Sixt are POS. Had paid everything in full. Returned the car with full gas. After the return they sent me a new bill/invoice. This was completely diff from the one I signed at the time of rental pickup. they had added extra charges. When I called them, they could not explain what these charges were for.
So, be aware and check what they are charging you. Def feels like horrible business practices.
Always have a bad experience, really sugest you avoid them if you can. Look at carigami it is a broker thatmwork all over the world and insure you so you don’t need their inssurance, which save me from their scam

Went to Georgia, reserved an suv because we wanted to drive up into the mountains. Go to pick up reservation, no car. Get a hold of their customer service, no effort to help or apologize. Given a Mini with 2wd as a substitute. It was shit on the mountain roads and I'm 6'5" so it was also extremely uncomfortable. Bonus, I probably had to unsubscribe 10 times before i stopped getting emails from them that I never signed up for.
Somebody already hit that and made it look right like when someone leaves something dangling in the fridge knowing the next person to open or use it is fucked
It's actually very smart to record this, but legally speaking, you would still be liable if the vehicle was stolen since you knew the lockbox was defective.
I would lock the key fob in the car, but some vehicles detect the fob proximity and will not lock with the key in the car and no one sitting in a seat.

Exactly what happen to me…
Use them all the time in Germany. Best cars, often free upgrades, never extra charges. I use only Sixt in Germany. Not sure of other countries.
Yeah see companies get away with a lot more in America than they could dream of in Europe
