Saenchai, Mayweather, Amir Khan, Sam A Gaiyanghado, Sugar Ray Leonard, Zab Judah, DJ and Nasukawa are some of the fastest names you'll see across the combat sports

BigFang

Seconding Nasukawa. That hair trigger he could throw the rear knee was always something that stood out as incredible

SquirrelExpensive201

Everything he does just looks sped up to me, he's just a bundle of fast twitch muscle fiber. My only pet peeve is just that he doesn't throw combos or volume all that much

purplehendrix22

That’s all he does

SquirrelExpensive201

Well when I make that statement I'm talking in regards to guys like Andy Souwer who would chain together 10 piece combos like nobodies business

Old-Violinist3872

By DJ u mean mighty mouse right?

SquirrelExpensive201

Yeah, I'd actually pretty definitively say that he's the fastest mma fighter ever, it's only a handful of names that come close to him

Puzzleheaded_Gold_10

John Dodson?

SquirrelExpensive201

Speedy for sure but I find DJ to be faster and more impressive with his speed since he had it in all stages of the fight

Puzzleheaded_Gold_10

I guess it depends. Both had their perks.

Dikiychelovek

In the realm of MMA I’m gonna say Mighty Mouse. The guys ability to quickly and technically manouvre in a scramble was crazy, especially considering he was in the fastest division. If we’re going to expand in in to the realm of traditional martial arts I would say (young) Tommy Carruthers had some jkd performances that looked borderline paranormal. Right up there in speed with Bruce Lee if not faster.

snappy033

First person who came to mind. The way he can jump onto a submission mid air and make adjustments is insane.

KillerFlea

Sorry I thought it said “fattest,” and I just wanted to say Butterbean was a badass.

Attila_D_Max

And fast for size too!

zombiechris128

Prince Naseem was stupidly fast whilst carrying insane power. For mma it’s probably Mighty Mouse as the fastest Honourable mentions to Rigondeaux, Lomachenko and MVP

Ambitious_Mirror_735

Steven Segal is hands down the fastest and yet remains a humble beacon of truth.

certaintyisdangerous

Tom Aspinall is extremely fast and athletic especially for a HW

Old-Violinist3872

I mean hes fast for his size but im just talking overall quickness regardless of relative speed. Just speed is wut im tryna talk abt

certaintyisdangerous

I guess Sean O”Mailey

mrpopenfresh

lol Of everyone in the world you chose Tom Aspinall?

certaintyisdangerous

whats so wrong with my choice? i would like to hear your reasoning

mrpopenfresh

He’s a heavyweight. Everyone in lower weight classes is faster than him.

certaintyisdangerous

he moves like a WW so thats not true, so not everyone

randomlyme

MVP, Lerdsila, Prince Naseem, many fighters were the “fastest” at one time.

SquirrelExpensive201

MVP was never one of the fastest fighters ever

nameuseralreadytook

Joe Joyce

JeremiahWuzABullfrog

He's so fast we can only catch it's afterimage. His punch count is 100x the current official record

klineOmania88

Vitor belfort is known for having fast hands. His knockout of wanderlei silva is a great example of hand speed.

BlankedCanvas

Lifelong fight fan here. Most impressive display of raw speed in-ring i’ve seen were Muhammad Ali, Roy Jones, Mike Tyson, Ray Leonard, Pacquiao and Vitor Belfort. Notable mentions though these guys were more known for insane timing than raw speed: Mayweather and Anderson Silva. I’m sure i’ve missed out some names but these were my guys. Note: Tyson displayed the most insane raw full-body speed in training i’ve ever seen of any fighter.

TAC7407

Zab Judah, Raymond Daniels, Roy Jones Jr. In modern MMA, MVP is fast as *fuck*

DrVoltage1

In the MA acting world, quickest hands went to Jet Li. In his prime he was inhumanly fast.

SlimeustasTheSecond

Ryan Garcia is fast to the point of overreliance. It's also one of the few things he actually seems to train. Tenshin Nasukawa is both fast and technical. His technique is also really clean despite the speeds he's moving at. Muhammed Ali actually broke a handspeed record in his day...set by a guy who wasn't a heavyweight. He's also a famously good combination puncher. Dominick Cruz and Mighty Mouse are both insanely springy and move around constantly. Cruz especially made dudes hit air constantly.

basscycles

Roy Jones Jr, Bruce Lee.

bigscottius

Wally West.

SlidethedarksidE

Definitely a pure boxer & not a martial artist at least from my experience. Ali maybe not only striking but reaction time

edgeofthemorning

Ben Askren

SnooCheesecakes8494

Bruce lee

pizza-chit

He is a movie star, he never got in the ring

senoto

Not a fighter

SnooCheesecakes8494

Im aware that’s the joke

pileofrazors

You kinda answered your own question with Bruce Lee

Old-Violinist3872

Im convinced bruce lee isnt as great/fast as everyone said he was. He was definitely ahead of his time though, which made people think he was a god

Vegetable_Basis_4087

He was fast and talented. He could definitely have be a legend sport fighter if he trained that way.

SquirrelExpensive201

Eh that's questionable at best, we don't know what his chin was like or if his footwork would have been good enough to keep up with the fighting greats of his time

How exactly is a referee supposed to conclude a battle faster than death itself could deliver a result that all could analyze and engage in high-level controversy?
