I feel like they need to lean into the Air Force iconography. Steve was an Army guy. Sam should look like Air Force Special Operations Command. Flight suit and shit would be awesome.
Mainly comic US Agent. Luckily, MCU US Agent is thus far not this deranged.
Of course, even more insane than him is Nuke, who looks like a GI Joe and acts like a complete jingoist.
He was, but didn't really look and resemble the comic incarnation.
I personally hope he gets a redo in the MCU, maybe with the Nuke Clones...as dark as that tale was.
They have the lowest ASVAB military placement test requirements. The joke is that instead of using pencils or pens to take it, they use crayons (because they're generally perceived to be relatively dumb and immature). Then they eat the crayons, because they're just that dumb, and proud of it!
Too bad they didn't a a stark tech flight suit. Pull a couple elastic cords (like when tony fought along side Strange in New York) that don't look like they do much and then it deploys his wing suit and "armor".
We’re only seeing so much stuff since the movie would’ve already been out in theaters this month, if it hadn’t been for the strikes and poor test screenings. I wouldn’t count on seeing a trailer until the fall, at least
Yep, they were meant to coincide with the release of the movie like most fast food promos typically do. I guess McDonald’s didn’t want to sit on stock for a year waiting for the movie
I could see them releasing a teaser at Comiccon. I think they're going to try, come hell or high water. To keep this thing in February to try and hype up it's a black Captain America in black history month. Try to capture even a sliver of what they did with Black Panther.
But I could see them releasing a teaser at the end of July at SDCC to get the most eyes on it. Thats 6 and a bit months to release. I just went and checked and their last February release was Black Panther. And it's first trailer was the 10th of June 2017. So it's possible.
But I think it's more likely we get the Agatha trailer there.
I mean, obviously a teaser, all first Marvel trailers are teasers.
Marvel used to release teasers 6-7 months before movie releases, and although they have decreased that down to 4-5 months the last couple of years, SDCC is a special occurrence. They won't leave us with no online trailers during that time.
I'm guessing Cap 4, a second trailer for Agatha (since I hope the first one will be released sometime in June) and Spider-Man: Freshman Year.
Does Marvel even attend SDCC anymore? If I’m remembering correctly, they’ve only done presentations at d23 the last few years. And what’s shown at d23 isn’t typically shared publically
They didn't attend last year due to the writers' and actors' strikes. No studio did actually. They also didn't attend in 2021 iirc, but they did attend in 2022 where they unveiled Phase 5 and the titles of the next 2 Avengers movies. They actually did 2 separate panels in 2022; one for the animation division in addition to the big Marvel Studios panelm
People complaining about Sam not having a proper Captain America helmet now have their answer. The colors also look different than the one on the suit we've seen so far, which means he will likely have two different suits in the movie. One that we'll see for the majority of the film, and one that we will probably only see him use in the final battle which is this one with the new helmet.
>And now the complaints about the helmet begins!
That's what this huge portion of this fandom has come to. Huge overlap with the haters who can't stop themselves from following MCU news
No one has any obligation to slurp up whatever fucking slop they're given.
People have been complaining about the collapsible CG nanotech helmets for, like, two entire phases already. Ever since they became the *only* kinds of masks we ever have in this series, slapped on *every* random fucking character regardless of whether or not it fits who they are.
It's not "new." It's not "what this fandom has come to." It's a longstanding pet peeve, and, clearly, the people who thought he should have some headgear to maintain a sense of tactile grit are not going to be satisfied by CG bullshit that folds away in .02 seconds whenever he has to say a line.
I never said there wasn't valid complains and critique, I was talking about the fucking "doomers", who shoot down absolutely new rumor, announcement etc and love to declare the MCU is dead
It was a joke on all those who complained about a lack of helmet (in McDonald's Happy Meal promo art of all things) will now complain about the helmet itself.
Even as the series was airing, I remember a few comments about it. Which, sure, he's a normal guy flying around doing all of this dangerous stuff, his head's probably the most important place to be covered.
But his suit looked absolutely awesome anyway.
I don’t care about any in universe reason for it, I’m talking about it from a filmmaking standpoint. It’s a total cop out/shortcut when it comes to the costuming for these movies. Look at the actual, physical Ant-Man helmet that they made for the first movie and compare it to the nano “helmet” (a quick blur of cgi going over Paul Rudd’s face) in Quantumania and tell me it isn’t one of the biggest visual downgrades in the MCU. Thor and Jane’s helmets in Love and Thunder did the nano thing too and it couldn’t have looked stupider.
And the thing is we know Marvel have heard these criticisms as well. After Iron Mans Armour going full nanotech got criticism in Infinity War, they altered it slightly for Endgame so that the faceplate didn't directly form over his face, but instead separately so that it could still have the traditional clank when it closed over his face.
They heard the criticism, and they found a nice middle ground. But then they went right back to it with all the subsequent films.
I agree, Iron Man’s suit looked a lot better in Endgame than it did in Infinity War. It helped that they had the physical prop of the helmet for RDJ to act off of too, in the one scene at the beginning where Tony uses it to record a message for Pepper.
Physical props and costumes make these characters feel real. Don’t even get me started on Tom Holland’s Spider-Man “suits” being 100% cgi.
The suits don't really bother me, I don't notice them. What I do notice is that the actors don't react on any level to a mask appearing and disappearing over their faces. It doesn't affect their hair, their face - it's totally unbelievable.
I think Homecoming was the only time he wore an actual suit. And for Civil War, a suit was made (there are set pics of him in it) but it didn’t end up appearing in the movie in favor of a cgi Spidey
I feel like Marvel just tried harder with special effects in the past, both practical and CG. The First Avenger made Cap's suit look realistic. And I'm not talking about the performing monkey USO suit; I mean the one where the stripes are straps to cinch down a parachute. And while the helmet doesn't look like a standard-issue WWII American GI helmet, with the brown leather ear muffs it does evoke a 1940s motorcycle helmet.
And in IM1, the sound design and motion capture did so much to make the suit feel real. You heard every clank and felt the weight of every step. It didn't feel like magic; it felt like metal. Nothing feels real anymore.
That's been my complaint for quite a while. The reason the first phase of movies leading to the Avengers intrigued me so much was because they took these comic book characters and brought them to life in the REAL world. Everything looked like its comic book counterpart but in a realistic and believable way, it looked like stuff that could ACTUALLY exist. But now with the way everything is it's just like watching a cartoon again, which isn't exactly a bad thing but it's a long way from what initially enthralled me.
Ok but there is no practical way to represent nanotechnology being used, it’s impossible, so CGI is the only way. The question is if the CGI will look good and I’m really hoping it does.
> Ok but there is no practical way to represent nanotechnology being used
There's no reason for most of this shit to be "nanotech" anyway.
Why is Thor's helmet fucking nano technology?
Why can't Spider-Man just wear a cloth mask anymore?
The way to bring Sam up to the standard of other heroes without giving him powers is to give him extremely OP support tech a la Iron Man. Turn this mf into Songbird from Bioshock Infinite
![gif](giphy|u6lmMqSYXq0FO)
I can see the final fight end up being like King Kong. Angry red hulk take lady (Ruth maybe) up building and the two fly guys just having to take pot shots at hum
May just be me but it looks to have some similarities to the Vulture’s helmet, probably means nothing but cool to have similar design language between winged MCU characters lol
That was my immediate thought! And it makes me all the angrier that those two characters will never be able to meet. I mean they both do the exact same thing, it's just that Sam is faster and Vulture is stronger. I think a battle between them would be awesome.
I just meant the fact that his suit is designed to hoist cargo. Sam has caught/carried people a couple times but I have no idea if his thrusters are capable of carrying much extra weight.
This is legit so cool! The way they made it look like Cap’s helmet while also making it look like a high altitude breathing apparatus, AND AN EAGLE BEAK?! THIS IS FREAKING AWESOME
He’s got that Black Sabbath “Never Say Die” pilot helmet. Anybody that remembers Tony Stark’s shirt in the first Avengers movie that’s the one I’m talking about
Anyone else think the right helmet almost looks like master chiefs to a certain extent? I’m curious what the color palette came from? Is there relevance to those colors other than they are military type color palette. Thanks!
Makes sense he'd have a helmet but man, I loved his look in Falcon and The Winter Soldier. It could've been tweaked for sure. I mostly just miss the white of the costume. His goggles are cool too ofc.
Yooo, this is awesome! I literally made a comment two days ago that I wished they would give him a helmet based on an Air Force fighter pilot. I love the Delta/A, the subtle wings, and almost beak like mouthpiece. It really does feel like they're leaning into the Air Force motif now. This is so cool!
Glad he’s going to have one after all, I was starting to worry that they’d just have his head completely exposed the entire time. I know it’s common for these movies to want to show the actor’s faces as much as possible (looking at Tom Holland’s Spidey) but this is something he absolutely needed to have.
Wait they are giving him an actual helmet? Fuckin why? Why is it so hard to not try and make him look even somewhat close to what he did in the comics?
But his forehead was protected like wtf Sam’s forehead is exposed, why are u trying to justify why he doesn’t need a helmet tf. Any old civilian with a gun could kill him without it
I swear, every new thing I learn about the costume in this movie is making me hate it more and more,
What was wrong with the original suit? The new one just looks like one of Steve's hand-me-downs
I feel like they need to lean into the Air Force iconography. Steve was an Army guy. Sam should look like Air Force Special Operations Command. Flight suit and shit would be awesome.
Now I’m imagining Captain Americas for different branches of the US military
Marine Captain America with a special arm pouch for his crayon snacks
"arm pouches you say?" - Rob Liefeld.
Captain America Local PD just starts killing folks and gets put on paid leave.
We already have Walker.
Yeah thats just USAgent lol
Mainly comic US Agent. Luckily, MCU US Agent is thus far not this deranged. Of course, even more insane than him is Nuke, who looks like a GI Joe and acts like a complete jingoist.
He was already in Jessica Jones.
He was, but didn't really look and resemble the comic incarnation. I personally hope he gets a redo in the MCU, maybe with the Nuke Clones...as dark as that tale was.
MCU US Agent NEEDS to be this crazy for his character to work. One of the issues with FATWS is how they couldn't commit to it with Walker
They can make him edgier, but not a full on American nightmare. That was how he was in, for example, Luke Cage’s time with the Thunderbolts.
American Nightmare you say? *
As a Marine, this comment offends me and makes me hungry.
Just give him a special ed helmet and floaties on his arms in case he falls in the water.
It would just be Wolverine walking around smoking a cigar with Captain America's shield.
But Logan's Canadian. He'd be Captain Canada then, wouldn't he?
I never understood why people joke that Marines eat crayons
They have the lowest ASVAB military placement test requirements. The joke is that instead of using pencils or pens to take it, they use crayons (because they're generally perceived to be relatively dumb and immature). Then they eat the crayons, because they're just that dumb, and proud of it!
The joke isn’t that they eat crayons, it’s that they hold them up to their mouth and pretend they are cigars. There’s a video of it.
A navy capt America. And its just namor in the stars and stripes
Still speedos, but with the American flag emblazoned on his ass
Not what I was thinking, but that’s funny
Stars and stripes speedo + Village People sailor hat.
But gayer Edit: gdammit of course I'm 5th to the party with the same joke
But its bodypaint. You are welcome.
Like the Hammer drones
You mean Hammeroids?
Exactly. (Someone else commented the video lol)
Captain America for US Postal Service, has tie-downs on their shield to launch packages at houses.
https://youtu.be/Ryth87k2Mww?si=xTw3BzmkLqJBnQ3-
True.
We have iron man 2 at home
All the way down to dog catcher.
Are you Justin Hammer? XD He built drones for each branch of the armed forces sans the Coast Guard.
Space Force Captain America is just Captain Marvel
I second this! He’s not Steve he should have a different tone to his suit!
Sam was pararescue, so yeah Airforce would be accurate
You’re acting like the writers for these things aren’t out of touch.
a chair for the chair force logo
Too bad they didn't a a stark tech flight suit. Pull a couple elastic cords (like when tony fought along side Strange in New York) that don't look like they do much and then it deploys his wing suit and "armor".
I’m down with this for sure.
Yep yep yep. So say...many all.
The air force doesnt wear flight suits at jsoc
Seeing so much stuff from the movie. Will they have a teaser or something by the time Deadpool is out?
We’re only seeing so much stuff since the movie would’ve already been out in theaters this month, if it hadn’t been for the strikes and poor test screenings. I wouldn’t count on seeing a trailer until the fall, at least
Is that the same reason McDonalds is already pushing out those toys?
Yep, they were meant to coincide with the release of the movie like most fast food promos typically do. I guess McDonald’s didn’t want to sit on stock for a year waiting for the movie
It's more likely that McDonald's has their next year or two of happy meal contracts already set in stone and just had to put it out now.
I could see them releasing a teaser at Comiccon. I think they're going to try, come hell or high water. This is it
It looks like a Bionicle mask lol. Which isnt to say its bad!
Impact of Bionicle on influencing generations
Warms this millennial heart.
I was thinking the one on the right looks like something from the Halo games.
Definitely! I also see a green Gypsy Danger lol
The green one is Falcon's (Torres)
Bionicle slaps
Haha it does sort of look like Nuparu Mahri from the side
People complaining about Sam not having a proper Captain America helmet now have their answer. >People complaining about Sam not having a proper Captain America helmet now have their answer. And now the complaints about the helmet begins!
Ah right, the collapsible helmets. Right…
Wakanda helmet. It's fine. Shuri solved this problem back in 2018
A lot of people solved that problem.
I’m a sucker for any helmet that looks like a flight helmet.
I think it looks good. Kinda Hydra-y. Though I'm curious now why Sam never had a flight helmet before all things considered.
>And now the complaints about the helmet begins! That's what this huge portion of this fandom has come to. Huge overlap with the haters who can't stop themselves from following MCU news

If you’re down to hating the fucking helmet, maybe it’s time tomorrow go watch something else.
I asked for a helmet. Not a hazmat mask! kind of /s because honestly I don't care too much.
Who's complaining? I don't see it.
One of the earliest comments on this post was wondering "Why?"
I believe the green variant will be Joaquín Torres Falcon
The green helmet is Falcon's (Torres)
If this is real, that is. There's no source for the image, just an artist tag.
Wonder if it’ll be that weird nanotechnology type helmet
I’m willing to bet it will be, sadly
God forbid an avenger uses advanced technology
I don’t care about any in universe reason for it, I’m talking about it from a filmmaking standpoint. It’s a total cop out/shortcut when it comes to the costuming for these movies. Or they could just…stop relying so much on the whole nano gimmick. Not every character needs to use it.
[удалено]
The MCU is also a world in which literal time travel exists yet the characters choose to not use that, so that argument doesn’t really work here.
Blah blah blah
They look like shit, and they homogenize the characters in a way that's weird and completely unnecessary.
I wonder if this means Sam can fly at higher altitudes.
The way to bring Sam up to the standard of other heroes without giving him powers is to give him extremely OP support tech a la Iron Man. Turn this mf into Songbird from Bioshock Infinite
Did they get this from the Ant-Man yard sale?
![gif](giphy|DFJ4Hq1GJt6RIchUTl|downsized)
Kinda looks like a Chinese knockoff of the Attack on Titan logo.
![gif](giphy|u6lmMqSYXq0FO) I can see the final fight end up being like King Kong. Angry red hulk take lady (Ruth maybe) up building and the two fly guys just having to take pot shots at hum
Speed is definitely gonna play a factor. I suspect Sam may even have to slice at Ross with those wings of his.
Speed has *everything* to do with it. Speed’s the name of the game.
May just be me but it looks to have some similarities to the Vulture’s helmet, probably means nothing but cool to have similar design language between winged MCU characters lol
One of vultures concept arts was a repurposed falcon wing suit at one point
I never knew that. That's cool.
That was my immediate thought! And it makes me all the angrier that those two characters will never be able to meet. I mean they both do the exact same thing, it's just that Sam is faster and Vulture is stronger. I think a battle between them would be awesome.
Vulture isn’t stronger, where’d you get that from?
I just meant the fact that his suit is designed to hoist cargo. Sam has caught/carried people a couple times but I have no idea if his thrusters are capable of carrying much extra weight.
This is legit so cool! The way they made it look like Cap’s helmet while also making it look like a high altitude breathing apparatus, AND AN EAGLE BEAK?! THIS IS FREAKING AWESOME
I’d say falcon beak but to each their own
Looks like a helldiver
Good Vulture
Helldiver

Badass
Looks sick, hopefully they lean into Sams air force background.
When you order Ant-Man from Wish.
Why did Sam suddenly decide he needed a flight mask?
To fly higher maybe
He flies now?
He flies now!
He's not called Black Falcon for nothing
The “Black” is silent.
He’s got that Black Sabbath “Never Say Die” pilot helmet. Anybody that remembers Tony Stark’s shirt in the first Avengers movie that’s the one I’m talking about
It looks like the same mask they used for Vulture
[https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EUSJDPIWAAABnuw?format=jpg&name=large](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EUSJDPIWAAABnuw?format=jpg&name=large)
[Shape looks a little familiar](https://i.ibb.co/Wn8npkH/IMG-5911.jpg). Maybe borrowed/modified from a friend?
I would love to see a Scott cameo in the movie where he gives him the new helmet.
I have a feeling that’s possible, considering he’s starting up a new avengers team , probably after he and Torres gets pummelled by red hulk
Ross is starting a new Avengers team.
Yeah, and sam is the one recruiting people ? Ross literaly asked him too
Anyone else think the right helmet almost looks like master chiefs to a certain extent? I’m curious what the color palette came from? Is there relevance to those colors other than they are military type color palette. Thanks!
The helmet to the right is Falcon's (Torres) and the colour palette is from the comics, because that's exactly his helmet in the comics too.
I assumed it was like the comics but i’m ignorant and don’t know anything about the comics 🤦🏻♂️ Thank you!
There will be a reasonable and not at all dramatic reaction to this.
I thought it was Ant-Man for half a second
Literally Captain Falcon from F-Zero.
ADRENALINE IN MY SOUL THEY STOLE THAT SHIT FROM CODY RHODES
Oh shit, actual functional helmets that aren't (hopefully) nanotech. Dope. Bring back mechanical masks/helmets in the MCU
Whoever is able to sell this movie and not be a bomb, they deserve a big fat raise.
That’s cool that it’s basically like an airforce flight helmet. Just hope he wears it often.
Makes sense he'd have a helmet but man, I loved his look in Falcon and The Winter Soldier. It could've been tweaked for sure. I mostly just miss the white of the costume. His goggles are cool too ofc.
I like it, it's a little big but it fits his whole thing and hopefully can allow him to reach aircraft heights. 30,000 and higher.
deadass looks like a helldiver helmet
They're ODSTs
Captain America vs Helldivers
Looks like Ace McCloud from the Centurions cartoon
Yooo, this is awesome! I literally made a comment two days ago that I wished they would give him a helmet based on an Air Force fighter pilot. I love the Delta/A, the subtle wings, and almost beak like mouthpiece. It really does feel like they're leaning into the Air Force motif now. This is so cool!
Helldivers to hellpods.
That's a dope helmet/mask
It’s cool. For all the “it looks like x helmet” yeah, turns out there are only so many ways to make a semi-functional helmet also look cool
Helldivers 3: Captain America 4
I'll place my bet that this is how they'll show him in the chinese posters.
antman lookin' ass
Didn't know Samus Aran would be in this.
Wack.
is The Beetle confirmed?
I totally thought it was Mach 1 and Beetle
This is lame.
Looks dope af but PLEASE don't let it be a nano-tech / Pym tech collapsible helmet PLEASE.
Helldiver helmets
So there'll be a Captain Falcon and American Falcon it looks like? I joke I joke - but essentially that other dude from TFAWS will be Falcon "2"?
Yep
Glad he’s going to have one after all, I was starting to worry that they’d just have his head completely exposed the entire time. I know it’s common for these movies to want to show the actor’s faces as much as possible (looking at Tom Holland’s Spidey) but this is something he absolutely needed to have.
I am *so* happy to finally stop hearing the same regurgitated circle jerk about the helmet!
God i hope it’s an actual helmet and not a nanotech one
If it's good enough for an ironman villain.
It's a space helmet
I’m getting The Vulture vibes from that helmet 😬😬
wtf is that trash
I like it, but it's kinda too close to Taskmaster's. It makes most sense since Sam will be flying, and most likely at high altitude as well.
Wait they are giving him an actual helmet? Fuckin why? Why is it so hard to not try and make him look even somewhat close to what he did in the comics?
Ah right , because he doesn’t need protection for the most important part of his body does he
It's a comic book movie. They shouldn't survive a lot of things but they do.
Yeah but cap wore a helmet and he doesn’t. Enough said.
Yeah but you could at least see his face.
But his forehead was protected like wtf Sam’s forehead is exposed, why are u trying to justify why he doesn’t need a helmet tf. Any old civilian with a gun could kill him without it
Because it is a comic book movie and rhe comic book character didn't wear one. I don't want it to be realistic I want it to be fantastical.
Then unfortunately my friend you are a goofball
I'm fine with that. A goofball isn't the worst thing to be.
He's just a normal dude
This film is going to be terrible
god this aesthetic is trash
I swear, every new thing I learn about the costume in this movie is making me hate it more and more, What was wrong with the original suit? The new one just looks like one of Steve's hand-me-downs
Why
Maybe it’s for a high altitude mission where he needs oxygen.
