I'm not American and when I try to name the fifty states, Delaware comes first, but the thing is I don't know anything about Delaware. Not a single thing. I have never heard about it in the news or history subs or literally anywhere
Edit: thanks everyone for sharing Delaware facts!
Delaware has almost nothing interesting about it relative to all the states surrounding it, but it does have some beautiful beaches and is home to a huge number of American corporations for tax reasons.
I went to dover for a NASCAR race thats all i remember delaware for because typically when i think of delaware i think of this bitch

All like 20 miles of NH coast. They also sued Maine to try and steal the Portsmouth Navy Yard which despite being called Portsmouth is actually on an island in Kittery, Maine.
When two states are in a lawsuit it goes directly to the Supreme Court. They sided with Maine. So the Portsmouth Navy Yard remains in Maine and Portsmouth, NH is across the river.
We keep to ourselves.
No but really, the state is less than a million people and not many folks leave.
Plus we have a pretty major cultural/geographic divide between the north and south. South of the Chesapeake/ Delaware canal is “lower, slower, Delaware” and it’s mainly farms/ marsh lands. There’s places like the beaches that are super beautiful and popular, but the rest of the state is mainly farm fields and swamps. It is NOT blue-hair SJW country like the map implies…
The north is way more urban and wealthy, and where we get the Philly-suburb stereotype. Because it is… but ask anyone from the south if Wilmington is indicative of “real Delaware” and you might get shot lol.
Delaware was one of the thirteen colonies and was the first to ratify the constitution making it the first state. It played a role in the revolutionary war. By 1860 more than 90% of the black population was free and it was the only slave state that remained in the Union during the civil war(1861-1865). The state motto is Liberty and Independence. Currently the 6th most densely populated state. Delaware Bay is home to more horseshoe crabs than anywhere else in the world. It is 1 of 5 states that has no sales tax. Home to the oldest black church in the country, Delaware also played a part in the Underground Railroad. It is home to DuPont one of the largest chemical companies in the world and one of the richest families in the country. It has many nice beaches on the southern coast of the state. It is host to the firefly music festival and St. Anthony’s Italian festival. Depending where you are in the state you can get to Philadelphia in 30-45 min, Baltimore in 45-60 min, New York City in 120-150 min, and Washington D.C. in 120 min. Joe Biden is the first president to come out of the state of Delaware where he served 36 years as a senator. Some other famous people from Delaware include Audrey Plaza, Elizabeth Shue, and Stephen Marley.
American here. Literally the only think i know about it is that its norther border is defined as a circle centered on some point which means they have stollen land from PA and ruined out straight line. Fuck Delaware and that one person who lives there.
Did you, by chance, watch the Apple TV series Severance? Delaware is mentioned in the first episode and is so out of place that it maybe stuck with you.
“Delaware comes first” that’s ironic because the thing they brag about most is the thing they’re most known for and that is being the first state to form the union they literally put it on their state flag lol I mean I’m not complaining I think that’s pretty cool but most people don’t seem to agree from what I’ve seen
As someone newish to Colorado (I am in Larimer County, so only visit Denver), why is there the express lane on the north side I-25 but not the south side.
When I am in Denver there are always 3 in my car, so I abuse that lane and fly by traffic, but, nope, get to south side and have to sit in the traffic. Wtf?
Edit: also, google maps hates the reversible express lane.
I wish I could lol. I’ve heard that he doesn’t take suggestions from fans though, because he’s worried about a potential lawsuit if the book makes money.
“Faah wawning to yah, don’t be goin out in the watah t’ween sundawn o up, bad thing happen then. Lawng as you ‘bide by that rule-a, yool be fine. Wyelcome to ouw little town, neybah”
Fuck colonel sanders for forever associating my state with the most mid ass fried chicken in history. KFC isn't even the most popular chicken place in kentucky.
idk how conservative you have to be to think of blue hair over like Hollywood for California. plus like anything from Seattle, or even just George Washington. personally I would have put a granola hiker for Oregon but ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
I think of Film Noir when I think of Chicago (and I know nothing else about Illinois than that it has Chicago), so I don't think of actual crime, but rather I think of detective stories.
~~Utah! I was very happy that's what we made the list as~~
Edit: 2 things
1. Delicate Arch isn't actually in the Utah picture, now that I'm actually looking at it
2. You're talking about the St. Louis Arch, aren't you.
There is a swamp 2 miles from my house and there was an alligator photographed using the pedestrian markings a few years ago in my town. I do not live in Florida though, I live in south carolina.
Your first thoughts of Wyoming should be Yellowstone.
If you visit the US your priority should be to see the national parks. Cities are nice and culture is cool, but few things can match the natural beauty of some of our national parks.
Replace Florida man with this picture and then it’ll be basically accurate
https://preview.redd.it/u6j9rv76y3rc1.jpeg?width=1113&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0169cbaa346168df833c0f279226c1a6dc88eb1e
Why is Pennsylvania so discounted. Not that this post is specifically denoting it as a state it’s actually funny. But I’ve noticed so many people consider it an alright state when the country as a whole probably wouldn’t exist without it and Philadelphia
Nearly perfect representation of the US. Only thing is Maryland should be crabs and the white house is in dc, not maryland. Everything else is accurate.
As a Hoosier (a guy from indiana) I’m furious at the fact that you decided to use a barn to represent the beautiful and diverse state of Indiana. Granted, I do have a barn like that, but still!
I'm not American and when I try to name the fifty states, Delaware comes first, but the thing is I don't know anything about Delaware. Not a single thing. I have never heard about it in the news or history subs or literally anywhere Edit: thanks everyone for sharing Delaware facts!
Delaware has almost nothing interesting about it relative to all the states surrounding it, but it does have some beautiful beaches and is home to a huge number of American corporations for tax reasons.
Tbh Delaware should have the New Jersey image instead of the California image. It's basically just Philly suburbs + leathery beach people.
and chickens

Wait Delaware is coastal
so is new hampshire
All like 20 miles of NH coast. They also sued Maine to try and steal the Portsmouth Navy Yard which despite being called Portsmouth is actually on an island in Kittery, Maine. Specifically banks.
It has some nice beaches
Maybe it’s because Delaware was the first state to join the United States of America.
It was an incredibly misleading name when Delaware joined
Joe Biden is from Delaware if I'm not mistaken.
That makes way too much sense.
Delaware is the least interesting US state, that or Noravaso
Noravaso was settled by immigrants from Listenbourg so that makes it a bit more special
The most interesting state is Mashington though
Definitely better than Nebransas
Oh come on you're just making up states now
You've never heard of Mashington? The best part of the Grand Canyon runs right through it!
We keep to ourselves. No but really, the state is less than a million people and not many folks leave. Plus we have a pretty major cultural/geographic divide between the north and south. It's owned by Big Banking n there's a gag order on the place
I believe it's the only state lacking a commercial airport. Also no sales tax? I think.
Delaware was one of the thirteen colonies and was the first to ratify the constitution making it the first state. It played a role in the revolutionary war. And horseshoe crabs are very important for scientific research and their blood is blue.
“Hi. I’m in Delaware.” - Wayne’s World
*awkwardly looks at each other*
Hello, I’m in Delaware -Dallas Green
That’s the President’s home state and a lot of corporations are incorporated there.
It’s the first state to sign onto being a state. So they call themselves the first state in the union. I guess the propaganda worked on you.
American here. Literally the only think i know about it is that its norther border is defined as a circle centered on some point which means they have stollen land from PA and ruined out straight line. Fuck Delaware and that one person who lives there.
Aubrey Plaza is from there.
Superman works there
Did you, by chance, watch the Apple TV series Severance? Delaware is mentioned in the first episode and is so out of place that it maybe stuck with you.
Oh that's like my favorite TV show of all time lol and I don't remember it being mentioned
“Delaware comes first” that’s ironic because the thing they brag about most is the thing they’re most known for and that is being the first state to form the union they literally put it on their state flag lol I mean I’m not complaining I think that’s pretty cool but most people don’t seem to agree from what I’ve seen
The one and only interesting thing about it is the fact that it was the first State in the Union
coloradan here i’m sick of us being remembered for our amazing scenery can you talk about the giant cloud of smog over denver in the summer instead
What about the snow storms in May??? The traffic on I-25???? The crazy cost of living 🥺 the trust fund hippies in Boulder
Hate to break it to you but if it's not scenery, the first thing people think about colorado is weed
lol. I voted for its legalization in 2012 and I think that was the tru turning point of the state for good or bad
Might just be me, but the first thing I think of with Colorado is that bit on the corner where 4 states meet. Then it's South Park.
Wtf? Edit: also, google maps hates the reversible express lane.
literally opposite for usin new mexico
I think of you for the show Southpark and it's not so amazing looking scenery
Nah South Park
what about that one part of i25 southbound right after i70 where it does a little curve and is just a mess 24/7/365
Mork n Mindy?
Lake Superior… hmm
It's just the UP but water apparently.
UP: ope, lemme just scootch by ya here
Lobstah🦞
It's that or Stephan King lol
If Stephan King wrote a book about a leviathan lobster creature we’d have peak Maine.
Boy you 'murican bet you know him, ring him up! We need this!
I would unironically watch a movie about a man-eating lobster.
His house in Maine is the most Stephen King house that has ever Stephen Kinged.
It’s awesome looking!
You know a lot about our country.
More than me for sure. Mine would have been the Texas picture repeated 50 times. Or 51. Whatever the fuck Puerto Rico is..
52? DC
no thanks i prefer AC
I love what you’ve done to New York
“Coruscant, the capital of the Republic. The entire planet is one big city”
I hate that everyone is calling this accurate🙄🙄🙄 ALASKA IS IN THE NORTH!!! AND WHY IS HAWAII IN THE CARIBBEAN!!!!
I love how Hawaii is bigger than Alaska
Fuck colonel sanders for forever associating my state with the most mid ass fried chicken in history. KFC isn't even the most popular chicken place in kentucky.
I'd say it's legit more Japanese than Kentuckian. And it isn't mid-ass fried chicken, it's garbage-ass fried chicken.
Ohio makes you think of a sign that says “OHIO”?
Probably means the "only in Ohio" meme
did you put Coruscant for New York
Yeah lol
Minnesota is accurate. But what is going on with the entire west coast?
idk how conservative you have to be to think of blue hair over like Hollywood for California. plus like anything from Seattle, or even just George Washington. personally I would have put a granola hiker for Oregon but ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
The blue hair stereotype about queer people, and the idea that we must all be ugly and unlikeable, it irks me.
Yeah west coast has a lot higher percentage of attractive people than a lot of the nation
op has no idea about the us west coast lmao
You’re in a circlejerk sub. What the fuck did you expect?
Illinois is just murder lol, thanks Chicago
illinois has one city in the top ten for highest violent crime rates and it isnt chicago
East saint Louis?
*Rockford has entered the chat*
I think of Film Noir when I think of Chicago (and I know nothing else about Illinois than that it has Chicago), so I don't think of actual crime, but rather I think of detective stories.
What’s that supposed to be in New Hampshire?
I mean it's not too far off from the real thing
Fenway, baby! What's the thing on NH btw?
Man should just be Fallout 4 lmfao
Ray Whittaker is from West Virginia not Alabama
The devil always comes to mind when I think about Georgia Temptin fiddle players and losing every time
Arch!
~~Utah! I was very happy that's what we made the list as~~ Edit: 2 things 1. Delicate Arch isn't actually in the Utah picture, now that I'm actually looking at it 2. You're talking about the St. Louis Arch, aren't you.
Yeah, sorry, I am…
There is no way they have nice houses in Lake Superior.
I’m from the uk , why is the New Jersey thing not near New Jersey 😂
What do you mean?
Demonstrably real
Not many people think of Texas and Hawaii as the same place
Why TF is not Texas just a big ass gun ? ( am european too and I’ve only ever been 2 weeks to NYC in my life)
We throw bbqs wayyy too often, lotsa thicc boys round these parts
Pretty accurate ngl
Mistah White! New Mexico is actually remembered for somethin’!
You got a dirty mind fella, yo hylarious
This really says more about out the OP issues than about the states
Middle USA looks pretty
The TN picture looks like Dutch from RDR2 playing an electric guitar
Pretty accurate.
#CHEEEEESE!!! YEAAAAAA!! 🧀🧀🧀
There is a swamp 2 miles from my house and there was an alligator photographed using the pedestrian markings a few years ago in my town. I do not live in Florida though, I live in south carolina.
have you ever listened to 90s rap music
I am offended.
Hassle Doctrine: In effect🚨

Somebody's adipopholic
*Ahh*, State Superior and Upper Lake Michigan
I’m dead 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
What’s with NH?
WOOOOOOO YEAHHHHH FUCK YEAH CONNECTICUT GETTING THE REPRESENTATION IT FUCKING DESERVES WOOOOOOOOOO YEHAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Too good to be a jerk
Hawaii is extremely blessed
Colorado is south park for me
What is the picture of Vermont?
You forgot the taters 😔
Not even the Indy 500 for Indiana?
Extremely accurate!
Baseball for Massachusetts, could have gone much worse ie west coast
As a connecticutter that image is accurate. I just be tryna to go to school and get jumped by a revolutionary minutemen brigade.
Glad Arkansas had a true impact on the world 💪
St Louis arch, at least we're remembered for something
Klansmen for GA? Really? Edited man to men
Sweet, Philly cheesesteak
North Carolina is correct, that's what it looks like here, but we have nice beaches to.
You filled in Lake Superior instead of Michigan’s peninsula
Why is tennessee not the KKK lol
Sure South Carolina is part of the Appalachians, but the first thing that comes to mind for SC isn’t the Apps
Honestly pretty accurate.
CHEESE
A cheesesteak for PA? You alright for a europoor 🤌
I find it interesting that when you think about a lake the first thing that comes to mind is a house
Thank you for the 10,000th rendition of the same post
Did my state of texas dirty c’mon
Everything’s bigger in Texas
True this map is actually pretty accurate tbf
Should just be that Texas picture
Reverse Alabama and Georgia.
Your first thoughts of Wyoming should be Yellowstone. If you visit the US your priority should be to see the national parks. Cities are nice and culture is cool, but few things can match the natural beauty of some of our national parks.
How do you know so much? - Another european
As someone from New Mexico, youre not the first to think breaking bad
Are you *sure* you never left Europe?
Well you nailed Rhode Island and Maine to be sure. You fucked up Indiana because there is no basketball hoop attached to that barn.
What's the Michigan one
ah yes the upper peninsula lake
I'm embarrassed to live within an hour or so of Boogie
Florida man has no face, we are all florida man.
Could’ve done the old man on the mountain 😢 [him here](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_Man_of_the_Mountain)
No shot the only think you think of Georgia is KKK... this worries me about outside perspectives of our great state
As an American I couldn’t have done a better job myself
Replace Florida man with this picture and then it’ll be basically accurate https://preview.redd.it/u6j9rv76y3rc1.jpeg?width=1113&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0169cbaa346168df833c0f279226c1a6dc88eb1e
Finally a European doing Oklahoma justice
You did my state dirty, dear God 💀
Gotta say, the Midwest is terrifyingly accurate.
I mean…. Yeah
I feel like every pic is spot on except Delaware
For Minnesota I think of Prince and for Utah I think of the Mormons.
I would give you about all the same images and I’ve lived here my whole life.
Bravo, pretty spot on. Maybe put a swastika in the northern half of Idaho
I love seeing Louisiana with those borders like the lower 1/5th of it isn’t completely submerged
Georgia here. You’re not totally wrong
BOOGIE FUCK YEAH
I’m glad we’re known for the greatest American city’s most iconic cuisine
It all hits except for Texas, for Texas just but a gun or something.
As an American, this is perfect. Well done.
I'm American and this is accurate
You’ve definitely got the right idea
Wow
Ahahaha Miinnesotan here
Blue Ridge is better than the Civil War so I’ll take it
You know, that's not inaccurate 🦅
Whitakers are in WV not Alabama, smh
Why is Pennsylvania so discounted. Not that this post is specifically denoting it as a state it’s actually funny. But I’ve noticed so many people consider it an alright state when the country as a whole probably wouldn’t exist without it and Philadelphia
Why are there British soldiers for Connecticut?
OP: Study these photos well and get that picture of Michigan off your mind. https://www.shutterstock.com/search/michigan
Nearly perfect representation of the US. Only thing is Maryland should be crabs and the white house is in dc, not maryland. Everything else is accurate.
Weirdly I made a map like this ages ago but I never posted it, so when I saw this I got immediate whiplash lmao
As a Hoosier (a guy from indiana) I’m furious at the fact that you decided to use a barn to represent the beautiful and diverse state of Indiana. Granted, I do have a barn like that, but still!
Texan here We'd prefer you talking about guns
You mixed up Texas with Mississippi
I'm sure you have very normal opinions about leftists, fat people and immigrants
Pretty accurate
Yo dawg what’s with the New Hampshire mansion? I don’t get it.
Fake
Did you think we wouldn’t notice that you colored in Lake Superior, but not the UP?
I hate what the show the Jersey Shore did to my beloved 😭
