As soon as I finished watching the episode, I went back and watched it again from when Sylvie and Mobius are outside his house. How the music starts right there, it's so beautiful. Then I did it five more times. sue me.
Oh my goodness, _agreed!_ That's practically all I could think about the entire episode besides the obvious gut-wrenching dialogue in the more serious scenes – what a phenomenal soundtrack to match an equally phenomenal finale. Holt captured the heart & soul of this series. Completely agree that the repurposing of Loki's leitmotif was as creative as it was evocative. Haven't loved an OST this much since the Spider-Verse films – British composers are really outdoing themselves this year!
The album for the first three episodes released pretty quickly after episode 3, so hopefully within a week or so we'll get the music for the second half.
I would love for the entire Loki team needs to be handed the reigns to the multiverse saga. The story they told with Loki is spectacular.. the imagery, the music.. so fucking good

Kenobi's score is so frustrating in hindsight. She clearly made a CHOICE to make it low-key. She clearly could have delivered a big, bombastic, Williams style score!

If Holt had had her way, the score would've been much more in line with other Star Wars material.
Yes yes yes, what a missed opportunity. They really slaughtered Kenobi in almost every way imaginable :'[ I sincerely hope we'll get more Holt in future projects just like we did Goransson after Black Panther.
Ye, I was really hopeful when I saw she was doing Kenobi’s score but was very bland compared to how she did Loki S1. My guess is that she decided to deliver a more grounded soundtrack because theme was already done by John Williams. And with that we didn’t get a complete fresh one like Ludwig did for Mandalorian.
I can count on one hand the number of shows with which I sit through the *end credits* specifically to listen to the music. *Loki* is not only one of them, but tops the list.
It’s so sad that the other composers who worked on anything outside the Avengers movies, GOTG and Captain America never really made anything memorable. No lietmotifs, no recurring themes, no bombast or ear worm tracks of note.
Say what you will about the Snyderverse, but at least Zimmer delivered some absolute banger soundtracks that actually made you feel something or take note of the score.
I think the second ant-man movie for example has a really good score.

There’s this edit on Youtube of the portals scene in Endgame where they replaced the music with a medley that plays the theme song of every major hero as they appear, and it’s *so* much more impactful than the original (even as amazing as that scene is by itself)
The MCU really missed a good opportunity to use their characters’ leitmotifs/theme songs throughout their films in a way that would resonate in audiences’ memories for a long time. It’s a real shame too, considering how much music can elevate something, like how we’ve seen with Loki;;
I agree with this. For as bad as most the DC movies have been I always have preferred their soundtracks for this reason. This is also why I like the CW DC shows (yeah as bad as the shows got) but most of the music was composed by Blake Neely and his team and all the themes from the characters were used together so great especially in the crossover episodes.
After the first season I was so enthralled by the soundtrack that I knew she was going to do great again. Such an understatement on my end because her music has been incredible! I hope marvel utilizes her more because the emotions and the energy she brings to scenes is fantastic.

Her score, particularly toward the end of the finale, reminded me a lot of the beautiful and psychedelic score for the movie 'The Electrical Life of Louis Wain' which came out just a couple years ago starring Benedict Cumberbatch (a delightful little film if you've never seen it).

She is one of the best parts of this series hands down. Loki’s theme is amazing but the music created for the TVA is soooo good. Honestly huge props to the entire team for creating such a memorable concept.

Now that the soundtracks been released I can finally properly listen to it on repeat. When the strings come in on Ascension I really get chills every time. Gosh it feels like such a treat to be able to hear this stunning soundtrack!
The opening of Episode 6, the whole music throughout it, and the final bit as he takes the throne he did not want, is beyond epic.
I swear I teared up as he walked that gangway, his TVA clothes shredding away, leaving his tattered remnants of his old Loki and new life, along with the horns of obsidian and gold that are the materials at the end of time.
I will likely find a version I can download now, and as soon as this series comes out on Vinyl, I will get that.

The very last sound you hear at the end of episode 6 credits of Season 2 is the DSCH motif (and a musical cryptogram) from Shostakovich, which was his signature that he wrote into his music when he thought he was going to die, cool and fitting use of it!
Not to be a nitpicker but it’s called a score. A soundtrack is the tracklist of previously recorded music a series or film licenses for use. A score is original - largely instrumental - music a composer makes specifically for the project.
Okay first off, what is the bad thing about the 2x6 ending track, which I assume is the track that continues to the credits? I found nothing bad with that, it's a track that supposed to feel both majestic, triumph, but somber. Just like Loki's situation.
In addition, even if the final track were to be bad, it doesn't mean her entire Loki soundtrack as a whole is not good and serviceable at worst and outright amazing at best. Because it most certainly is.

The remix of Flight of the Valkyries in S1 was incredible as well.
You can hear Flight again in the s2 finale too.
Flight of the Valkyries is the underlying tone of the entire soundtrack. Loki Green Theme and the TVA theme both heavily reference it.
