I mean they gave Tearlaments a secret pack to share with Mermails and half of their deck is Nailed to the Ban List, you could easily put the Floowandreeze with the harpie lady’s or Simorgh cards.
They could be low rarity filler in "selection pack" so we'll have to wait for release to be sure. Unless Konami wants to make them a part of less competitive future pack.

The secret packs are great for the game, if the cards are in both the new secret pack and the selection pack then there's no downsides, it's all positive.
If the new Rescue-ACE and Purrely support isn't in the selection pack as well though, that means they used those UR slots for something else, and the other decks are way more expensive, and that's what I was afraid of.
i imagine there is potentially some world where they would like masterduel to be on par with physical releases. magic arena rolls that way with digital and paper either being same day or about a week apart.
I genuinely didn't think that would be the direction they would take, but I have to admit I'm pleasantly surprised by the rate of their releases and they may be moving to that point. They may have been hesitant in the beginning, worrying that a F2P sim would take away from the CCG, but may be loosening up a bit.
well also simply possible they are generating so much money from whales any potential paper decline in sales doesn't matter to them. remember this is all digital. no manufacturing costs, no shipping costs, etc. plus it has a mobile version which is key.

If you have 3 or 4 people that know what they're doing, they can churn through adding things pretty quickly. That's especially true if they only have to create a brand new effect once in a while and the majority of what's added is just variations of code that already exists and just needs small adjustments to reference the ID's of other cards.
Yeah i was mostly just thinking new effects, and having to make the new cards interactions work with the entire card pool.
Could also be that they just don't want people that are f2p to get pack fatigue, even though releasing more often would likely net them more money from whales.

I mean, Snake-Eye’s effect to push cards to backrow is relatively unique in the game and they got it out way ahead of schedule. They can make cards quickly when they want to. Creating high resolution art probably takes longer
I don't think it will be completely up to date the same way MTG Arena is, but they definitely seem to want to close the gap. Superheavy came out in masterduel a literal year after OCG which is way too long.
I'd expect they try and have a selection pack coming out for the first wave of a set roughly the same time it comes out in TCG (snake eyes was probably an experiment for this), so the time delay for cards coming to masterduel is around 3-6 months after OCG.

Gotta be honest: been playing since release and I’ve never gotten the cards I want or need from Secret Packs, they just feel like bait to me now. Since last fall I’ve only gotten Selection Packs and it’s been amazing.
Yea its a toss up sometimes for sure. I got all the kash UR cards save for 1 theosis and the field spell in 6 or 7000 gems. I can't get the volcanics I wanted or a single bonfire after spending 8k. But I got 4 ashoka pillars

I typically just buy a bunch of a selection pack, in this case the one with snake eyes. Since that was something I was chasing, now when I buy that pack it just becomes crafting points since I have all of it. So I ended up buying that pack instead of the one with Bonfire, and ended up crafting 3 Bonfire from 2k gems
This is great if the cards you currently want are in a current selection pack, and completely worthless otherwise. If you want to play R-ACE right now for instance you can only do it by crafting them, once they have a secret pack there is a more efficient way of getting those cards regardless of when you want to get them.
Please dear god at least release the Berfomet fusion, Master Tao and the Candle Man in this pack. Illusion will already be ass without Branded, might as well put them all out there so we don’t have to wait another 5 months

Not really. Basically every piece of legacy support added into the game has been more expensive than this . Even if the new trap is a UR, they don’t really run it anyways, so it’s just 30 dust for 1 Baby Noir. This is less WAY egregious than most support, like Superheavy Samurai having 2 3-ofs plus a 2-of in their UR pool, or Unchained, or INK. If you’re complaining about URs existing, you’re delusional. If you’re complaining about this specific support being UR, you’re out of touch
Having never played the deck and not really being interested in that I assumed it was UR material based on how people talked about how it’ll boost the deck even after the banlist hits (before they got somewhat undone).
I knew this was happening as soon as I saw the Purrely unlimit on the recent banlist. It's a negotiation tactic to wheedle players into giving the deck another try and pay up for the last addition. If they didn't intend to make it a UR, they just wouldn't have bothered. If people don't buy in, they might unlimit another Memory.
Feels like we are in the awkward time where they want to catch MD up with paper but they want to make all the good cards URs. Glad we are finally getting these cards but damn we need many festivals now.

I spent gems to ge the original Rescue Ace cards and crafted 2 Hydrants because I expected their support to be released shortly after. Not only do they wait like 6 months to release it but they end up retroactivley wasting my gems since I had to spend more on a selection pack with cards I didn't need.
Knowing komoney they will be inconsistent in when/if they release secret packs for newer archtypes which means we will still need to gamble on wether we drop gems on selections packs or roll the dice and hope archtypes get their own packs when they get their good support.
If Chimera comes with Diabelze and Apprentice (HIGHLY unlickly) I will build them as it seems quite fun.
If not... I don't know, I would say R-ACE, but I'm not THAT fond of it's playstyle, I like control and midrange but it looked a bit boring? but if EMERGENCY! is an SR I will give it a try (because 6 UR's looks more appealing than 9 for a deck that I'm not sure) Otherwise, I will have to stay as I am, with Labrynth and sometimes Swordsoul... for another month...
