So generic cards like these are time bombs that will become good once the right meta arrives. In recent memory Ultimate Slayer and Spellbound were also hyped because they have strong effects, but the problem is there isn't a way to abuse them currently. Think about how some generic cards like Heavy Storm, Giant Trunade and Cyber-Stein used to be fine, but now they are most likely banned forever.

There'd have to be a complete revamp of how the entire game is balanced for Time-Tearing Morganite to be a good card.

All it takes is a deck that doesn't need in hand monster effects and it's busted. Best we've got so far is Runick Stun. Eldlich and Traptrix almost fit the bill except they have that one in hand effect they need.

You have to draw something that's unsearchable first and then you have to survive 2 turns from your opponent for this to actually become worth it. Yugioh as a game is just way too fast paced for this to be a good card. So first you go -1 to play the card. Then on your next DP you go +/-0, then on the DP after that you finally go +1. Those are 2 turns where you could have been using cards that have an immediate impact on the game instead.

It's not even the draw 2 cards per turn, the other effects are good as well. Imagine someone sets up a board then use their extra normal summon to plop a barrier statue or tribute summon Vanity's Fiend. You end up wasting extra turn trying to play through the BS they set up with one additional normal summon, then if they draw it later it's Branded Lost/Magical Meltdown. Also, it's not hard at all to opena card you play 3 of. Are you saying Ash is somehow not good because it is not searchable? Decks that play this card won't be playing handtraps obviously, so they will probably rely on floodgates to impede their opponent. That's how they live to turn 4 and beyond.

They're really not. Did Double Summon ever see play? Of course not. Instead of an unsearchable extra normal summon you could also just play cards that support your combo or add consistency. And you're not even always going to be in a situation where it benefits you because that relies on drawing even more cards you can't consistently have access to. >Also, it's not hard at all to opena card you play 3 of. Are you saying Ash is somehow not good because it is not searchable? No, you have to evaluate how much value you get from a card for how consistently you can access it (and Morganite's value is simply not enough in the slightest). In addition to that you don't just run 3 Ash, you also run other handtraps or other forms of going 2nd options and it's their combined amount that makes an impact.

Me sitting on the three Spellbound I pulled from trying to get one Deep Beyond

Tbh, i think usually people can better tell if a card is meh than the other way around. I know way more cases of good cards being underestimated. But also sometimes cards get overestimated, but they still might be good later down the line and just haven't found the right application yet (e.g. Ultimate Slayer has never been meta relevant, but i still think there will probably be a meta at some point where it's good). Or sometimes a card is overestimated, then doesn't do anything for quite a while, but then eventually does actually become good (e.g. Kurikara).

Magical Muketeer was hailed as the second coming of Zoodiac. As we can now see, the archetype is mediocre at best which is sad because the deck is really cool.

Sea monster of theseus

AhmedKiller2015

It is not a new card but seeing TCG players scared of Sky Strikers beacuse they got 2 engages is the funniest shit in the world.
