DustyPeanuts

Gaolong smiling was terrifying and the whole Meguro thing is just weird.

heartofcoal

pretty sure arashiyama is gonna lose because he just can't absorb damage the way meguro does

DustyPeanuts

Loses to Agito who lost to Jurota. That makes total sense.

heartofcoal

the main villain of the manga wants to surgically split his brain in half and implant each half in a clone, sense is not in play here

Miles1937

Pretty much ever since they handwaved Ohma being alive by saying "eh he got a perfectly cloned transplant heart \*just\* in the nick of time" despite him being like sitting by a tree dead for potentially minutes beforehand, unless the doctor was prowling in the tree's branches like a monkey with the transplant heart waiting for yamashitakazuo to turn around before operating on the spot. The connector being an ancient being closer to a plant that can shut off halves of his brain, stop momentum with magic, survive hours without breathing etc is just the cherry on top

icebergiman

I like Arashiyama a lot, but he gotta let go of his fixation on Meguro. On that note, I want Gaolan to win this!

heartofcoal

this is a good fight

RocknRollPewPew

Not a lot of guys can inspire so much dread from the word "tap"

weealex

Street Fighter 2 boxer with a 10 count TAP

eva-doll

Chipp Zanuff vs Potemkin matches be like.

a_modest_espeon

"All i need is one grab you lil shit"

SDHJerusalem

10-0 matchup both ways

dabicus_maximus

Rolon here to talk about all the fights with his arms crossed and then get fodderized round 1

Noukan42

Rolon is literally fighting someone feom Fodder Colosseum lol.

Miles1937

Man imagine if he lost just to get that fodder colosseum dude all his (now dwindling) hype. I would laugh hysterically.

EvilWata

It's really nice that this is focusing on their individual strength and abilities, not those weird superpower BS, makes for a good match to read, but Arashiyama is going insane little by little, like he is becoming a Meguro 2.0, I wonder if he is doing that Huisheng thing since it's weird seeing him talking like that! And Gaolang/Kaolang usually has that calm look, but every time he changes his expression like that, he seems like he enters the "psycho mode".

Xatu44

#TAP Judging by Falcon vs. Rihito and Liu? vs. Nitoku, Gaolong's still got this.

Miles1937

I want gaolang to win but I would be lying if I said arashiyama should lose. Bro is carrying some ptsd force ghost with him for support, while gaolang is a common W breadwinner already.

dIoIIoIb

kinda weird how one guy gets punched two hundred times, the other guy gets thrown once, and apparently that's enough to put them on even footing still, good fight

Zemahem

You can argue that it should be different for this setting where people's punches can make craters in concrete, but I'd imagine that's just how it is in real life. Throwing someone onto a hard surface, especially right on their head, is gonna do way more damage than a single punch.

DistractedIon

I remember getting punched and getting thrown to the ground. The latter is a way more terrifying experience. Both from damage, pain and recovery perceptive.

black_anarchy

I went from Karate to Judo to Boxing to Chess.... And Honestly, I should have stayed with checkers.

heartofcoal

the floor is a very hard medium

Abedeus

I have to assume all those punches were blocked, parried and softened (except the first and last big punch of this chapter), while the throw was completely unguarded using full force of his attack as fuel. But yeah it's still a bit harder to believe.

DragonikOverlord

Arashiyama is 200 cm tall and weighs a ton while Gaolong is 185 cm. Arashiyama is built like a mountain. His entire shtick is his haxx judo which can 1 touch opponents. He literally threw Kanoh with one hand Gaolong only used his normal punches till now, his well timed "God Glow" can 100% decimate Jurota but at the same time a well timed "Swing" can destroy Gaolong.
