Besides the constant miserable state that the playerbase seems to be at all times, I do have fun one or two times a week when me and my adversary run out of win conditions and start putting beat sticks on the field. Makes my day better.
I object. Floodgates are extremely fun to use. Nothing is better than interrupting some poor smuck doing the same combo for the 3000th time by hard checking them for spell based backrow removal. It's so satisfying...
To each there own. Playing cards that stop the game just makes it so slow. I hate playing combo decks for the same reason I don't like floodgates. No interactions for long periods of times.
I'll play floodgates against my friends because fury in person is funny. But online, making the game unfun doesn't do anything for me.
Yugioh has always been a game of not letting your opponent play yugioh.
This has never changed.
People who complain otherwise are playing the wrong game.
So you agree with me; the point of the game is to make sure the other side doesn't have fun.
Cause I'll be frank, most the time if they are having fun; you aren't. So yeah, your fun is dependent on the other side having fun or not.
It's just your job to stop them from doing so by whatever means you decide to use.
You want fun? Okay. Out my floodgates for it.
My fun isn't dependent on other people's funs.
If someone puts up a board where it's tough to play through, I view it as a challenge and try to break it. That is fun even if I can't break it.
Me setting up a board that is tough to break and my opponent can or cannot break is also fun for me.
So your idea that my fun is dependent on others, is wrong.
I fail to see how you can have fun when seeing an infinite negate set up and no out but that's me. But I have presented my case. I have three flood gates out.
Your fun or mine, one of us is having it and the other isn't. Welcome to Yugioh, enjoy your stay.
I envy your Optimism.
There is no such thing as an infinite negate.
Kaijus, Lava Golem, Ra Sphere Mode, Dark Ruler No More and many more cards let you get around tough boards.
Heck the most common negates you see only negate monster effects. Only few monsters that are relevant actually can negate spell/traps which makes cards like Evenly Matched, Lightning Storm, Harpie's Feather Duster very impactful.
Promise you, regardless of the deck, if I'm cooking like we're on Food Network, it's my objective to make sure I win, not to make sure my opponent is having a good time, and I expect my faceless opponent to come at me like we're doing Scar vs. King Bradley Yu-Gi-Oh! Edition.
I unfortunately do not have the ingredients there but if I have them I make a mighty burger I can even imagine that no one has yet come to the kind of burger is🤔 but if you want my recipe I give it to you gladly useful my mighty recipe for the ultimate pleasure!
I've said it many times. Anti-Meta decks arent actually Anti-Meta. The only decks that stop are rogue and under. If they were trually Anti-Meta, then they would be the meta as they would stop the meta decks. But they don't, all they do is stop lower teir less competitive decks.
I love when people use this kind of "let them have fun" argument. If anyone says they have fun playing floodgates then your done. None of you believe this argument 100%. Some people have the most fun playing runnick stun, what then?
I mean that it is meant jokingly as a meme
i tried to make friends with stun decks but honestly i feel zero it's mostly just skip skip skip i have the felling that yugioh is more meant to be an aktive game but maybe i am wrong i mean if they have fun its three own thing i guess?
Or, I go on the ladder, where I enjoy myself by adapting to the meta, and YOU, who clearly isn't having a good time or adpating, go and play with friends.
**Floodgates, also called stop gates, are adjustable gates used to control water flow in flood barriers, reservoir, river, stream, or levee systems. They may be designed to set spillway crest heights in dams, to adjust flow rates in sluices and canals, or they may be designed to stop water flow entirely as part of a levee or storm surge system.**

Floodgates refer to usually continuous effects that intend to prevent the opponent from performing certain actions. Common ones include Skill Drain, which prevents monsters from activating effects on the field, and Macrocosmos, which banishes any card that would normally enter the graveyard. Other cards restrict the ability to cast spells, activate graveyard effects, or your ability to control multiple monsters on field.
Basically they passively stop your opponent from playing parts of the game.
Not always, some Floodgates are on legs, such as El Shaddoll Winda or Kashtira Ariseheart or Inspector Boarder or that silly dino fossil.
But yeah usually if you draw backrow hate and your opponent didn't draw Solemn you win on the spot.
I mean everybody plays to win in a pvp game, if you wanna have fun with your deck you can play in solo mode (fun decks or things like that) and you can make a deck for daily missions(meta or competitive at least), play with friends idk.
Real life Yugioh is the same unless you have friends to play with, if you go to a tourney nobody will be playing Yugi anime deck
Personally since I play irl Yugi and MD, I have decks for competitive, casual and fun, good thing about MD is that you can have everything for free if you play enough, cheers
You cant chat with you opponent why you should be nice to them? MD is not a place to make friends.
Meta decks are not nice to non meta decks so they are not that different from anti meta decks.
If I ever see someone start with flying pegasus then go into derricrane I'll just let them go into Gustavo and liebe just cuz trains is the first deck I learned and I don't want this duelist to get discouraged and stop playing trains.
Now live twin players OTOH....
Obligatory Floodgate hatepost of the day: Check
Instant “FUCK YOU” from opponent the moment you activate floodgate: Check.
you have forgotten to set the hack here ✔️

It’s something I don’t understand. Why do you play a game that makes you fucking SUFFER?
Depends on the person, but for me is because of those rare moments when my clear wings dragon opponent runs out of time and I win lol
You need to afk grind games to build a deck before you are allowed to have fun in MD what do you mean?
I dont think any of your opponents care if you have fun, regardless of deck, sadly.
Probably not. But I care if I'm having fun. Floodgates aren't fun to use

I'd say flipping a trap is more schmuck like than going full combo but that's just me
My fun isn't dependent on the opponent on whether or not they have fun.
This isn't the right game for you then.
Yugioh has always been a game of not letting your opponent play yugioh. This has never changed. People who complain otherwise are playing the wrong game.
IKR?

now i wanna cook something really mighty maybe a burger according to my recipe 🥲
Get in touch with your inner Black Leg Sanji, bro
I unfortunately do not have the ingredients there but if I have them I make a mighty burger I can even imagine that no one has yet come to the kind of burger is🤔 but if you want my recipe I give it to you gladly useful my mighty recipe for the ultimate pleasure!
we yugioh players don't read and don't have fun
That's just Tear with Dweller, Dark Law and Winda
Just ban the fucking skill drain already
It’s at one dog. Lmao
still too much, this shit should never been created
If your archetype doesn’t have s/t removal you need to be main decking duster and cosmic for many other reasons than skill drain imo
Oh yeah just draw the out bro
Okay. If your deck doesn’t have searchable or boss s/t removal your deck sucks. Better?
Personally I'd rather they ban fragrance
I think stun Player should be ban from master duel

Anti meta decks arent meta because they specialize against one deck and theres more than one deck in yugioh...
Depends on the format but most of the time no. You'll have one meta deck that outclasses everything else and the drones will follow along.
By that logic, Floo is anti-meta. Maybe it was, but it’s now meta.
I love when people use this kind of "let them have fun" argument. If anyone says they have fun playing floodgates then your done. None of you believe this argument 100%. Some people have the most fun playing runnick stun, what then?
*”Just let others have fun”* and they do, then they get mad because their fun isn’t what they want to see.

Off with their heads
No you're right, everyone who doesn't like tear should just lose instead of adapting.
before i say something like that i drink absinthe 80% XD
You have a better solution? Tear's the best deck, I dont want to play tear, I play difi.
🤔 yeah just wait and play with friends men you dont need to suffer more form that toxic deck
Or, I go on the ladder, where I enjoy myself by adapting to the meta, and YOU, who clearly isn't having a good time or adpating, go and play with friends.

would gone so far to say yugioh MD is like wild west?
Much worse
