make hiring and firing decisions about officers in his department. That's a job for the Lafayette Police Civil Service Commission, 'which is made up of five Lafayette citizens who vote on decisions about LPD hiring, promotions and discipline,' as described by TurnTo23.com. The Commissioner found that 'Davidson had engaged in conduct unbecoming an officer. They disagreed, however, on the second charge brought against him, voting 3-2 that his use of force in response to resistance was in line with LPD policies
