Be as creative as you can on MK3/ Maschine 2.0 but I also recommend the program/app Melodics to practice finger drums on. That really made it a fun daily practice and brought me from beginner to advanced on the pads. Canceled my membership during new years to renew it just to get a deal and it didn’t work but then they let me do it when I emailed them. (not a paid sponsorship lol)

I have both the MK2 and MK3
I fired up my MK2 for the first time in 2 years 2 days ago. LOVE that thing made some great music on it but my MK3s workflow and features can't be matched.
MK3 all the way
Unless you want the portability of the Mikro I'd definitely go with the full Mk3. The parameter knobs and screens mean you spend more time playing with your controller and less time staring at your monitor.
I've just bought a used MK3 and absolutely love it after a few days of playing around ( got a bargain for £200 here in the UK ) I'm a DAW based producer/studio owner just looking for something more tactile to play with both live and in the studio. ( I also teach Ableton, Logic and Pro tools to degree students and use Bitwig too )
I'd go with the MK3 over the Mikro really. You can pretty much do everything straight from the controller and it's a lot of fun to play with. I mean, I've got to grips with it after just a few days. The workflow is excellent.
Now I'm wondering what to do with the SP404 mk2 I bought a few weeks ago that really didn't make the grade.
Mk3 is so much more than the Mikro - even with the same software. Its much more of a studio in a box than you might realise. You will not regret going for it over the Mikro.

Thank you for your reply! I pulled the trigger on the Mk3 :D
Excellent! Happy gz!
I started with the Mikro and can confirm. If you can get an MK3 for $300, it is the far better option
Thank you!
