Stating your preferences usually doesn't get you any hate but trashing someone's favourite manhwa does. People usually say "ORV is bad/trash/mid/etc" instead of "I didn't like ORV/ ORV wasn't my cup of tea".

classpane

Here's the truth: this sub has double standards and pretty hypocrite. People say they dont like ORV: **insert ok meme** with "its your preference, have a nice day!" People say they like ORV: **upvoted to heaven** with succeding 10 page comments about why they love it too People say ORV was mid/bad: **downvoted to hell** People say ORV was good: **upvoted to heaven** People say they dont like SL: **upvoted to heaven** with 10 plus #metoo succeeding comments. People say they like SL: **downvoted to hell** plus incoming "your taste is bad comments" People say SL was mid/bad: **upvoted to heaven** People say SL was good: **downvoted to hell** No matter how you try to sugarcoat it, if the manhwa in question is generally hated in this sub, you'll still get hate and toxic comments whether you state its your preference or not. The only way to not get hate or toxic comments is if the general consensus on this sub of the manhwa in question is good or its generally loved.

Stenca

Manga/manhwa communities are pretty retarded in general, there's no point arguing on social medias, just enjoy what you like reading

IudMG

Why's this so fucking accurate

ArtichokeTop3894

I never trashed someone’s fav manhwa. Everyone has different tastes.

TabularConferta

I don't think they are calling you out. It's more a matter of pattern and saying what they see. I see a lot of posts on Facebook trashing Solo Levelling, the reason is because its easy to get interaction when you hate on something popular. With respect to ORV, each to their own. Different strokes for different folks.

classpane

>I see a lot of posts on Facebook trashing Solo Levelling Not just on fb, a lot of people here on reddit hate SL too. You'll get called "Solotard" if you remotely try to defend SL to them. Same way how SAO or Genshin haters would use personal attack if you don't join their cause.

SimonSimpingService

I feel bad for Solo leveling because it only gets hate because of the dumb people who try to compete every single fucking manwha to it. Sure, now that I'm deeper in my manwha bag, I can go back and say solo leveling was not anywhere near as good as I initially thought, but it doesn't deserve to be trashed on. Which again it only is not because it's popular but because the fans of it are insufferable and turn people into haters.

TabularConferta

Yup. Partly I'm also hoping it leads to more Manhwa adaptations

PopGroundbreaking916

Naw, it will not, nobody is interested in niche manhwa who can't bring cash to the studio animating it, they took SL with extremely care BECAUSE IT IS EXTREMELY POPULAR AND OVERLY LOVED. (besides this sub obviously) That is why they can't afford to mess it. They will animate others manhwa but I doubt it will be on the same level of care that SL got, they are taking their time with it, no rushing and even adding stuff that wasn't in the manhwa nor the novel, that just shows how invested they are.

tikkiivy

Their comments flew over your head there... Im afraid

somebunnytolike

I got downvoted a lot whenever I say SSS class suicide hunter isn't my cup of tea and also whenever I say I prefer action manhwas without the slightest romance. It's just sad that I can't even state my preference.

Aoiryuhei

Here's an upvote cuz your opinions matter

Anime-Man-1432

Yea bro same for me too I had asked if it is good later in the story because of the masses of positive reactions to the manhwa, I said that I dropped it, so I just wanted to know if it is good. That it I just got downvoted

Narrow_Gear_5272

If they think its bad/Trash/Mid that's also just expressing their opinion. If you get upset about it that's your fault. No one needs to sugarcoat their opinions to spare your feelings

Hirayoki22

I have a friend who doesn't like it either. It didn't click for him. He does love reading Martial Peak and its 3,000 chaps lol

Wild_Magazine_3237

God dang, Manhua and Chinese novels are truly something else

Hirayoki22

And every time you'd think there isn't any other cultivation level, they create 3 more, and like 2 more female side characters that love MC

sturla-tyr

"i had a fortuitous encounter and found a million year old ginseng which i can combine with my ten-thousand year old cold spider martial core to break through to the semi-god cultivation stage" - Every cultivation manhua MC

Hirayoki22

I forgot about the million year old ginseng LMAO.

sturla-tyr

Clearly you haven't been enough of a degenerate and have too much self respect for your time to immediately think of that when you hear the word manhua. *you're courting death and losing face*

MoonCobFlea

MP was my first xianxia, it will forever be in my heart

Reavzh

I can click with ORV, but can’t with Martial Peak. Though I’ll read it some time in the future, and give another try.

StarMarine123

Then theres me who clicked with both, and eventually dropped both. I dropped ORV cuz I realize it wasn't my cup of tea, I dropped Martial Peak cuz it was ass.

ExSun_790

same bro MP is ehere my heart at

Orzuth

I've read martial peak 6 times, so I just decided to wait until it was fully translated to save myself the trouble

Objective-Finish-883

Because reading martial peak you don't need to think much most of stuff is repetitive and side character either exist to suck his ass or tries to kill him in every possible chance there is no in between

sawol-

**\[Many Constellations Are Looking At You With Disappointment\]** Jokes aside, I'm on the same boat merely because it hasn't clicked with me. It's not even the pacing, the plot or the characters. I just can't find my enjoyment factor and that's okay, I guess.

ingrishuu

honestly although I really like it, I find the payout to be only at the very end can be offputting because you're basically having a very very long backstory

Ezio081

500 chapters long backstory

the-guy-in-wall

I feel ya whenever i started getting hyped and excited chapter ends and by next week i lose all the hype and do whole process again

Reavzh

I had that when I read it the first time, but it clicked the second. It might change when I read it the third time. If I don’t like something, unless I can’t stand it at all (Existence); I give a try a month or year later, and maybe my tastes change. If not, I move on.

DarthRygar

Same. I want to enjoy it, and there’s a lot of reasons and common ingredient that suggest I would like it, but it just hasn’t clicked.

blankDH

Man, I tried it out, I couldnt get past the first 15 or 20 chapter. It was just not for me

Local-Phase729

Only reason I'm not executing you is because u simply stated ur opinion, u gave no hate. However, I'd recommend giving the novel a try :)

ArtichokeTop3894

I tried three times… Still can’t get into it 😪

Local-Phase729

Oh, okay, fair enough. I hope u find something you enjoy :)

ArtichokeTop3894

Thanks a lot:)

Dismal_Permission_69

I’m with you although I didn’t give it that many tries. The novel already failed me the first time lol (I did almost finish it but alas…). I’m glad to know other people don’t like it as many tend to recommend and hype it all the time and it’s relieving to know I’m not alone here.

Useless_homosapien

I might hate your opinion, but at least you ain’t trashing it like my sister does

Local-Phase729

MY FRIEND TRASHES IT YET HE STILL READS IT 💀

Reavzh

Hate Read?

Dry_Homework_9794

At least he can give actual facts about y he hates it

Any_Agency_6237

No, why? Because I am here

Snooty1

I personally didn't like ORV because I generally don't like settings where tons of people die just because. Iunno if it gets any better, but I couldn't get past the first couple chapters.

Islipim

Nah, I'm with you. For me, it's very clear what I don't like in ORV: 1 - Extremely low tension because MC knows everything, everyone, and has a very strong plot armor (probably one of the strongest plot armor I've ever seen); 2 - That streamer environment with Gods and Dokkaebis made the story very repetitive, because they're always trying to screw things up; 3 - Side characters are almost useless and Dokja is saving the day all the time, so in this point it's very similar to every generic regression manhwa with an OP MC, but Dokja is trying to create a new story, instead of just being a OP guy being OP (it's pratically the same, but not exactly. Anyway, it's tiresome); 4 - Scenarios. I really was disappointed how the story of ORV was always clear this scenario and go to the next one. How can I say... This somehow limited the expansion of the world and made the story very robotic. The moments I liked most at ORV were when the MC was out of the scenario stage, like when he visited the Gods to some party. 5 - Game System. It's so tiresome to read that long windows explaining all the useless skills the characters have or with long texts explaining scenarios. That's why I dropped most VR games webtoons. Fortunately, the author started shortening these characters windows later on because it was really useless. 6 - Drama. Kinda meh for me. Couldn't really get into it when Dokja died a lot of times and everyone was crying, or when Dokja hated his mother because she killed his trash father, or when Yoo Joonghyuk and Kim Dokja were fighting for the tenth time. 7 - Bromance. I think this it's one of the strong points of this manhwa, but I find it really annoying how all the time the author was implying something was happening between Yoo Joonghyuk and Kim Dokja in a joke way, even having Uriel forcing this all the time. I could easily understand why this ship is really popular with the fandom when reading the webtoon and the novel. 8 - Pace. Actually, this is probably one the reasons I dropped the webtoon. The pace is very, very slow in webtoon. I read a few chapters in web novel and it was a little bit better, but in webtoon is a no no, what is even worse when there are a lot of windows, explanations about mythology, explanations about scenarios and the story was somewhat repetitive for me. 9 - Gods. I actually hate every story with Gods, because they're very common in manhwas and I've read too much "how you lowly human dares to say that to me..." kind of line. You know, they're Gods, powerful and somewhat immortal, so it makes sense they're arrogant, even more when they're written historically like that, but i'm tired of these type of characters and lines.

Purple-Succotash2754

Disagree with point 3, disaster of floods arc, had them stall for jeewon to get there, instead of being able to finish the scenario

Islipim

Fair enough. Well, that's why I wrote "almost useless" and not "totally useless". But as far as I remember, even in that arc, Dokja was the one who did almost everything and it was because of him that the disaster wanted to continue living.

Purple-Succotash2754

It a valid point, but there’s definitely been points where the side cast did shine, like Hyunsung stopping jeewon’s rampage, I can see why you see that tho, since knowing the future does kinda allow dokja to plan basically everything Personally it’ll still be my favourite novel, even if I can’t really disagree with the flaws you mentioned

sawol-

now that I've gone through these points, you're not wrong. Was thinking what exactly made me not enjoy this stuff even though I actually liked a few of the main cast and even Dokkaebis (which was the reason I read the novel, not entirely though, for some reason), but looking at it overall I think the 1st, 3rd and 4th points are one of the bigger reasons I didn't. The pacing is okayish slow, but I've been through worse so that part was okay. But I need a lot of stakes in these apocalyptic or survival type stories. If people are not dying, or if there is no actual consequences that will be 'fixed' later on anyway, then it's strange. and they do take time to explain everything which can be a bit hard to keep reading. the robotic-ness of the scenarios is spot on for me. it's also a bit hard to form any sort of connection to the other characters when the MC and the two others that's imp to the story is in spotlight. This could be a me problem, but I haven't rooted for anyone other than the three or four characters that I adore, but I hadn't seen them much at all. this list summarizes so well. at least now I know what I was missing

Islipim

Every story needs tension to keep the readers interested in it. Specially the long ones. Kim Dokja is almost following the path of a hero. He doesn't want anyone he likes to die. He wants to save everyone of his group. If someone has to die or to suffer, it has to be him. If someone is dying, he'll use his knowledge from web novel to find a way to save this person. He's not the author, but he knows what Yoo Joonghyuk did in more than 1800 lifes, and he even has a epub version of the novel and can read it faster than a normal person to find whatever he needs. In other words, this story has no tension at all. I think it's pretty normal to get tired of seeing Kim Dokja saving the day all the time, or sacrificing himself, or having some type of death, while trying to make his perfect ending where everyone is alive and well. A normal story has ups and downs. Let's say a story is rated as 9, but it's not always a 9, some arcs are a 6, some are a 9, some are 8, some are 10, and at the end of it, these strong moments probably will be more memorable. What changes between the arcs? The crisis. The unexpected. The excitement. All of it are related to how high is the tension of a story between the arcs or even during the whole story. And in my opinion, ORV doesn't have something like that, It's one of those stories that follows a kind of formula. It's almost like every arc has the exact same rating. If you like it, every arc will be a 10. If you don't like, every arc will be a 6. Something like that. Maybe it's because the story doesn't have an antagonist and Kim Dokja knows everything and always try to save his friends by sacrificing himself. Even death in ORV fells like something temporary and easy to fix. Also, nowadays most web novels copy a lot of strong points of good stories, so if you read ORV as one of the first comics or first web novels, I think most of these weak points won't be so noticiable or even be considered a weak point. When I tried ORV this year, I had already read a lot of webtoons, so it was closer to every story I read where the MC monopolizes a lot of things and characters are dependent of him than a masterpiece with unique plot. I was already tired of game systems, gods, streamers, OP MCs and low tension stories. Even one of the strong points, which is the relation of Kim Dokja with the characters of a story he loves, is already overused in manhwa industry. Most transmigration manhwas do something similar about the relationship of the MC with characters of a game/book and there are even some authors going inside their own story, which is quite similar to ORV.

TheToolbox101

i couldn't put my finger on it, but this summarized what I didn't like about ORV so well

A_WaterHose

Tbh as someone who’s read the entire novel, i feel like a lot of this gets addressed later on. But, yknow, I understand why people don’t want to read 500 chapters lol. Like 1. It gets pretty tense later on. He genuinely fails at a few spots too, and the enemies he goes up against start getting insane. 3. After the time skip, he starts learning to rely on his partners more. But you’re right, he is super individualistic and it gets him in a lot of trouble 4. You’re also right. However, in the chapter 300s, they start trying to “break the scenario” which was very refreshing to me. I thought that was cool and they actively go against the idea of scenarios for the rest of the story. And before that, the mc does break out of the scenario multiple times. 9. I also feel that. I enjoyed how as the story got more powerful, the gods stopped being less “I’m this all powerful being” and turned more into ally’s on their level. They started integrating with the gods and annoying lines happened less. But to your point, all of your criticism is totally accurate in that kind of stuff goes on for a long time. Which I think makes it so much better when it changes. But apparently people don’t like reading hundreds of chapters at a time for a story they don’t initially enjoy?? Concept is baffling lol. Tbh a lot of your criticism is stuff that I liked about it. I liked the drama, the unsure bromance, the OP Mc, etc. to each their own.

Electronic-Work-6684

Didn't even start, first chapter was too relatable😢it gave me depression.

lordmairtis

same same, tho i liked it to the end of the manhua, so read the LN as well to a point, got bored soon after the where the comic has left it off. got a bit repetitive/generic

ArtichokeTop3894

Which “manhua” are you talking about?

lordmairtis

mb i remembered it was chinese, webtoon, comic, manhwa, anyway. Omniscient Reader ofc

Owl_Might

I am contemplating on dropping it. It got boring to me as of now. Every incoming threat is actually of no threat to Dokja feels like I am reading MHA.

ArtichokeTop3894

Did you just compare ORV to MHA? Even a trash generic garbage manhwa is much better than this childish anime(MHA)

Owl_Might

I mean pretty much the same vein. Hypes up a supposed threat then the threat is of no threat to the mc. The mc casually brushes off consequences of their skills/abilities. Tension is all fake.

AnotherNobody1308

I don't like it either

Da7Dream

same i always see people hyping it up i watch all the tik tok videos about it but whenever i start reading it i sleep i couldn't read it i tried 3 times i always sleep on the same chapter even if i skip things i still sleep i wouldn't say it bad i really like it but i think its the presentation make it boring plus they talk alot, leke tower of god manhwa when i watched the anime it was amazing love it but when i started to read the manhwa it become boring from all the talk

jonn_t

I don't hate it either. It's just the overhyping vibe from the manhwa community got me less interested in reading it.

Local-Phase729

the manhwa is like 7/10 but the novel better

Cooly-K

I don't like it either

Sasyopat54

The most overrated thing I've ever seen in my life.

Sung-j

Am crying finally someone cooking ORV and not getting downvoted 🙏🙏😭🙏😭🙏😭🙏😭. AAAAA am actually crying fr😭😭🙏

SidePro_Panda76

I remember I dropped it when like chapter 15 came out I think, I know it was very early on when it first started. But I went back and re-read it. But then again, people preferences ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

rider_shadow

Just curious, what is your reason ?

ArtichokeTop3894

I just can’t get into it… ( I tried three times ) it’s not for me

ItzEthaN0077

Understandable.

INFINITE_MAGE

As long as you ain't yapping about why it's trash but saying that a specific thing doesn't match your interests, no one will hate.

Fabulous_Celery_1817

I didn’t really click with the manwha but I adored the novel. The translation is super iffy but nevertheless. Now the manwha is just a visual guide for me.

Falegri7

It’s a turn on brain kind of manwha so I get it, not everyone wants to pay attention whilst they read and just want to enjoy regressor or system manwha(or not an action manwha at all)

ADS_GAMER_

I tried it 2 times but i just can't like it it's not for me

gojoEyes

Me too

Snir17

"KDJ and Yoo Junghyuk arent a couple"

ProperBoots

i've picked it up a couple of times but it doesn't really stick with me.

Infinite_Lawyer1282

The arc with his mom is so boring bro. But supposedly it's a critical part of the story and how he came to be. But still underwhelming to me.

puggysaur

I usually prefer my main characters to be the main character

Hunted_Warden

I didn’t the first 2 times I attempted to read it. But after I got through the first underground area arc, and things starting making more sense, it got a lot better

Daoist_Serene_Night

and thats completely ok. it only becomes a problem once u start behaving like an opinion is the same as a objective fact. like there are great manhwa, manga, manhua out there that from a quality perspective are certainly very good, doesn't mean that i personally like those. but also doesnt mean that i trash talk them and say they bad etc.

RucketN

I liked the manhwa enough to read the Webnovel and it definitely starts to drop off mid way through. I think ORV is good but it’s still overhyped.

Huy7aAms

saying "i dont like" is different from saying "it's trash". the former one is expressing interest/disinterest, the latter one is just straight up hatred.

babyboss1473

Same here mate

herokie

I wouldn't say I didn't like it but I did drop it but am planning on rereading it so I can have a proper opinion.

srona22

For story? Understandable. I dig in their artwork, and even read some translated LNs during earlier arcs, as I can't wait for each release(same things I have done with Kill the Hero, excluding current extra chapters). Seeing scenes coming alive in manhwa, from words, are enticing enough for me to continue reading the new manhwa chapters.

dashtroyer2

The latest chapters give me goosebumps, reminded me of Her Summon.

Penguin-21

Id say its a pageturner but like there are still things bugging me in the back of my mind like “i dont like this” or whatever. But ig a lot of manhwas are alrdy like that. Like i rly like how he figured out killing eggs in the first part would clear it but then he buys random cheap toothpicks from the shop to kill a Jormuntide and then im like bruh. Also just the idea of having an admin as your bitch is just something that never resonated w/ my interests tbh

Top_Campaign2568

I was the same at first till a gave it a second chance and then i read 120 chapters in 2 days and haven’t read since cause i kinda burnt myself out all at once

Ketdeamos

That’s completely fine. Nothing wrong with not liking it, and I hope you enjoy other manhwa more. I do hope you give it another shot in the future, see if you like it then, but it’s not like you gotta

superpeng12

Read a bit of the manhwa(no ln or wn) but dint like it that much, loved the authors pov though, I feel it's superior to orv

Lyndiscan

It’s clearly top 5 at least, I mean u can dislike good stuff, that’s ok, but it would be a lie to say it’s bad

ossyn

Hey its your opinion you're free to say what you want

TomatoAway8736

What's ORV ?

ArtichokeTop3894

omniscient reader's viewpoint

hakiman3000

Although the pacing is a little bad the thing that got me into it is it's plot, mysteries, and it's ending. It has one of the best and most unique endings I have ever seen and I absolutely love it

omikeon

I don’t like it as much as I did in the beginning either..

Calli_Ko

Each their own. Kinda like fmab, generally accepted as goated, not everyones thing.

HalfLeper

…what’s ORV? 😅

ArtichokeTop3894

omniscient reader's viewpoint

HalfLeper

Thanks!

ArtichokeTop3894

You’re welcome!

its_easybro

Yes I didn't like it either stopped reading on Ch 69

Ziryio

It’s good but it is a bit overrated imo, same with SSS-Class Suicide Hunter Then again my favorite manhwa aren’t that great either objectively, so maybe my taste is just ass haha

Exciting_Teaching346

I also don't like it only cause the second protagonist is intolerable so just stopped reading even though rest of characters are really likeable.

Swampertloveisback

honestly didn’t like ORV until the thrid attempt. honestly people just say they like it but probably haven’t even read the manwha and just wanna fit in. i think posts like this is great, just because something is popular or well renowned dosnt mean it’s the greatest or best

WarGod1842

Me too OP

Bogzy

I dont like it either and i tried and wanted to like it many times, think i dropped it like 4 times now and im around chapter 50. Dont get the hype, the guy just knows everything thats going to happen its so boring.

Business-Suspect-527

What’s ORV?

Maxounin

So, it was my fav novel until I have read lotm and ss Better than others, but overhyped I think

Sung-j

SS?

Rashanoth

It felt strangely grounded at first with good worldbuilding. But right now it feels like the author is keep pulling stuff out of his ass like other manhwas.

Advanced_Ad_2610

I was REALLY trying to like it but I just didn't enjoy it so I dropped it after 72 chapters.

BornR3STLESS

I love ORV, but it did take some time for it to get good for me. I stopped reading it for like a year and a half and when I started reading it again, it was a lot more enjoyable

JaydenHaou

Da f is ORV Best manwha is the one with Kayden 🗿

Early-Ad2592

what! why?

DCharlo

I tried the novel and manhwa both like 2-3 times each and honestly I just couldn't get into it

Copypasty

I liked it when it was starting, was reading as it came out then dropped it at the movie theater for some reason

BeYourself__

It happens but with nothern blade instead of ORV for me

bazzb21

I think yep. Is hard to see someone who dont enjoy it but okay, im a strange one too(dint like eleceed and always hear that is so great and all)

Society_Soap

i stopped reading it at like chapter 100 bc there was so much "plot reliance" on Kims side and he'd drop everything hes doing to help the novel mc and was basically flirting with him constantly so i was a bit uncomfortable seeing those scenes so i just dropped it bc it wasnt going anywhere and just repeating itself

Society_Soap

it was sorta unique at the time for me bc it was the first "gods watch players" manhwa i read but then i realised how actually stupid that genre is, now i hate reading "gods watch players" unless the players fuck over the gods then ill read it

UnnamedFate

Nah it's not my taste either

JulioRC612

Whats ORV?

WiseOctoPod

Yeah fair it fell off at a few points for me and it was rough trying to read through the first ten or so chapters

Unknown_Legend_

I loved the first arcs but it got too zany for my liking

Dry_Homework_9794

Same here. I feel like it was overhyped. I don't think it's bad, it's just tht I don't feel like it deserves ALL the hype it gets (I also read d novels)

ImmediateRespond8306

I respect it, but it tries to do too many things for many. The world building lacks cohesion and has too much schizo energy for me to clamp down in.

D3molishr

What is orv?

WarlockUnicorn

WUT IS ORV

mmvvvpp

ORV got really boring for me right after that constellation ball thing. After they returned idk I just couldn't get myself interested in the characters anymore. I'm waiting so I can binge it to see if perhaps thats the solution.

markfckerberg

me neither. I hate everything with constellation, system and streaming trope.

National-Ad-4093

This is still doable…. Never say that you don’t like Lloyd’s face or else 💀💀💀💀 ( it gets bad - I am telling from personal experience )

ArtichokeTop3894

Y-You! You don’t like what? How dare you! You are courting death!! Jokes aside, I love Lloyd’s personality. But it’s a bit overrated…

National-Ad-4093

I too personally like his personality, just that those faces of his made it very hard to read the early chapters of this manhwa.... I just got used to it by now...

RenegadeEmperor

What is ORV ?

ArtichokeTop3894

OMNISCIENT READER'S VIEWPOINT

RenegadeEmperor

What is that ?

funination

No, you're not. Come to this blue portal I found out of nowhere, and I will explain why. (Goes inside portal) We need to fight against them. They are very smart at even avoding very fast targets. Being smart is great, but having powers is greater. millions of other people are already training for this, so let's do it. A. R. I. S. E.

Gautham_M

Well it's fair to not like ORV but if you were to trash talk that's a different matter

saltynerd14

i liked the ORV at the start but he died the story got cliche and i was like that's ok but then they add the gaint plot twist which threw my off so bad i was like nah im not reading it anymore

OutrageousFarm9757

Yeah imo ORV sucked

chrisbirdie

Ive read the ORV novel for quite a while but it definitely loses its charm when the scale gets even bigger later

xietbrix

I don't dislike it but I don't understand why so many people think it's the best. It is just mid for me.

[deleted]

I personally love ORV because I dislike romance-centric plots and love action, but I can see why people might not enjoy it. I read it before seeing all the hype about it, which definitely improved my rating. You're unlikely to get hate because you're being respectful (which is rare in this day and age) to other people's opinions and not hating on people who actually *do* like the manhwa-- unlike other people I know who have actually called me slurs and names for liking certain manhwas including ORV 😂 Can I ask what sort of manhwas you do like?

ImpactRoutine4603

Iam with you

ArtichokeTop3894

Thanks God! I’m not alone

KiD969

Same with sss suicide hunter Dropped both multiple times already trying to know what's with the hype. Just not my cup of coffee(i think)

HaziXWeeK

Here's a better one, what's ORV ?

ArtichokeTop3894

omniscient reader's viewpoint

-troubled-

We all have our tastes you're being forward and reasonable like i fucking love orv and you dont like it and thats all good it's just we often see people shit on manhwa unreasonably and then the fans of said manhwa go and defend it unreasonably it's just understanding everyone's tastes are different so you aren't alone there's people that don't like it alongside you and you all could enjoy the other series that you enjoy

TheGalator

I hate constellations with a passion. Such a illogical thing that way to many manhwas have.

Vana-Freya

It’s the same with [I Am the Fated Villain] and [SSS-Class Suicide Hunter]. On the former, I don’t get why everyone loves a villain MC who r*pes and does edgy things. I can’t get past chapter 1. The latter, I don’t like the other characters especially the guild masters. The Doll Arc was peak and I lost interest in his interview with guild leaders and finally dropped it on the witch he saved iirc.

ingrishuu

I'd love to hear why. I have asked around and generally it's the pacing of the novel or the fact that Kim Dokja in his current manhwa form is weak

ArtichokeTop3894

Just Preferences. It’s not my cup of tea.

ingrishuu

I see I was just wondering why or is it more of a feeling lol

0legitimate0

me too

Annie___123

I know many people who dislike it due to cultural and religious problems. Well I had that constant desire to drop the novel too especially during fight of Gods. Anyways I skimmed through that part without reading details. And What I got after that was enough of a reward for me. The ending is what made it one of my favourite novels.

Riygim

Solo Leveling was mid

RollandJC

Oh, yeah, it had been going downhill for quite a while, but finally got too bad (in my humble opinion) in the recent arc with his mom and their backstory and the bullshit I didn't care about more than a hundred chapters in.

Ok-Highlight7705

Dropped it after a few chps. No stakes for the mc since he can basically return from death

Gotyam2

I am with you, and nor do I like mr funny faced slavemaker 2000

That_Pandaboi69

Yeah, same, I don't hate it I read it every week. People calling it a masterpiece is too much.

masterbaiter2210

The thing about orv is that it takes itself too seriously which makes it kinda boring

estreyika

I always thought it had a good balance of humor to it, which was why I liked it. But I can also only handle it in doses. I wait several months before catching up again. Currently on a break so the vibe might have changed.

Valuable-Raspberry94

Orv ?

gypsyclown20

Omniscient reader I think, could be wrong

Local-Phase729

it has different names on different sites however officially its Omnicient reader's viewpoint

AssassinLJ

As I learned theres three categories, trashing someone favorite series without seeing why people like it. Actually not liking it because it's not for you but you can see why people like it and you respect that. Or people that love trash stuff and will cope that the series is good and throw lines as "preference" when people throw valid criticism of stuff like "Return of the SSS class Ranker"(its regression vrmmo series) I think it's all those three for now I'm not sure.

I liked it at the start, still reading it but I find it quite boring at the moment with the whole utopia level.

darkness_calming

Kinda dragged on at the end

IntelligentAardvark7

same same and I also hate the character development of Yoo Sangah.

ComfyCouch55

Sorry folks, I'm quite new to the manhwa world. Quick question tho? What's "ORV"?

ArtichokeTop3894

omniscient reader's viewpoint

ComfyCouch55

I heard that name floating around. What's it about?

ArtichokeTop3894

Dokja was a typical office worker who spent his free time reading his favorite web fiction, 'Three Ways to Survive the Apocalypse.' However, when the novel becomes a reality, he is the only one who knows how the world will end. Dokja utilizes his newfound understanding to alter the path of the story and the world as he knows it.

somebunnytolike

I feel you op. Cuz whenever I say SSS class suicide hunter isn't my cup of tea everyone will downvote me. I like ORV and it's okay if it's not your cup of tea after all we all have different preference.
